- Catching Giant BULLFROGS in the South Louisiana Swamp! We had an awesome time in the Atchafalaya Spillway catching Huge bullfrogs and enjoying all the different wildlife the swamp has to offer at night.

Just found your channel and I am enjoying it! I used to catch bullfrogs for fun as a kid and my mom would yell at me lol.

Them frogs in the basin have 6 inches between the eyeballs. Where theres frogs there is crawfish.

Hello everybody hope y'all are doing good and I know your enjoying life. Every time I see one of your frogging video's it takes me back to 1976 right before I went into the Army at my good bye Party. I bet they were good eating. Sorry it took so long for me to comment but I was out of town and only had the phone to watch on and can't see to comment on it. Rabbit , Beaver , frogs , Gator no telling what you'll see in the swap maybe that's what I miss about it. Maybe I should have never left it but Florida didn't have much left at the time they screwed it up with all their dam's and water control so they could dry up more for house's. Drake reminded me of myself when I was about 10 or11 the first time I went frogging and a frog peed on me my uncle told me it would put hair on my chest and I spent the next 2 years looking for it to show up lol. Mrs Tara your right about the gator's being overpopulated way to many of them now a days but if they didn't have a hunting time laid out people would over hunt them like they use to and we won't have any left.. It's like dear hunters around here you drive down the road and see Dear that were killed just for their heads and they leave the rest of it on the side of the road stupid people kill for a trophy and not to feed their family... Hey buddy! Frogging is one of our favorite things to do. Fried frog legs is hard to beat. I never was a trophy hunter or fisher. I don't like wasting. I let it go if I have enough. It would be nice if you could get an alligator tag when you get a fishing license. I think that would be fair since we have so many gators. Take care buddy. Thanks a bunch! 🐸
@@datlouisianalife It's all a money game as long as they can make hundreds of thousands or maybe a million plus why would they want to may a fraction from one tag to each person even if it would make the playing field fair . It's called Government being greedy and corrupt. they pass the laws and rules for the people yet they don't have the people vote on them to say they want that law so really it's what they want not the majority of the people.. In other words they are slowly taking the voice of the people away and making their own laws that they want and the hell with the peasants.. I hate waste myself and have never cared about having a fish or anything else hanging on my wall and I have gotten some nice fish in my life time and have killed a few nice wild hogs as far as Deer go I have always said they are to cute to kill unless I was starving but have eaten Deer over the years at friends places. No Deer heads on my wall but have had some eating out of my hand and I do bait them when Hunting season comes around to keep them in my yard safe from the hunters I just enjoy watching them... Man do I miss my old life and I am determine to finish out my days living like I did before I got married.. You all take care and stay safe and Please keep the video's coming.
i live in south GA and people kill a lot of deer during deer season, but they EAT THE MEAT. i don't personally know anybody who kills the deer around here just for trophies. it might be different where you live. We make deer sausage, too. Some people even eat the wild ferrel hogs, too...and frog legs and squirrels and rabbits. it's a rural area.
@@ValerieGriner I eat Deer meat as well and don't dislike anyone that hunts to feed themselves. Over the years I have found 3 Deer's that were shot on my land and they left everything but the heads. I have also seen no less then 30 Deer's on the side of the road with out heads and after looking they were shot and dumped there not hit by cars about 3 years ago there were 5 in the same spot with out heads. A lady that lives just down the road had a bullet hit her house because someone from the road was shooting at Deer in her yard. That's what I am referring to..

There were a few rabbits out there floating around on lily pads. The water came up quick and that's the only place they had to go. The Spillway holds some huge frogs. Fun to catch. Thanks buddy! 🐸

We definitely not experts! Just smack and grab and hope you come up with a frog. Those frogs were moving slow that night due to the cool water. Once the water temps warm up, them suckas are gonna be a lot quicker. 🐸

We eat the alligators too🤣🤣🤣! The only reason we not catching the gators is because it's illegal unless you have special tags. And Gator season is only one month out the year. Thanks my friend 🐸!
I know it's different. Alligator tastes almost like chicken, at least that's how it seemed to me in Jackson. Long time ago, when I worked for US Companies. I love the nice steaks in the USA. In Tulsa is a nice restaurant. In the spudder, the best steaks ever.

We keep the whole frog on some of the bigger ones. The smaller ones don't have much to eat on them besides the back legs.

Believe it or not, the two frogs that we catch around here are bullfrogs and pig frogs. The pig frogs oink like pigs. I caught a bunch of pig frogs last night. They are a little smaller frog and a little better eating. Thanks buddy and take Care! 🙏

how big of a catfish is too big to keep?
I'm not a fan of keeping the really big ones. They good to eat but I prefer the smaller ones to clean and eat. It's fun catching them big boys though!

We clean the whole frogs sometimes. Not much meat on the rest of the frog.

Tara is a huge fan of frogging. She don't miss many. Drake has some pretty good hands too. We were looking for the Rougarou and Nutria man but no luck. I think they scared off us🤣.
