    I truly love that style of cooking ribs. More of a Asado method by heating the bones and letting them get the meat tender, and flipping only to finish off and add color at the end. Charred bones? Who cares, I don't eat bones LOL! You have mastered the LSG Santa Maria grill Jeff! Thanks for the mention buddy, I appreciate it!

      Thank you Rus and coming from you that I have mastered this beast really makes my chest pump up and I am strutting like a farm boss roster!! I really love this pit and probably the best thing that has happened to help boost my cooking skills again!! Nothing better than a little bust the hump and chase fire when cooking some good food!! Been a long time since I grilled any ribs but I certainly plan to do tis again!! Thank you for all your help on the LSG Santa Maria brother!! Talk to you real soon!!

      @@DeadBrokeBBQ Hey Russ Jones, Nice crab redo video. Now you have called him Master. We gonna have to start bowing to him like in them Karate movies😂😂😂😎.... My Buddy Ricer. 7 weeks out of surgery and I am trying to make myself do more and what do I see??? I haven't had ribs like that in years. If they aren't 1/2 burnt on 1 side then they ain't done. 25 years ago that's the only way we knew to grill them. Nice video my friend...

    Nice vid...... Just my 2 cents . wrong type of rub to use with that style of cooking. That SPG on the shelf would have been bomb...... But you pulled out a good cook. Also got to stay on top of that fire. A log at a time just enough to kiss the meat with flame! Now im not saying i wouldnt have eaten your tho....🤤

      Heck ya Dyno!!! I agree, funny I com pletely knew DON'T ADD any sugar but still did it!!!?? Been a couple decades since I have grilled ribs but I was still very happy how they turned out. Now the fire, part of that was trying to give that effect of that huge flame underneath but for the most part I drop in 1 or 2 small sticks at a time to keep those temps nice and level. But I had a few hungry people staring at me so I gave it the push to get it done!!! hahaha Thanks for watching and I hope you are feeling better brother!!!

      Very good but next time I think I will use PS Cherry Bomb instead!! I thought the PS bourbon was a little stronger than my liking! Still good but not the best ever if that makes sense! Now it certainly cook in to the rib better than i expected so bonus for sure!! Thanks for watching Matt!!!

    Been sooo very busy but was able to catch this vid,great to see the Santa Maria in use especially with the Argentinian grill accessorie. I love ribs cooked hot and fast ( I believe Babybacks lend themselves to grilling better than spares) . Anyway I know it's easier to spend others money. That said I seriously suggest you get and use their Brasero for live fire cooking. Get your coals from the bottom of the Brasero, add the sticks on top. This will solve some of that excess darkening of the ribs. Yes some of it is the sugar in the rub, no doubt. But some of it is the dirty smoke coming off the freshly burning sticks. Also you will get better consistent heat,less up and down temperature. This is why the Argentinian's use the Brasero, it's just WAY easier. Please do more on this wonderful grill. I believe I will be placing my order for the 5' one this October. Ricer, you and your family take care of yourself buddy, and have a great day . 😃👍🍻🌤🔥

    • @DeadBrokeBBQ
      @DeadBrokeBBQ  3 года назад +2

      Thanks for watching Victor!! Yes one of these days I will pick up the Brasero for the LSG! I also went at it pretty hot for an hour or so because I had a hungry crew so I cranked her up a bit. Typically I am just adding a stick or 2 at a time and with the open air the dirty smoke really doesn't effect it like in an offset. This pit keeps you hopping for sure and if you get a chance make sure you check out the newest rotisserie prime rib video, now that was an epic cook! They only make that rotisserie for the 4' and 3' model though. The 48" has plenty of room for me to cook on though. Thanks leaving a comment Victor and have a great weekend brother!!

      @@DeadBrokeBBQ thanks for the reply. I love live fire, been doing it since Boy Scouts. And you're right, part of the trick is adding small pieces more often. The other thing you could do is put the grill over on say the left side and have your stick/ coal burning side on the right. Lastly yup I'm aware they don't have a Rotisserie for the 5' model. I actually have a few thoughts on that I'll discuss in the future after I get mine. But I want the 5' size for at site catering events. My catering business " Little Bubba's Smokehouse " is growing and I intend to do on site cooks starting next year. Stay hydrated my friend, it's looking like it's going to get DAMM hot for you folks this next week. So, have a great day. 😃👍🍻

      @@DeadBrokeBBQ hey just one last thing to mention about the LSG Santa Maria grill. Criss and company in my opinion have done a really great job with the " modular " approach to this cooker. All these attachments you can by with the first purchase OR add later on as needed. Very well thought out, leaves room for them to make even more attachments for the future. Anyway, I felt it important to give them a shout out, later. 🔥

      @@DeadBrokeBBQ Yeah, I stay away from sugar when doing the direct grill thing. I've been using a Greek or Italian (Chicago) style seasonings when I do them. Might not have a fancy grill like you but I do it on the elevated grates with the coals burning full boat. Think I did them at around 500 last time and they took an hour. Came out so good that I am getting requests for it. If you got elevated grates for your kettle, might be something to try, one hour ribs. BTW, I also brine them before in apple juice, brown sugar, sea salt, and honey granules for a few hours before to keep them moist with all that heat. Just a thought if looking for something new that is not on YT right now.
