- Gaming Pastime reviews Kingdom Hearts for PlayStation 4.
Developed by Square and published by Square Electronic Arts, Kingdom Hearts was released for PlayStation 2 in September, 2002. Japan received a Final Mix version with the additional content found in the North America and PAL versions and it was re-released as part of the Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 Remix compilation for PlayStation 3 which also includes Re:Chain of Memories and a cinematic remake of Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days. The Remix was ported to PlayStation 4 in 2017. Kingdom Hearts may not convey the same type of magic that you see in the films but it is a fun game full of action and adventure.

You always manage to review the games I’m playing
Dude fr I think bro copying my flow 😭
Ps3 remaster of a ps2 game, ported to ps4, played on a ps5.
Exactly what I'm planning to do 😀
Don’t forget the ps1 demake tho
I got this game when I was young because I saw Disney characters but the beginning of the game was quite scary back then and I never got past tutorial island for some reason. Gotta buy this one and play it one of these days.
The combat system is a total snooze fest unless you like hammering on the X button. The level design is boring and lifeless. The gummi ship sections are lame and the cutscenes are insufferable. The only things I like about this game are the graphics and music which are both fantastic. I would give this game a 4/10 as it is generally a chore to play.
Imagine being the guy that had to go into a room full of suits and pitch the idea for the game and storyline
It's such an interesting mashup of mechanics characters and worlds
No joke the creator of final fantasy pitched the idea of kingdom hearts to a Disney executive in a elevator
Great review. My exact thoughts how i felt when i played it a few years ago.
Im currently playing the game for the first time and during my first few hours it frustated the hell out of me because the game never tells you where to go and some mechanics feels outdated as hell. i stopped and returned a few days later and ended up enjoying it more because I was using a guide. Without a guide though, this game would have been trash fire for me.
UPDATE: Turns out I never got to finish it because the final hours of the game leading up to the final boss were tedious as hell. It just never ends, it felt like I've been trying to boss rush for like 3 hours and I was still nowhere near close to the final boss, and the checkpoint for it was awful that I ended up replaying significant portions of the game.
In the end, I still hated Kingdom Hearts.
I never completed this game because of the Riku boss fight and after i watched a video of the final boss fight, i completely lost all motivation to complete it.
Thankfully Kingdom Hearts 2 fixed a lot of the issues and i was able to complete tht game.
F*ck all the bosses after Maleficent.
Holy fuck, I remember that i suggested you an idea to review Kingdom Hearts back in 2020 or 2021 seeing this now is surreal LOL
Another great review. I also avoided the Gummi ships as much as I could. Hopefully it's better in 2.
Oh boy.. please tell me you’re covering part 2!!
I still can't believe that KH game that came to PC FINALLY after so many years of being console/handheld exclusive - is still Epic only and apparently will remain Epic only forever. I just do not understand why. Could you imagine they finally released it on Steam, it'd probably sell crazy good. But I guess they don't like money. Or should I say, they only like Epic money.
Probably in my top 3 favorite games of all time
You have bad taste in games.
@@jimmymackinnon8474 ok.. give me your top 3 games of all time.. let’s hear it
@@bodacious117 Dr. Muto, Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time and FFXII The Zodiac Age ;)
@@bodacious117 tbh I was probably too hasty in judging your taste of games because I don’t know what other games you like. But I didn’t enjoy Kingdom Hearts
@@jimmymackinnon8474 so why are you watching a video about it?
Are you going to review Kingdom Hearts 2?
Would you review The world ends with you, its from the same devs
I tried this game a few months ago. I got till wonderland, but then I stopped because I felt the combat was a little too repetitive in general
Your review kinda makes me want to try and play the game again tbh. I don't really have a big attachment to disney characters, but I do want to get into this franchise since a lot of people love it. Maybe I'll try it again soon lol
It’s really not a good game. The combat system is a total snooze fest unless you like hammering the X button. If you don’t care about the Disney stuff, I would say don’t bother. There are many better action games on the ps2.
just watching the guy in the video spam the basic three hit combo over and over again...
I hate this game. I hate that damn island tutorial and the absolute nonsensical story.
Then fucking leave
