Thank you.. well done and I liked it very much. So... now that its been about two years later .. how is that mat looking? did you leave it outside? did the print fade? I have been watching tutorials like yours and would like to know the condition of the mat and print a while later .. Thanks again .
Thank you. I actually use it just inside my doorway to my sunroom. It gets lots of sun and foot traffic. It has gotten a little dirty, but I would not say the print faded.
Audra Earl hi there. Thank you. I actually created most of these swirls. And the crown is from a subscription site. I don’t have this image for sale right now, but I’m working on offering digital downloads on my website. In the meantime, feel free to email me at StacyODesigns@gmail.com
Thanks so much Bob! I have the first one I did still looking great! It's been a little over 2 years now. I did hit it with Scotchguard and keep it on the inside of my doorway. The image will not rub or fade away. If anything, the rest of the mat would get dirty - but they are very durable and stand up to a good cleaning. I hope this helps.
Hi Stacy, found a few of these at Home Depot on sale...score...I was wondering about the rubber backing melting. Is there any of that happening at such a high heat press?
I have seen some people use an easy press for sublimation. The results vary. Sublimation relies (especially these mats) on even and constant pressure. They basically put the project on the floor and use their body weight.
Hi Donna. As of now I don't have designs up for sale. I created it in Illustrator and Photoshop. You could find similar ones by searching "demask" or corner flourish".
In this video I was using parchment paper - but now I actually use white, uncoated butcher paper. (The parchment was getting a little expensive to use) I got my butcher paper on amazon www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07TKGKB63/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
You are absolutely right. When this trend came about, that was the rumor - but it turns out they are just seasonal. However, I live in a pretty big city and mine has never gone out of stock.
I bought a rug mat by accident.I assumed it was 100% polyester along with the other polyester rugs and it says 100% Olefin. Have you heard of this fabric before and do you know if you can sublimate on it? The instructions says do not iron.
I have never heard of it, but i did a quick google search and found that is is made up of propylene. I also read that the material has many other man made compounds and should be used outdoors because of the off gassing. Cleaning recommendations say to not use an iron, or it will burn the fibers. Final answer: This type of material will not take sublimation. You could try a stencil and chalk paint.
@@stacyodesigns You was absolutely correct. Once I tried to heatpress it I burned the rug so bad that I could not even pull the sublimation off from the rug. It was an ah’hah and experimental moment for me😂😂 The rug was only $5 so it wasn’t a big deal for me. I also was blessed to not damage my machine.
@@chocolatebutterfly9295 Sometimes you just have to go for it! Even though it didn't work, its great that you are experimenting and learning. Have fun!
Awesome! Thank you.
You're welcome! :)
Learned something today i'm in the UK i will have to go look for doormat thank you for the video
Have fun! Glad to help :)
You can use ethanol wipes to wipe the paper. Works perfectly with me.
awesome! thanks for the tip :)

I LOVE your design on the door mat. Can I buy that design from you or can you tell me where you found each of the designs you put together

@@stacyodesigns ok thanks, I will try to come up with a design.
Hi Stacy , Great job!!!
What should the life expectancy be for the image on the rug considering the foot traffic.
Thank you, Bob

Mats have not been discontinued. I bought 2 today, Sep, 4, 2021.
Yes! I found out they are supposedly seasonal. My store has them too. Thank you :)
Beautiful
Thank you
Hi, this is very helpful video, how long do you press for at 400?
around 60 seconds.
Stacy, I did your exact steps but my image barely even showed up on my doormat. Help!
hmmm. Are you sure you were using the 100%poly TrafficMaster brand? What was your time and temp? What inks did you use?
Hi Stacy, found a few of these at Home Depot on sale...score...I was wondering about the rubber backing melting. Is there any of that happening at such a high heat press?
It doesn't melt because the bottom platen absorbs the heat. However,..it does get warm and stinks! Do this with windows open and fans on.
Can I ask which press you have? I have a swing away as well but the module has crapped out after less than a yr so I need a new press. :)
I have a 15x15 swing away from US Cutters.

nice
Thanks
What was your time and temperature. For pressing? Not sure I caught that on your video? Thanks
400 degrees Fahrenheit - 60-70 seconds - firm pressure
Hi awesome job! What spray did you use?
Thanks Tammy. This was Elmers brand, but any repositionable adhesive spray will work.
Hey what size is that press and where did you get it from? Good video btw
Hi!
Is a 15x15 swing away from US Cutter. Thank you.
www.uscutter.com/15-x-15-Digital-Swing-arm-Heat-Press
I just bought 4 of those mats from Home Depot. Their not discontinued.
That's awesome! There was a period they were pulled, but I'm so happy to hear they are back. Thank you for the info.
Do you think I could use a Cricut easy press for this? I don't have a heat press yet
I have seen some people use an easy press for sublimation. The results vary. Sublimation relies (especially these mats) on even and constant pressure. They basically put the project on the floor and use their body weight.
What about the plastic ? doesnt it get burned ?
There is no plastic on this. But there is rubber, and that part gives off a strong smell when heated. Do this in a ventilated area.
Can I ask what paper are u using
I use quite a few different papers -but in this video I used Crafting Besties paper. I HIGHLY recommend this brand.
Awesome. What kind of press do you have if I can ask?
Thx
I have a 15x15 swing away from US Cutter
@@stacyodesigns ty for the info
what amount of pressure? I just got a TUSY heat press 15 x 15 and my design will fit under it, but a little bit chicken to try it. LOL
the pressure is somewhere between medium and high. The mats are very durable. Go for it! It's a super fun project :)
Question -- could you share your design? Did you create it in Cricut or Silhouette Studio? would love to have same to try
Hi Donna. As of now I don't have designs up for sale. I created it in Illustrator and Photoshop. You could find similar ones by searching "demask" or corner flourish".
you used hotter than 400? is that because of the material you're pressing on? I just ordered 2 of these to pick up today.
yes, I pressed it a little hotter than 400. I was compensating for the temp drop when the mat went in.
What type of butcher paper are you using? Great video!

What spray adhesive?
Any reposition-able spray will work. I think I used Elmer's brand here.
Can you design in Microsoft word?
Absolutely! You can design in any program you can print from.
They are not discontinued
You are absolutely right. When this trend came about, that was the rumor - but it turns out they are just seasonal. However, I live in a pretty big city and mine has never gone out of stock.
so the rubber didnt melt?
No, the rubber does not melt - but it stinks when heated. Open the windows and put on a fan.
Is the mat polyester?
yes. the inside of the mat is polyester. The black part is rubber. Open ALLLLLL the windows when pressing.
Hi where did you get the designs?
Some of the elements I got from vecteezy, and some parts I created.
I bought a rug mat by accident.I assumed it was 100% polyester along with the other polyester rugs and it says 100% Olefin. Have you heard of this fabric before and do you know if you can sublimate on it? The instructions says do not iron.

what is the spray and why do you spray?

@@stacyodesigns Yes but you didn't say why you use it?
sworley1956 it’s so the image won’t move
Hi how big is your image?
I printed each element separately. The center image is around 10 inches wide. Each corner is about 5.
