  • In this video, Dr. Ann Webber of the Queensland University of Technology and University of New South Wales joined us virtually on Thursday, September 23, 2021. Her lecture topic was Amblyopia - The Real World Impact of and Emerging Treatments for Lazy Eye.
Dr. Webber has worked continuously in the profession of optometry, in clinical private practice, academic teaching, and clinical research. While her career has been predominantly in Australia, Dr. Webber has a strong Texas connection. She has been a regular visitor to the US (pre-pandemic!) and collaborator with the Retina Foundation. Her doctoral research into the functional and psychosocial impact of lazy eye closely aligned with the research interests of Drs. Eileen Birch and Kelly Krista, with consequent collaboration on studies of the impact of lazy eye in children and novel treatments.
