    Hamdy is the best! Thank you for leaving his details in the description! We had a layover in Cairo for 10 hours and wanted to visit the pyramids. Two days earlier I send him a message on WhatsApp and he immediately replied. He even offered us a lift to pick us up from the airport! He is such an honest guy, a welcoming and heartwarming brother! He gave us a great tour and took the best pictures! I'm definitely going back to Egypt and meetup with him! 🙌🏼

    I love how you paid Hamdi extra. He was worth it. We were there in 2005 & we hired an Egyptologist privately for our family. He would take us everywhere, get our tickets, explain things, PROTECT us from "hustlers" & barter for us when we wanted something. It was the BEST trip ever! Also, the people are very kind. They were esp nice to my young kids! Highly recommend Egypt.🥰

He even played photographer for my gfs extended photoshoot at the panoramic view spot haha. After the ride he even invited us to his other job for dinner which was amazing and ridiculously cheap (I'm not sure if that's a regular thing so please don't ask 😛) Wish I had booked a hotel in Giza so I could've explored the area more with him. As an Egyptian 🇪🇬, I see that unfortunately these scammers are harming the reputation of the country, even ordinary Egyptians, who are not sellers. I often try to provide assistance, for example, in crossing the road because it is somewhat difficult for foreigners if there is no traffic light, but some people are afraid or suspect that I am like salesmen, and will ask for money, specially if giving a free gift. In fact, all I wanted to provide was humanitarian assistance without financial compensation. Just a smile would be enough. Perhaps I also need help someday in a certain country, and I find someone to help me without asking. this is how things should be going. thanks for everyone visits our country and make it more beauty with diversity of tourists.❤❤

      Yes the harm they are doing the country is astronomical do you know how many Americans have seen these films and refused to come there this was quite literally the only place I wanted to travel to outside of my own country and because of all of the scammers and Hustlers on the street you can go ahead and cancel those six plane tickets I was going to get at some point in time to take my family I'll stay here in the good us of a at least I know what the Hustler's here trying to pull but I would like to say you have an absolutely beautiful country for many years I was invested in the Anunnaki the Nephilim and ra spent about 3 years researching the ancient Sumerian religion and again like I said I did all of this because it was my dream to see the pyramids but I don't want to go through all that swindling just to see them and I'm not really that big of a people person so I don't like when a 1000 people walk up to me trying to push stuff again absolutely beautiful country I absolutely love it from the bottom of my heart and you sound like one of the good ones so thank you for helping my foreign brothers and sisters get along there without harassment you're amazing God bless you Amun RA

One of the great wonders of this world and its being abused by scammers and pegglers, its such a damn shame. I was haggled so much that it literally tainted my expiereence to the point where I tell everyone not to go bc its that annoying. these guys treat the place with such disgust, camel horse sht everywher enot even cleaned and litter all over the place. There is a plan to upgrade the area which its first stage will be the Grand Egyptian musuem it increased the police around the area which is good and theyre not regular traffic police thats for sure. Very sorry for your experince ive had a similar ex. Even as an Egyptian nothing was upgraded or enforced during mubarak's rule corruption was literally every where atleast the new president wants to change things and is doing a very good job so far despite the media probganda bombarding our country from the inside and the outside. I would reccomend visiting again when this museum opens im planning to do that too and if you want a true Ancient Egypt experince you can visit luxour and that musuem. The red stone is granite. Used at various places throughout the pyramids. The ones scattered around the base were one part of the base of the pyramid. The same thing for the room that they did mumification at was all granite. Granite is often used on the interior as well for the vaulted ceilings and overhead stones for its strength.

    The large stones with a red color that are located next to the Pyramid of Cheops (or the Great Pyramid of Giza) in Egypt are known as the "red granite blocks." These blocks are made of a type of granite with a reddish hue and originate from the Aswan Quarry, approximately 800 kilometers upstream from Giza.
    The red granite blocks served a specific purpose in the construction of the pyramid. They were used to clad the internal part of the access passage leading to the burial chamber, as well as to clad the royal chamber inside. The exterior of the pyramid was originally covered with a layer of smoothly polished white limestone blocks, which, unfortunately, have largely disappeared over the centuries and survive only in a few places.
    The use of the red granite blocks had both practical and symbolic meanings. From a practical perspective, granite was a highly durable material that was resistant to weathering and erosion. The red granite cladding provided additional protection for the internal structures of the pyramid. Symbolically, granite was also a material associated with divine power and immortality. The red color of the granite was connected to the rising and setting of the sun, and it was considered a symbol of eternity and divine strength.
    Therefore, the red granite blocks next to the Pyramid of Cheops served both practical and symbolic purposes in the construction of the pyramid.

    Totally amazed by the Pyramids and other temples, my older brother visited them on a Mediterranean school cruise on the MS Uganda in 1976. He flew to Rome from Glasgow to board
    the ship, my other older brother flew to Yugoslavia for his trip. When it came my turn, myself and my twin went to Switzerland, on a bloody bus. While it was great, I really wanted the
    Pyramid's, but guess we were all lucky to have visited such amazing places while at school. My parents worked really hard to pay for these trips, we were all very fortunate to have such
    great parents, miss them both so much. Well done om ~ ONE MILLION ~ Dale, you make me proud to be a fellow Scot.

    Dale, I was searching in the comments to see if anyone knew why those rocks are at the base of the pyramids and have a reddish hue. I didn't see anyone answer so allow me. Those stones are not part of the pyramids but rather the remnants of a series of anciet stone road which were compiled of all places at the base, at the time, the egyptian planning minister didn't have a clear idea of designing roads and access to the pyramids for all of the archeologists and tourism. It was never addressed and they decided to better leave it as is.

    • @USNWaveRet
      @USNWaveRet 2 года назад +1

      These stones you speak of weren't even visible when I went there in '87... all covered by sand back then. Can't believe how 'tourist' it all looks. Glad I saw them in the 'raw', so to speak!

    • @FadyMSalama
      @FadyMSalama 2 года назад +2

      That’s not right, it’s not a remnants of a stone road, the pyramids were not looking the way they are looking right now, what we see now are the core rocks but it was used to be covered by a layer of this reddish stones to give a cleaner finish. This layer started to fall off the sides of the pyramids by time and the core rocks started to show, you can notice a small part of this layer still there near the top of the pyramids

    I got scammed a couple of times when I was there, but I fixed that by wearing a galabeya (sp?) which is the nightshirt-looking garment that Egyptian men wear. I even look as if I could be local, albeit a little tall, which helped immensely. I also kept my mouth shut to not betray that I was a foreigner. Worked like a charm.
