    I have been following you for a while now, nate, and I have to tell you this blooming solution that you let us in on is amazing. it's been 3 weeks, and the colas on this plant have made a jump into hyperspace. It's a game changer. Thank you, my brother

    • @julianspiegler8252
      @julianspiegler8252 11 дней назад

      Do you spray it still while it has colas on it? Or are you just trying to avoid spraying it on the buds?

    • @Frostyfarmer880
      @Frostyfarmer880 11 дней назад +1

      @julianspiegler8252 No, I'm not hitting the buds , colas, just the fan leaves, and I make sure the under side of the leaves are hit too. it really helped my girls start putting on weight .it works better than any bud inhancer I've ever used .good luck, and I spary my girls when the light goes off. I'm on an 18 - and 6 light source

      @@Frostyfarmer880 Thank you a lot sir!
      Have you ever tried spraying silikate? Especially with lst in combination it's fire for growing thick strong plants. Allows the plants to take more nitrogen in and regulates the amounts of phosphor the plants take, so it won't get phosphorus burn as easy as without. The nodes look like they did some solid muscle workout after using this 3 weeks in a row.

    • @Frostyfarmer880
      @Frostyfarmer880 11 дней назад +1

      @julianspiegler8252 No, I've never used silicate. over the years, Mammoth was what I used for a spary, but to be honest, I think if your growing environment is on point without any temp changes and your R H stays consistent our plants will grow better than any thing that we put on them I also found that if you are growing autos the best thing to do is low stress train and than leave them alone they will grow way better . Less is more when it comes to autos . And photos will grow no matter what they can take a beating and still survive I think the most important thing is mycorrhizal fungi for your plants roots but if your plants is already growing you have to get it down to the new roots on the bottom . Good growing

    It's nice to see a former weed grower taking that knowledge and applying it to vegetables. Now that the bottom is dropped out of the cannabis market, there's so many people who just quit farming, and it's sad. I say that if you have a greenhouse you can make just as much money selling tomatoes and cucumbers in the off-season that you ever did with weed and it's less work. But nobody wants to do that, because it's not sexy, I guess.

    Oh Nate... THANK YOU for this! I haven't figured out a place to make the Fish Fertilizer yet due to the smell. I"m "smell sensitive", love the wonderful natural smells in the gardens, plus there's a ton of wildlife in my rural area, which I didn't want to attract, and it just takes so long to make. So I needed a good source of excellent Fish and Kelp fertilizer for this season and have been relying on Fruition's blend, which not only isn't as pricey as others, it's much more digested-- almost a sweet smell to it w/ just a touch of "ocean", but as you know, Fruition is ceasing sales August 27th. YIKES! And now... "Here it is, LOL" Just in time, you've provided the solution! I couldn't thank you enough!!! Another Raven coming your way soon 😁

    Hey Nate, thanks for another great video!. I have a quick question.
    Is there a reason you are using a pillow case to filter out all the solid afterwards in this instead of putting all the materials into a paint strainer like you do with the aerated compost tea?

    • @gardenlikeaviking
      @gardenlikeaviking  Месяц назад +1

      yes because when we are spraying through a backpack sprayer or pump sprayer we need the solution filtered really finely otherwise the sprayer will get clogged and its a real hassle... the pillowcase is very fine and the paint strainer is not fine enough

    Question - If its raining everyday for a week and i have clay soil that drains slow , should i not spray that week? I feel like i need to but i dont want to over water my plants. Also is it best to wait for a few dry days to fertilize, like if it rains after i fertilize will it wash it away ?

    • @gardenlikeaviking
      @gardenlikeaviking  Месяц назад +1

      that's the great thing about foliar sprays is that it doesn't really matter what the soil moisture is like because its such little volume of liquid... just a misting... unless everything is totally waterlogged then its best to wait

  • @GorgeDuck52
    @GorgeDuck52 21 день назад

    It’s worth noting that the harvesting of bat guano has had significant impact on the ecosystems of their caves and over-harvesting and/or unregulated harvesting has led to precipitous declines in bat habitat and populations around the world. It really is not a sustainable or readily renewable resource for us to be using in our gardens.
    In order for bat guano to be usable as a natural resource, it has to go through a significant fermentation/aging process that often requires years or even decades of buildup and breakdown within the cave, and when it is extracted, it wipes out the entire ecosystem of biological life, from bacteria to arthropods and other small creatures that depend on it, within that cave. Furthermore, if harvesting does not follow strict protocols, the human disturbances can cause significant loss of bat pups (the babies) and cause whole colonies of bats to abandon that cave system due to the human threats and disturbance.
    Unfortunately, there is currently no recognized governing body that oversees and certifies whether guano harvesting in different countries is being done in an ecologically and sustainable manner, so we never really know if the products we buy are causing more harm than they are worth for our gardens. We really should try to find a more sustainable source of these nutrients, or at current rates of extraction and under current policies, we will continue to see a rapid decline in bat populations and the ecosystems that depend on them in our near future.
    Fortunately, the impact of harvesting seabird guano seems to be far less detrimental and can mostly be done in a sustainable manner.
    Absolutely, bat guano is a fantastic nutrient for our gardens and farms, one that would be invaluable in an ideal world. Unfortunately, however, it far, farm far from being sustainable or renewable. And we are causing far greater harm to these dwindling bat populations and their cave ecosystems than it is worth, just for the benefits it gives our own personal situations of growing food. We need to be conscious of the impact our purchasing decisions have beyond just how they benefit us.

      if you have the money to invest then the Guano fertilizers are superior by a pretty healthy margin... the main advantage of the banana bloom is that its virtually free and everyone has access to it... it works great yes but nowhere near the same horsepower as this solution... if you only make one then make it this one for sure!

    I hear the guanos are very bad to breath in, hence my concerns with buying them, but I've heard good things. How do you deal with them and the dust?
    However, if we are talking about a fish-rich source, we technically could do a humanure after eating a bunch of high-quality wild fish. This got me thinking maybe I should do a few different humanure buckets based on what food source is eaten... This could be an interesting experiment....
    The thing is though, `didn't you mention that the Fish fertilizers aren't good in flowering/fruiting, because of the higher levels of Nitrogen? Interesting how that wouldn't be in the Gauno then...
    EDIT: Yeah the Gauno is higher N, especially compared to P-K, so I'm interested in why you recommend that?` I'm assuming a lot of other beneficials? But it still seems like we would need more Potassium, and less Nitrogen, no?
    Thank you!

    • @urferwgdhf

      Before ripening, we can use an infusion of ash with the addition of citric acid to neutralize it.

    • @gardenlikeaviking
      @gardenlikeaviking  Месяц назад

      actually the plants always want the nitrogen and especially at this point in the season it will keep things green and producing well... the only exception to this is cannabis in which case things are very different... humanure works well if you have the facilities to properly digest and deal with it...

      @@gardenlikeaviking How is Canna affected by higher N compared to other plants? is it that too much N would affect flower growth?`
      Also, wouldn't foliar spraying that during flower have issues with is since it's a consumable product that is inhaled? You had mentioned `you stopped spraying your food a few weeks before harvesting, so would you say it's the same for `those types of medicinal herbs that you `inhale? This is why I mentioned my Lavender, because Figured it would affect it if I sprayed at all during the flowering period. Would it be the same for Canna then? Would you stop spraying a few weeks prior, or would you just not spray at all during flower, or is there a certain point you stop?
