I can see it. I came here right after finishing the first episode just now and it's IMPOSSIBLE to tell that it's him in the show.
Not trying to nitpick but they changed his name in the show to Oswald Cobb*. Kind of a cool change that makes him just a little more grounded.
@@ryancallsin I don't think that was the main purpose, I think it goes beyond. William Cobb was the name of the first Talon from the Court of Owls. I think Matt Reeves just changed the name to involve Penguin with them for The Batman Part II.
He better but who knows, even tho it had issues he was fuckin amazing in true detective s2 and didn’t even get a Nom even tho he deserved the fuck out of one. Also last year he was in the amazing miniseries the north water and gave an incredible perfomance where his character was insanely scary and unhinged and he again didn’t even get a nom. He absolutely deserves one but sadly I wouldn’t be surprised if he got snubbed yet again since it’s already happened multiple times.

Watched ep1 of the penguin last night and Colin was epic, unsurprisingly. He was brilliant in Sugar and Minority Report. He deserves to win a Oscar!

@@l.anders8867that’s just naturally what happens when you live away from home and are around people with different accents, he still got his strong Irish accent even if it’s not quite as strong as it was 20-25yrs ago
@@tomakafrankconlon3207 that’s definitely not true, when he’s out of character he pretty much always speaks in his Irish normal Irish accent. He switches his accents for roles but off set and out of character he still has his classic Irish accent

Watch it last night, had to check who was playing the penguin, coudnt believe it was him, exellent acting, the voice, even in all that make up, its when you dont see the actor, but the character. Thats what makes a great actor, love it.

Colin Farrell is very underrated.
he is though. I feel like he's in the conversation of character actors like Gary Oldman, Christian Bale, Daniel Day Lewis, etc, but never quite gets the same level of respect. I'm hoping this series can finally prove to any non-believers that Farrell is a monster actor and has been for a while.

5:09 it’s so wild seeing Colin Farrell slip into the penguin voice so cleanly just for a second. Awesome performance.
He's absolutely NAILED this character. And it's certainly put him into a whole new category as an actor overall. Just a super, super, job performing this. I'm as hooked into this show as i was The Soprano's. And in a way it's very similar which is probably why i like it so much.
They always give him the greatest makeup transformation, Fright Night 2011 is one of those movies where he gets a makeup transformation for the more sinister vicious look
What he did with the character in penguin is absolutely amazing had no idea it was him.
I hope that Colin gets every award available for this role in penguin. He is phenomenal and it's so hard to believe that is. Colin Farrell in the prosthetics and the voice of this character! Great job acting and great job with the makeup team.

Edit: I take care of my elderly aunt and there have been a lot of ads for The Penguin lately. When I showed her who actually plays the role, she simultaneously got 40 years younger and almost had a heart attack.
