  • Discover the magic of Ojo de Liebre, where the once-endangered Pacific gray whales give birth, rear their young, and mate in the warm waters outside Guerrero Negro. This beautiful interaction is a stark contrast to the past, where these gentle creatures were hunted to near extinction. Today, they show a unique curiosity towards the very beings that once threatened their existence. The locals involved in this highly regulated experience work hard to protect the whales and their habitats, ensuring the health and abundance of these magnificent creatures for generations to come.
Join me, my good friend Charlie Harmer of Silversharkadventures, and his group of cunning adventurers in experiencing one of the most intimate wildlife encounters that nature has to offer.

Thanks Adam. I’m sitting here crying my eyes out. This is an emotionally charged video. I love it! Your comment, “I don’t know where to look” says it all. They were everywhere and it appears that the love and respect is mutual. Thank you also for reminding us of the need to continue protecting these beauties. Now I have to buy more tissues. 😢

I always appreciate your kind comments Frances! I’m so glad you enjoyed this piece. I believe it’s important for us to connect to the natural world so that we can further protect it. Hope you didn’t go through too many tissues 😂

I have been enamored with whales since seeing "Cast Away" in 2000. It is a humpback whale [allegedly a humpback] that wakes up Chuck Noland as he sleeps on the remnants of his raft by blowing water at him via its blowhole. When he awakens, Chuck (and the audience) exchange a look with the whale, perhaps the same whale Chuck saw on his first night at sea after embarking on his (and Wilson's) endeavor to leave the deserted island that has been their home for four years. It is clearly evident the whale has awakened Chuck to alert him to the fact that they have reached a shipping lane and a tanker is right there to rescue him. One could surmise that the whale has covertly accompanied Chuck and Wilson on their journey to rescue since the first night when they met, to ensure they reach the shipping lane (at least that is what I like to believe). These are smart, friendly, and curious beings which display their tenderness to and trust in humanity freely and openly. As I watched this video and imagined myself in that setting, I wondered if I could leave that beautiful environment and return to 'our' world in the U.S. of many beings who are seemingly and increasingly less smart, less friendly, and less tender toward others.
Adam, Your photography is beautiful, your words are inspiring, and your apparent dedication to conservation and caring for wildlife is both stunning and admirable. Thank you for sharing this journey with us.

Absolutely fantastic. Had to get the tissues out! In addition to being impressed by these wonderful creatures, I was impressed with your clean language. These days, so many people think they have to use four letter expletives to express their emotions. When this happens, I turn the video off, but in this video, I only heard language that made me truly appreciate the content. Thank you for this and I have now subscribed to your channel.

The Wales were playing Peekaboo in the beginning. 💞💞💞🙏🏼
Can you pick off the barnacles when you can? I think they'd like them removed.
They are so beautiful. Like Many wild animals shown respect, they show so much love. Thank you for all your hard work, showing your experience. 💞💞🙏🏼 It shows that animals (Wales) play, are inquisitive and are so curious! Their so lovable.

Hola Adam !

    • @adamernsterwildlife

They come off naturally, can sometimes get rubbed off, or some just stay in for a long time!! But in reality they don’t seem to have any serious negative effect on the whales. They just hitch a free ride
