- In the wake of the shocking ID Discovery docuseries “Quiet on Set,” former Nickelodeon show producer Dan Schneider is speaking out and apologizing for toxic behavior. One of Dan’s cast members, Drake Bell, was sexually abused by dialogue coach Brian Peck. Schneider says he did not hire Peck and was “devastated” when Bell told him about what had happened. “Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV” is streaming on Max.

What’s really sad is that even if he never became a creator/director he would have done these horrible acts at any job he had.
He might want to but not have had the power to do so. He really abused his power dynamic as a show runner. I doubt if this dude was a manager at McDonalds that he wouldn’t get fired pretty quickly for his behavior. He wouldn’t have the same kind of access. Like an employee at McDonald’s doesn’t care if they lose their job for ratting out their manager, there’s no real threat of getting blackballed, so there’s less fear in speaking out over misconduct. That’s not to say this dude isn’t a pathological creep loser, who would be toxic in any environment he was in. Should never be allowed on set ever again.

I think Dan was more upset and butt hurt about people not liking the content of his shows than about what he put the cast through.

Why is it all coming out now? If we knew it was a problem something should have done something but again I ask at the time? Where were their parents?
For the same reason why so many celebrities, police officers, priests, teachers, etc. have been able to get away with repeatedly doing things like this before. When you have a person with a higher status and authority, the victim may feel like it's only happening to them or that they will get in trouble if they say anything. In this case, the parents were often purposely left in the dark and, even if they were looped in to what was happening, they felt like there was nothing they could do about it because he's in charge. In this documentary, one of the kids was actually fired because his mom kept interfering too much.

If you guys think this apology isn't sincere, then what IS? Also, the only reason he's not in jail is unlike the other three guys, not enough evidence to convict.
