But judging a game on wrong tactics and running out without area awareness in a military sim game seem a bit stupid. It doesn't seem like it was a team server so why they teamed up is beyond me. But it could have been.

It's not basically Hunger Games. It's basically Battle Royale. You know, the epic Japanese movie of which Hunger Games ripped a shit tonne from. You should watch it.
dude the hunger games movies were based off of the book and so the game mode hunger game only recently been used in other games because of the movie which is shit if you read the books
Yes, which incidently the Hunger Games books ripped off a load from Battle Royale, which also happened to be a book aswell (which had a nice little section telling you who got what in their bags). I am also aware that some recent games have employed Hunger Games game modes but you may have noticed the mean age for people who play those games (Minecraft for instance) is low enough for them to of never heard of Battle Royale. Whereas with ARMA, most of the players are a fair bit older. I was merely pointing out that calling it "like Hunger Games" is kind of pointless. It's called Battle Royale because it's LIKE Battle Royale.

Yes the bullet spoongy thingy at the end. That is in singleplayer aswell and I hate it, it makes the game feel weird... I wish there was a better damage model for the game. Sometimes you can put a mag into Ai and they dont die. In many cases I have shot Ai 3 times in the head and they dont die. It needs consistent and I hope for a mod that might help sort this out.
Yeah that is the MAIN reason why i don't play ARMA 3 they tried to simulate body armor and completely failed at it. There are a few mods that fix this but if gamemodes like this don't adopt it then your just stuck with the shitty flinch damage model
The problem is not that they try to simulate body armor, but this would require a new medical system. At the moment you can survive like 5 stanag rounds and run around for hours without any problems. It would be perfect with a bleeding system like with ACE in Arma 2.
Yes, like Marcio and DD is saying I find that the hardest to grasp you put many bullets into a person and they just down you in 1-2 instantly. Thats what breaks the game for me a bit, that they can recover and kill you. That belongs in Cod/battlefield/CS and arcade shooters where its supposed to work. But here in Arma 3 it creates problem with the simulator nature of it. Yes I agree, they have laid out a roadmap where their main goal is to get workshop able to handle mods aswell as now only scenarios. That might mean we can easily just get these mods that improve the game. Other issues are a lack of guns and stuff, but thats so easy to just mod in. Arma 3 is very much a work in progress but I hope with some time it might shine. At the moment its enjoyable and sometimes just great fun, but its also very flawed, and lacks a bit of content.
The Ai need a bit of a work, Im not the multiplayer guy Devil Dog and many other gamers are that play arma I do enjoy the mp but I play the sp portion of it aswell. I hope it will be fixed in time.
What mod sorts it out? I have FFIS which sorts out AI behaviour, but I still have to pump in 4-5 rounds even with a MK200
Jonathan Herman Its due to lines of game codes are so much bigger today. We cant compare Super Mario World on Snes on a few mb towards an 20-50 gb game today. In regards to the code. But I agree its sad... it sad games are so broken today. I hope after the storms around games like Rome 2, Battlefield 4 encourgaes devs to do moore testing before release.

I KNOW RIGHT! This guy made SO many mistakes in this video. People that are looking to buy this game do NOT take this as an example of what the game really is. Arma 3 is an epic military/combat simulation with tons of fun mods. The most highly recommended mods are (In no specific order) Battle Royale, Breaking Point, Epoch, JSRS (a sound mod), and All in Arma (Some maps).

After watching the whole thing, it must be the MOD that has changed the 5.56 hit detection. Because for me, in wasteland, I don't have any issues killing with the 5.56 anything. That is the only possibility that I can come up with.

Should mention that Battle Royale is a Japanese movie from 2000 (and apparently a manga) and it's really worth watching even if it's with subtitles. Hunger Games may have ripped off the entire movie lol, if you have seen it or if you do see it, you'll know what I mean. This gamemode is based off the movie (or manga)

Theres Hardcore mode for Arma 3 too, and it fixes that problem somewhat. It makes every gun kill in a few shots like it should

Another big issue with ARMA 3 is the Vanilla aircraft. A airplane shouldn't be capable of running along a runway at 300kmh and somehow not want to create lift under its wing (Ground Effect would have something to say with that). Id understand if you held the button for it to point the nose down. But this was just pressing the shift key to go. ARMA 2 aircraft physics is really good for something like that. Also for some reason all the aircraft have a tendency to want to point down.
Great play Devil! I know you have your gripes with ArmA 3, but is still worth picking up for some game modes like this? I have to say, it was true to ArmA style with a lot of planning and coordination then 10minutes of your heart in your throat! Great to watch.

I've recently made the switch to ARMA 3 and I haven't noticed people taking hundreds of rounds and living. I've won many battle royales and there hasnt really been a case where I'd hit someone multiple times and they not die.
Plus it looks like you only really got one solid hit in at the end, two if I'm being generous. The rest of your bullets went high right.

Nice gameplay man I watched the whole thing. You said the end of the video would explain why you dislike Arma 3... But it looks like you just lost your cool, fled your cover (I know air strike was commencing), and at the very least (ignoring all other factors) ended up getting flanked by at least one guy, although I'm guessing it was a pair which had observed you enter that building, so they just set up intersecting lines of fire on your only escape route. Anyway, very nice gameplay.

I wish DayZ SA had a mode like this. Not just the core "in-out-survival" thing. 60 players, whole map, death bans you etc. But nooo, they're still spending months releasing hats and different coloured back packs and shit, while the game burns down around them.

BTW, the problem with Upchuck not being able to run is probably because he pressed the C key. It changes walk speed. Annoying as hell when you have been playing Arma2 or Dayz where it is the key bind to stand up. I do it all the time myself

how fast do things spawn in after a building has been looted? So for example, that group of three guys loots the compound at the start of the video, then you go in after them, did more loot spawn just for you, or did you only get leftovers?
I have had the same glitch that Upchuk was experiencing. It happens to me whenever I enter into combat stance mode(bound to 'C' by default). It essentially locks your default movement speed to combat stance mode. So you can either do a full out sprint or walk about as fast as a turtle. It is extremely annoying. You have to leave the match to reset it.

no one complain about the armour system if u wear a bullet proof vest which is one of those u can survive quite a few bullets just cause it takes longer to kill people then instantly people think its unfair
Check bags and vests on te ground for items. Anything with the words carrier rig in the name provide the most space.
In this video you ran for 40 minutes to collect everything and fought for 5 minutes.
Also you killed only one guy and dead. A big joke. :D

Hunger Games is based on a manga called Battle Royale.

The author of hunger games claims to have never read battle royale and it was a novel before it was a manga followed by the movie adaption which happens to be way better than the hunger games :)

Was about to say exactly the same mate. It's possibly inspired by the novel, the manga is just a rip off of the novel.
In any case even though the hunger games author claims she has never read the book (which might be perfectly true) I'm sure she has heard about the overall story and got inspired by it. The idea is simply too similar.
CoIdHeat Koushun Takami who wrote the novel also helped out with the manga series of books, they are actually really good. I like having different perspectives on the battle royale world it's intriguing learning the characters back stories. Well worth a look

They should copy hit boxes from insurgency 2 and just modify them when a player wears body armour to take more damage. I don't see how they could have messed up on it. Its pretty simple

Look closely, devil dog only shot him twice, the other time it was over his shoulder do to recoil and explosions, also he was using a 5.56mm weapon, which is 22 caliber.
the guy was wearing plenty of armor to diminish the damage of a 5.56mm round
so 2 shots, weak round, body armor = DEATH
arma 3 has many flaws but this wasn't the result of one of them.
556 has more powder, which makes it stronger than a 22, and a 556 can rip through thin body armor easily. But it is a 22 caliber:P
Or you can akin it where the mod gets it's name. Which is a movie that came out Wwaaauyyy before the Hunger Games novels.

the problem upchuk had where he couldnt move faster is sometimes when you have no weapon and you right click it puts you in a walk and you have to press right click again. it happens in arma 2 as well i dont know why tho
you can tell where the center of the circle will be.... it doesnt change... why you thought the airfield would be in the center when it was on the edge of the big circle is beyond me

Not a fan of this game mode myself, all you do is spend most of your time looting or hiding, actual combats is rare. I got to 3rd place easily with a pistol with a couple of kills from people hiding amongst terrain then the same happened to me. I like the concept but in practice it's not quite as exciting and if you've played one round you've played them all.
TheDevildogGamer Tell Upchuck that when he gets that walking issue, he needs to hit W and S at same time. Somehow he hit them and he needs to reset it. I play Arma3 Wasteland all the time. Mostly because I can never get DayZ Mod and addon's to work.
What is the reason you don't like it? The same reason all FPS have issues, damage is never a certainty. The other player was approaching, saw you guys run out of the building and got the jump on you. Kudos to him for his situational awareness.

also... seeking out fights is a good way to lose battle royale. unless it is better sttategically, let the fight come to you and just have the better position
How can you know where you are in this game? Like there isn't a marker on the map.
ARMA 3 has a long was to go before it becomes a replacement for ARMA 2.
