    Great first cook.Love how the ribs came out,i see alot more cooking over the coals in the BBQ world again,for a few decades it declined,but as you can still taste it is quite a different end result over the typical smoker which is essentially a wood fired oven.And big is the way to go on these i would think so you can do anything from a small dinner to a whole hog.Take care,gonna jump on Rus's video now.

    Really good presentation Dawg. I've been searching, and previewing smokers for about a year now, and I have continued to return to the LSG smoker. It seems to me that none are built better.
    You and some others have help guide me to my decision to go with the LSG Upright Smoker. One of LSG's video's on this Santa Maria grill brought me to your channel. Thanks for posting.

    • @TheDawgfathasBBQ
      @TheDawgfathasBBQ  5 лет назад +1

      Thanks for watching Don. So I think the standard wheels work fine for how I use it on my concrete patio. I moved it through grass absolutely fine as well. The only issue I could see is if you are on uneven surface if you don't have locking casters. As I mentioned in the video that is easily remedied by chalking the wheels. I don't think you could go wrong with either wheel set honestly.

      @@JohnDoe-xu2vx When it came off the truck, they used a pallet jack to put it in our driveway. At that point we just take apart the crate that was built around the cooker and wheeled it out and into it's place. They crate these cookers up pretty well and build them to ne as mobile as possible for us end users. GREAT products... We did go around the yard to the back, so we used the side walls of the crate on the ground to have a solid surface to wheel over through the grass. Once on the concrete it wheels around very easily.

    hey bro great video, Question do you cover your wood to protect from the rain? Have you used wood thats wet? Will it produce alot of smoke? Thanks.

    • @TheDawgfathasBBQ
      @TheDawgfathasBBQ  5 лет назад

      So no I don't cover the wood. All of the wood I purchase is seasoned pretty well so I don't have to worry too much about wet wood being here in Texas. When I run it on my smoker I typically preheat wood before I burn it to cook with by placing it in the firebox across from the fire. When it's time I toss that split on the fire and it lights up immediately. I then place the next split across from the fire again and repeat as I go along. And yes, wet wood will give you a thick dirty smoke. If that smoke is white, it aint right! Thanks for watching...

    Did lonestar grill give this grill to u or did u buy it? Love the grill either way. Part of me has been debating starting a RUclips channel, and I'm curious how often bbq channels get sponsored videos

    • @TheDawgfathasBBQ
      @TheDawgfathasBBQ  5 лет назад

      First, thanks for watching the video. Next, this grill was purchased my man. LSG doesn't sponsor my channel. The products that I have from them I have because I love their products and how well they perform. As for sponsorship on a BBQ channel? It would be like any other channel. Should you be fortunate enough to come to a deal with any provider of products, you just decide between you how that sponsorship would work. Only thing I will say is be careful because not all deals may be right for you. As for starting your own channel I would say this. Just do it! Once you make your first video you will begin learning on what works and what doesn't. It is all a process in the making. If you have any questions, feel free to drop me an email at TheDawgfathasBBQ@gmail.com Good luck!!!

      I honestly couldn't tell you. Santa Maria cooking to me is all by feel. I'd you place your hand by the meat over the grill and can't hold it there for more than a couple seconds, it's too hot. If you are raising the rack higher than that then you would be just absorbing smoke and slower cooking.

    Howdy Alton, I can't find your email address, I believe you sent it to me during one of Dashes lives. Anyway, I mentioned I should be receiving my IVS soon,well? Maybe I might get it next week but here's the thing and I wanted to bring this to your attention without shouting it to the world so to speak. When I ordered my IVS in October I was told 18 weeks tops. If I get it next week, and I have my concerns, it will be 24 weeks. Lets take off one week because of the terrible situation all of you had during the extreme cold event you folks had in Texas. That's still 23 weeks. That's really bad on their part. So I'm curious if you have heard of others being disappointed with their production time line. I'm looking at probably getting the big Santa Maria grill for catering for the 2022 season. And I was thinking about a second big smoker this year for uping my capacity for smoked turkeys for this years Thanksgiving. But it doesn't look like they can be trusted for competition times. Again I'm not wanting to throw Lonestargrillz under the bus so to speak to the mass public but I am very interested in your thoughts about this. Anyway have a great day, I'm sure I will be happy with the IVS when it arrives but I have to admit I believe Lonestargrillz really dropped the ball. The finish and delivery dates should be much better than this.
