If you don't have a heat gun you can use oven heated sand and a funnel. Cap off one side of the pipe with a rag stuffed in it and tape. Pour the hot sand into the pipe and bend it and let it set. Then pour the sand out and wash it. You can be a little more aggressive with the pipe as the sand will not let it kink
@@gardenlikeaviking yea the garden looks amazing, anyone that denies your methods is a fool. Thanks for the videos and information. One might say there's some secret electro culture in there hahahahaha
I just finished gathering all the materials for making all of this. I’m very excited to get started putting all the inputs I’ve made to their maximum potential.
Nice touch explaining the optimal timing of starting the brew and when to use it based on the obligatory attendance of the Saturday live stream. 😉 Bravo!
Just when you think you have learned it all...then comes another video from the viKING of gardening, as usual thank you for your knowledge and sharing it!
Thanks Nate, some day, some day I'll need a bigger container, it's not a pipe dream. I use a 100 watt fish tank heater in a 30 litre bucket to stabilise the temperature and brew it in my kitchen, its still a bit chilly here some nights outside.
AWESOME NATE! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ Note 7 Hearts for Completeness! I might not have the huge thriving Viking garden that NATE has, with all its variety of Nutrition Dense, delicious YUMMY plants. But it doesn't stop me watching the excellent video. I am for sure will be sharing this video with my sister and first cousin family overseas, they have huge areas they could use this idea. I always share all your videos with family and friends. Thank You so much for your time. To share such experience and knowledge. Your channel is growing in leaps and bounds. That is so fantastic 😻 Much love from South Africa 🌍 🇿🇦
Wow! I'm going to get this awesome setup going this season AND share it with a pal whom is very handy and told me he wanted a simple and cost effective way to feed his garden. Thank you Viking... you are helping to equip so many people by sharing your solid knowledge, skills and wonderfully effective innovations like this!
How's it going Nate? I guess I should have watched the video first, but that's okay. I don't mind supporting you bro, but you answered my question in the video😂 . Thanks again my brother
I've only just found you and it's been a real eye opener.. I live in Greece and the soil is very poor, rocky and dry. I grow herbs, tough flowers and let the wild plants flourish. I don't grow vegetables as the soil is shallow and we often are without water for several days at a time. I grow as many drought tolerant plants as I can. I'm trying to improve my soil with my home made compost but it's not enough. Your liquid fertilizers are going to really help. I've already started a barrel with borage and my comfrey will be big enough to cut soon. Thank you so much - I feel there's now a solution to my problems. Hugs!
I spent time in Greece in a small village named Paleros near Lefkada.... it was an amazing couple seasons teaching scuba diving!!..... so hot and dry in the summer but the food and culture is amazing!!
We've lived in western Crete for 12 years but have been coming here for over 20 years. Our garden is small as we have an old village house but keeps me busy and happy. I have a question: I'm cutting back a huge, woody rosemary before it falls over! I've put lots of the softer prunings on the compost heap but there's far too much of it. I don't have a shredder and cutting it into small pieces by hand to use as a mulch is too difficult as I have arthritis. Any other ideas? Hugs from Crete!
I love it!! I am following for a while and so far everything works like a charm in my Garden, great growth, Plants look very healthy. I even have a Apple Tree that got girdled by a Rabbit early in Spring and there was very little hope it will survive but now it has lots of new Growth above the grafting and seems to restart. But I also do have a Question. What do you use for Tomato or Peppers when they start flowering and fruiting? Or any fruiting Plant for example? No more Fish fertilizer at that point as I understand. Would love to hear back from you or maybe you could mention it in one of your Videos maybe? All the best to you and please keep making those wonderful Videos.

I was on the other side of the 101 in the Honeydew area... sometimes I really miss those days!... so much incredible knowledge and experience up there!
Thanks again, Nate, for such a great, no frills, to-the-point, instructional video. Question, why a pillowcase for this one compared to a paint strainer bag?
The pillowcase never bursts with such weight and pressure of the larger amount and plus the fine mesh keeps the final product free of sediment... using a mesh strainer for the bigger brews and I always end up with large amounts of silt all over the place to clog things but with the pillow case that never happens
@@gardenlikeaviking Okay great. I was just browsing Amazon, looking for mesh material to make a good filter. Would like to use this in a drip system if at all possible. Do you have any experience? I imagine it may be difficult not to clog the emitters.
Thanks for another great video. Hopefully someone here can help me. Through a series of blunders of my own doing, I made my calcium acetate at a 6 to 1 ratio instead of 10 to 1. Should I change the dilution rate when I use it or just remake it? Thanks for everything! Keep thriving!!!!!!
no you don't need to change anything just strain it and use it as normal... really its just a waste of eggshells thats the only downside 10 to 1 is already total saturation

Thanks so much for sharing this set up. My question is, how is the pressure on the submersible pump? Will it provide sufficient pressure to connect a very long hose to cover 1/4 of an acre in area?
I have it connected to a 100 foot hose and this pump is plenty powerful enough to make it happen at good pressure... its not cheap but its the best one I've ever found and I've used many... link in the description
@@gardenlikeaviking very helpful, thanks again! I have been wanting to do this for awhile, & now I feel confident it is worth the investment as it takes me a couple hours to do now with watering cans.
Nope. Once anaerobic you need to start over. You can still use it. Most of the Jadam fertilizers are anaerobic and still useful. Just dilute and try to keep it on the soil more than foliar feeding.
Hey Nate @gardenlikeaviking , help! I can’t find thin wall 1/2” pvc!!! I thought I did but the dude at Home Depot was wrong & I didn’t know better until I got home, lol. I researched it & schedule 40 is NOT thin wall & nobody carries schedule 30 so any suggestions plz!?!?! I got all the fittings but don’t know what to do now… Cpvc is different & would require different fittings & cement, I’m so bummed out & frustrated. I’m gonna research cpvc & might try it or some braided tubing & figure out a weight & different method to hang the compost pillowcase, idk. Plz forgive me if I came across like a leather cheerio 🙏🏻❤️
I have a brewer that I use in a 32 gallon garbage can put it all comes apart so I can clean it. I did exactly what you did a few years ago except without the labs and it really didn't work that well. I even have a microscope or I could see the little guys in there。 also tried the JDM and didn't get a lot of bubbles on that.
It can be used straight yes the plants will love it, but it is not necessary as a 1 to 5 ratio is plenty strong enough or even a half and half ratio. It will help you spread the microbiology further.
if that works for you great but the sand will retain too much heat and just melt the tube and also will be very difficult trying to get all the sand out of everything and it will clog the sprayer emitter when using... plus it just isn't necessary if you take it slow... but thank you for the suggestion maybe someone will need to do it that way!

How would you change the recipe if you wanted a 50 gallon drum to have healthy bacteria and fungus while also using the same 50 gallon drum as the main water storage? I don’t want to empty the drum every time I feed and water my plants because I don’t have that much of a need for 50 gallons at once but still want the water to be biologically active perpetually.
