- A young man was struck and killed by a speeding SUV that police say ran a red light in the Hyde Park neighborhood of Los Angeles Tuesday night.

Yes, this happens every second…running red lights all day and all night. Why? What is so important that people feel it’s necessary to run the reds? People can’t wait a minute for the lights to cycle through? People can’t wait 1.5 or 2 minutes? It’s minutes folks….not an eternity

My cousin passed away, he was a 21yr old. Please pray for my family. He left behind a mom, a father, a sister, a brother, a girlfriend (soon to be fiancé) nephews, aunts, cousins and an army of people that love him! He was a good person, the best one I’ve ever known.
My siblings and I were hit by a car who ran the red light in 1989.... in the city os Downey...I lost my son due to the impact I was 21 weeks pregnant ....😢😢❤ . SO PEOPLE STOP RUSHING YOU DONT REALIZE THE PAIN YOU CAUSE TO FAMILIES....A FOREVER PAIN...SLOW DOWN.🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

Just don't run red... it's not worth it. I had a friend's dad run a red and he got messed up real bad -was in a coma for a few days but when he woke up he was paralyzed from the neck down. He was an older guy and he wanted to pull the plug as he needed machines to help him breathe. He was pretty active for his age and he didn't want to burden his fam or live the rest of his days in a hospital bed. It was truly sad. One minute you are fine, driving, running errand, and a split decisions literally can end either your life or someone else's. Just don't run it. The worst that can happen is some jerk will mad honk at you bc you stopped on a yellow. And it's bc ppl do run it that I always check 4-ways intersections if the traffic is sparse -bc another car can come out of no where.

I crashed there once on to a pole I was being chased by blood gang members they crashed further on Florence saw them hopping and running away from scene injured cops came to my crash site

It's so unfair how this world is. I bet that person who died was just going to work or coming FROM work or school or doing a simple errand for himself or a family member. And just because the SUV driver had a better, safer, and newer car, he survives it even though he was the one solely at fault. And now the deceased's family is going to grieve unnecessarily for their lost loved one for the rest of their life, just because the victim couldn't afford a better car because he wasn't as rich or as fortunate as the SUV driver. ..I currently drive a 25-year-old car and I would surely hope that people would be more careful out there in the streets, but you really can't predict or control others. I know I gotta get a better, more expensive, not to mention safer car, but it's not like I am a spoiled, entitled child. A lot of the kids I see these days driving new, even semi-expensive cars, really puzzle me how they can afford it, if not for their sheer luck of scoring a great paying job, or their mom and dad is helping them big time.
Thank you for at least being man enough to stay lots of others run away when they accidentally kill someone. Do your time take your punishment learn from it. This will stick with you for the rest of your life and there's nothing you can do about it but warn others about your past mistake.

The way people drive these days. It sucks to see something like this. People need to take into consideration. Unless it's an emergency there's no need to rush. I see so many drivers ignoring basic traffic laws. Like if I had a $1 every time I saw someone not do basic traffic safety/laws. I'd have a really nice chunk of money. the sad thing about this is that some people don't learn from this because this speed fatality problem happens all the time. We need tougher laws there is no other way.

It stinks how life plays out. You never know when your time is up, I suppose. You could be driving when all of a sudden some rich kid with zero responsibility or respect takes your life and his will continue on, and he'll make more than you ever would during the time frame you were alive. Life is such unfair and there's little justice, if ever. They say god will be the ultimate judge but in truth, even then you have little to say or do about your circumstances during this life.

@@Thekingisback-du4jn no, I don't think so. It's just sometimes you get lucky and things work bad for someone else but very unlikely from what I seen and experience in my 40 years on earth. From what I seen, you can be as bad as you like and you'd have very minimal, if any, consequences in life. Not sure why that is, but I guess that's the way things work.

I just bought my BMW a few weeks ago, the car is very fast if you drive it that way. Yesterday a young speed demon was driving so fast he almost caused a collision as I was making a left turn with my kid in the car. This situation is a real eye opener for everyone, I definitely wouldn’t want to be in this guys shoes. RIP to the driver of the Honda Accord 🙏🏽🕊️

At least the 23 year old stayed and didnt try running. It’s so dangerous on the streets of south central cause people are constantly running red lights. Especially for people yielding to turn. Cars will speed through on the red while someone is trying to make that turn. Happens daily

This is frustrating. Innocent people are dying because of reckless drivers. My daughter was with her father on weekend and her father and he's friend were drinking with my daughter around. They decided to take the party to hes cousins house. The friend was driving they both were drinking more in the car while driving with my daughter in the back seat. The friend ran a red light hit another vehicle in front of a cop car. They both got arrested took my daughter to police station I was working I got the call I was terrified. Long story short her dad was charged with child endangerment. And charges got dropped because he was not driving. It was a slap to my daughter's face and mine no consequences. Our system is failing us too many people are getting killed. Not saying that this man that killed that innocent driver was drinking but he was driving reckless and not following road rules.
If you take a life then your life should be in prison for life. Life for a life. He will get about 5 years and be out while this man’s family has to mourn forever.
