This a very impressive and well thought out Wing-FC with very flexible design. Great balance in feature set, physical size and value. Even the product description (web) is well thought out, giving good guidance to newer wing pilots on when to choose INAV or ArduPilot as FC software. A great feature I have not seen on any other FC is the ability to boot to USB, WiFi, or BLE connectivity options (7:00). For example if the USB gets damaged, can still use the FC using WiFi, or BLE. (may even be able to workaround accidentally disabling UART1 in INAV, which disable USB connectivity? have not tested) According to webpage/manual, a long "6 second" press switches modes. Shorter presses switch LED modes (as noted at 8:43). Great easy to read labeling on top of the FC, plus a LiPo battery 'state of charge' % status checker (4 LEDs). Really look forward to seeing you Ranger T1 build series. It will be a nice pairing to this FC. BTW: SpeedyBee product page is now live (should you want to include a link in the desc). Great content and graphics, including PDF manuals.
I can't connect to mine. I've tried usb, WiFi, and Bluetooth. I used the speedybee app and mission planner, but no luck. I settled on this controller after researching for my first autonomous plane build. I guess im lucky it was only $50
Hello, you have made a great video. I bought the FC as a result. After 2 hours of operation and setup, there was a short circuit on the circuit board and the FC caught fire. I contacted Speedybee directly because I had also bought the FC there. They then decided that it was not a fault with the circuit board and that they could give me a 30% discount if I bought it again. I think something like that should also be mentioned in a video. A regular customer warranty is simply rejected here. Greetings Georg😫
Yusss, a new player appears in the fixed wing market and looks pretty great. Can't wait to see you fly it. I think only feature it lacks is a camera switcher.
Great video. Just got one of these myself, which I plan on putting in a Swordfish, but I'd love to see a video (or series) on you putting one in a VTOL Ranger. Doesn't look like that project happened?
Thank you for your opinion. I ordered one because for inexperienced like me. it is a good one to start with. Iam trying to build a heewing f-01. Many suggestions l can use. Thank you.
After I watched the video and found out how many features it has I thought to myself: „Very nice, but probably it costs 150 bucks“ But OMG it’s only 40$!!!!!!!!!!
I'm a bit confused. Do you know if Inav with a Speedybee f405 Wing controller can support a 5 motor vtol? (4 lift motors plus a foward thrust motor?) Or do I need to use Ardupilot to get that sort of capability from this Speedybee?
Hey great video I just mounted it on my plane, I want to know If It's possible to configure a second camera in this Flight controller for Inav, thanks Matt
This looks pretty good, and I have a project that it would suit very well. I look forward to seeing your Ranger build and install/operation of this controller. Any idea where I will be able to get this in the UK?
Wery welcome. But I see one major design flaw. Silicone grommets between boards. They need to be fixed or the plugs might disconnect... matek has copper standoffs without silicone grommets. Yes expensive but they do it right. So conclusion looks fancy but do not trust it.
@@MadRC yes I saw that. But I remember a flight stack that had problems with this. (Can't recall the acutal stack) Basically same thing as having a regular stack screw thru the grommets on a quad. There is reason why all quad stacks uses wireharness instead of this solution... the boards should really be fixed will just cause stress issues on the plugs without helping vibration because it will translate via plug instead...
Pin headers?? Has GepRC's mistakes taught you nothing, Runcam? Did you notice how only the middle board gets the gummies, while the other ones are hard-mounted while connected to the middle one with pin headers? Were they high when designing that?
@@MadRC They won't short, but rigid pin connection between two boards where one of them is supposed to be suspended on gummies and the other hard-mounted? That's all kinds of wrong.. Think of the stresses on the connector when there are G loads and about what's the use of gummies when you have a rigid connection in the form of pins plugged into header.. I'd like to see raw gyro logs from that wonderful invention and also to have a glimpse at connector failure rates after some use..
Honesty I don’t see any issues with what’s been done here. May be in a large heli yes but these are going to end up in wings mostly. I don’t see there being any issues with this design.
@@flyinghigh2646 it's goot to have it onboard, but I can get wifi connectivity through ELRS, so can add that to *any* FC. For me this is better than the equiv matek offerings due to the overall improvements and features it offers over and above.
this is the 3rd time I got a review in my inbox and still no such product available on speedybee's website, only a V3 F405 which looks like a drone fc cause it has no wing markings engraved as shown in the video. Should be mentioned that this is an influencer only product cause if I remember right Lee had been the first in last year reviewing it but without any product link. Speedybee should at least have an anouncement in their product category instead of showing the fc offeringw without that new wing fc. It feels like a continuous aprils fools day. And I did not expect that you would do a review too even without a link like all the others had done before. Weird product launch to rush the marketing influencer campaign out withouit having stock.
It’s available now. Link is there in the description, I published after it was put on the website. Lots of people have ordered already. This is a full launch and not just influencer only.
It’s even listed on the home page. I added the link just now as I had not had a chance to do it yet but this went live on speedybee several hours before my video went live.
There is a lot to like about it. There is also a lot to DISLIKE about it too. I ordered one anyways, they are very low price right now. Dislikes: Not good for 2S li-ion packs (!) rated down to 7 volts darnit. 3 boards means HEAVY. Solder points hidden when assembled. USB separate, and short cable. Speedybee has a bad FC reputation right now. Too many multipin plugs I will never use. ymmv

No more abuse price from Matek.😅
You got that right!
🎉 finally
I wonder if the warranty is better than Matek
@@craigreynolds4449 is Matek warranty not good?
Most Matek stuff I've bought recently has broken/caught fire/been weird. Their quality seems to have dropped a lot, hopefully this FC will be better.
Yesterday I ordered one,......;-) will see how it goes. The price was simply priceless .
...but no shipping.....no movement since 9 days at all.
Hey, where is that video with the T1 Ranger VTOL?
Very interested in the ranger t1 vtol build. I'm having issues figuring out how to install the third motor.
Did you ever get this working? Contemplating the best way to connect the third motor's power leads myself, since there are only 2x ESC leads.
Same here ??

I hope they soon offer a mini version. The f405wmn for matek is still king despite the difference in price between the two.
Ordered, now on pre-order....£33 delivered no brainer......Watch out Matek, competition at last...🤔😳😏😏😏🇬🇧

You forgot to mention the built in lipo voltage checker 😉
Finally a real competitor to Matek and cheap FCs, I am buying it 100% imagine the profits Matek is making with those more than 100 dollar FCs
right but not everyone is having ELRS, we are still TBS, and $40 vs $110 is a big difference
I have set everything up but how can I get servo to move.? No one is covering the step
i ordereed today , so much better and cheap than matek controllers
Ordered one of these to try last night. It will be the first time i put a fc in an airplane.
Looking forward to seeing that ranger t-1 vtol build using the speedybee f405 wing
what spectrum or JR pro receivers have worked successfully with this board ?

@@MadRCever thought about the ESCs? This seems to have 2 esc outputs and the HeeWing would need 3
Just received it, sitting near MTD to get to know each other prior to fusing :)
How to get osd with ardupilot and walksnail, inav works but can't get osd info when I have ardupilot install
Hi, it possible to connect via softserial to use it via SmartPort as it is possible on Matek boards?
Still waiting for mine, wishing a single integrated esc was included.
Hello Mad, How can you get the black box data from the SD without having to remove it?
I don't like the placement for the sdcard. Hard to remove it without dismantle everything. Except that it seems nice

Friendship ended with Matek, speedybee is my new friend
Excellent review! Telemetry modules such as RFD 900+ can be connected ???
Yep via UART.
There is no ardupilot software yet or I couldn't see it
thank you , this is even cheaper than the maytek 405 wing flight controller, i just ordered 3.
That's gonna upset maytec....great news,looks great Ian
Just bought a T1 ranger, make a build video!
Can the led’s also be controlled by the firmware? Or is it only via the onboard controller?
Hi Ian could you test if it supports FPort being F4 for me please?
