mom and pops used to own a delica 4x4. equipped with 4d56T, converted to left hand drive with 4 spd AT. It was a fun van to drive. Me and my brother used to learn driving on it. And ohh boy, its super economical with diesel consumption. it lasted for almost 2 decades in the family before mom and pops decided to let go of it. Such nostalgia
Theyre cheaper in the Philippines. You can find a TON of them for 3k in ph and I would also recommend to get all the parts there and fixed there. Save thousands of dollars. Then get it imported to US
I had a 2wheel rear wheel toyota van, Back in the day, I think it was a 84 and I bought and drove it in 93, i was 22 years old, it was before i started racing mountain bikes. Pretty much the same design, Loved it, totaled it driving in the snow. Always wanted a 4x4 one
I use my dads old 1994 toyota Hilux Surf SSR. And to this day its been my daily driver. I have barely had any issues and the only one I had was adjusting the steering wheel which was easily fixed for quite literally a few bucks, its genuinely depressing to see most cars like these rusting at some random yard. They have so much potential to be something great.
why are these japanese van and mini trucks so popular and seen as unique in the west. They're the lowest tier vehicle here in south east asia. although i must admit with proper care and modification those cars can be cool tho.
You’re right. The cabin of this gen Delica(3rd gen) is usually very warm and uncomfortable. They do have backseat air vents but are very weak. All in all, it’s more of a commercial vehicle than a recreational minivan. However the chassis is rock solid and can go through rough terrains. They are the workhorses in multiple Asia countries.
in our region, the 4d56 parts are all around and pretty cheap too. we had a local release of a trimmed down delica from mitsu and kia, no 4x4 . came with 4x2 setup. engine and interior are the same but the exterior has some unique designs. it was very reliable, mom and pops used to own one. Lasted almost 2 decades in the family.
@@tg13fire *correction, it is not "semi" reliable but rather very reliable engines. Alot of the vehicles that came with the 4D56 still run on the roads despite not being well-maintained usually especially the N/A ones. They were that tough.
Bros got a whole ass terrace on the back of a Delica 4x4 😭😭😭
Terrace?
@@bxck balcony
filipino too?
bikes inint

Till 1995 mitsubhibishi was way ahead of its time since then they went backwards till date
Mitsubishi should bring this van back
Mitsubishi, a company that slashes its amazing cars and never listens to its customers.
@@KaranveerSingh97 I think Mitsubishi Delica is still produced in Japan.
I love your videos! keep them coming ❤
Americans should try and import the ones released in the Philippines if they want a stock left hand drive delica
Yeah, most of those Delicas are locally made there. But there are some imports that were converted to LHD
Would love to know the import costs of a bigger vehicle like this.
I think its like 3k to ship
Very cheap to you. But to us in South America... 💀💀💀💀
@@liebendeinsam😅😅😅😅😅
I would totally make this the paintruck for a post-apocalyptic movie
“This thing will go anywhere”
(Van gets high centered)
We’ll time to start pushing
With 7 passengers that’s doable
Idk, short wheelbase, wouldn't see that happening
Daily driver love it!
Those overhangs
I wish I had one
I looked at JDM 4x4 Diesel vans/campers. I think the cheapest I found was about $8K, average was about $17-22K. Really cool rides.

What year is this
What is the model of these wheels?
How often do you get Delicas in? I'm local
Yo!!! We get them in all the time! At least once a month. If you’re interested in getting one at a deal, call us and mention that Battles sent you!
Dont forget the heated front seats lol
I used to drive old Colt T120 with same engine placement as that Delica. A real manhood killer 😂
I want one
I always wanted a delica 4x4 i dont care if its manual or automatic
And what does it cost
That’s not a Kei van, it’s just a normal van.
Approach and departure angle say otherwise 😔

How far b4 it breaks down ??… not very
It's awesome until you have to do maintenance or fix the engine then it's real pain in the ass
Little diesel huh how much foot pounds of torque does that little guy put out and how reliable are they can you get parts form here?
Its not lifted, thats just how she be!!
4x4 same platform like Pajero/montero SWB
Take this vid down. I’ve been looking for one for a bit. You’re going to drive the price up. Haha
All the cars I want I cannot get in America.

They usually become low tier vehicles here since the rarity or expensiveness of the parts. Supply and demand I guess
No and yes. The delica and known in the phillipines l300 sucks. But the HIACE 3rd and 4th gen is the BEST 5th gen sucks
I didn’t know japan drives in the wrong side of the road
Far superior to anything GM, Ford, or Chrysler could ever conceive!
I will say, American minivans had their place, but Japanese vans would have taken over if they were sold here.
I got a jeep that says you can’t go where it can go.
Well yeah why would you take this thing to a jeep shop?
Send it my way if you needto make room on yr lot, please. Hurry!
It's a Porsche in the back. A Back porch....
I don’t think it can go on rock crawl trails.
$500???
I’m wondering with all that heat coming from the top of the engine it’s a wonder the passenger or even driver don’t feel all that heat on their butt

Doesn't even have lockers Wym, or a winch.
give it to me
Unstoppable until something breaks and it's out of commission for who knows how long because parts scarcity
This thing is pretty cool though
Can't go anywhere
People will go crazy for this van if it was available in Nagaland
They do not have good engines
Idk, the 4D56 engines (N/A or Turbo) were pretty reliable piece of mechanical engineering many in my region agrees on
@@padorukurumi6572 yea but having a semi reliable diesel underneath the seat is an absolute nightmare. Expecially in north America

Yeah man I wouldn’t take that off the road unless my life depended on it my fourwheeler has bigger tires
Do not buy one of these, we have them in Australia and they are junk
