  • Howdy! Here is my most awaited rose garden tour for the month of June, it’s mostly David Austin roses first flushes and some varieties in between blooms. I hope you enjoy the show with my voice over as my tryist to be very descriptive on each roses habits and characteristics.
    I am a Dental Assistant, a cat momma, and love gardening. I am close to Canada border and my climate experience would attest that my zone is dependent to what’s going on in Canada 😂, so My zone is more of 7b a lot of times than 8A. I specially love English romantic roses, English style of gardening, meaning balance clean structural gardening designs,
    and of course houseplants! Drop me questions and I will share you my personal journey tips on growing them. Enjoy watching and don’t forget to subscribe. Have a great day folks!

    Very exciting to watch your video of beautiful roses! I planted five this year. They are small but doing great. I hope they look half as good as yours in 3 years!! I have an Old Garden Coupe D'Hebe. It's the only one that hasn't bloomed, but I expected rhat. Next year, though - watch out! It's climbing on its trellis, currently, so I have very high hopes that I'll see those cupped pink blooms next summer! Edit: Great job giving us information!! Perfection!

      Is D’Hebe a one time bloomer?

    • @graedot
      @graedot Год назад +1

      @@IsshaGreenThumbing Yes, it is. It's probably not for everyone. I have a degree in history and wanted a historical rose. I'm blending it with a more modern rose on a very sturdy trellis my husband made me, specifically, to fill in for the season it isn't blooming. It's also known to get black spot once it's done blooming. All that being said, it has a beautiful old rose fragrance, I'm told, and beautiful pink flowers. It's also my granddaughter's "rose" in my grandkids' garden. If it doesn't work out, at least I'll have tried!!

    I am 99% positive your unknown yellow rose is Rosa 'Sunsprite' (syn. 'KORresia', 'Friesia'). Although the yellow rose shown starting min. 7:03 looks so much like the two of the "Friesia" I own, I wanted to check my pictures before I could let you know.
    Anyway, I enjoy your videos and look forward for more! Wish you a wonderful 2024!

    • @IsshaGreenThumbing
      @IsshaGreenThumbing  9 месяцев назад

      I am leaning towards Sunsprite myself but simply I am not sure. I replanted this rose in the mid heat of summer from a co workers mom who got evicted in a home she was renting for 65 years. It’s a very old rose with such beautiful vibrant big yellow blooms. I felt bad of it getting shoveled by construction workers.

    • @K.KleopatraK.
      @K.KleopatraK. 9 месяцев назад +1

      If a rose is beautiful and may even have a pleasant scent it would be indeed a sad thing to leave it get to waste. Taking it was a good thing.
      Ayhow, about the rose you own SUNSPRITE is also a fairly old rose with fairly large flowers but perhaps you have the 'Nacogdoches' aka “Grandma’s Yellow” rose? It will make a better sense in this case.. Or you may have the "Julia Child" or the "Arthur Bell' or the Rosa Julia Child aka Absolutely Fabulous rose. (?) I am very curious which is.
      Anyhow, some youtube channels are specialized in indentifying most of old roses. These specialits/ old rose lovers have made a list with all the lost and found roses. @@IsshaGreenThumbing

    So, why don't you like Gertrude Jekyll?

    • @IsshaGreenThumbing
      @IsshaGreenThumbing  7 месяцев назад

      Theres’s nothing special to it’s bloom color in my opinion, other varieties have much to offer in colorations and how they transition in different stages. Also it is THE most thorny rose, it is a black spot magnet, I don’t care it’s growth habit too, DA listed this rose both as climber and bush which is very misleading because it’s one same plant and it does like to climb. I bought mine supposedly as bush and it grows looomg cane, if I cut it short it won’t bloom much. I’m sure other people loves her but I just don’t feel it.

  • @PilotCristina
