I'm the same! I'm 39 and in the 90's when I was a teen camel was HUGE and it looked terrible on my cool-toned skin. I love all the big teddy coats now but I know the colour just won't work! LOVE this channel, so pleased I discovered you. Now I understand I can wear a lot of different colours but ONLY if they are 'cool' colours as I call them.

And I’m 63 and have slightly olive skin and reddish light brown hair so I look best in Autumn colors. I build my wardrobe around Autumn colors and neutrals and it works very well. I love purples and blues, but they don’t suit me at all.

We can all wear all colours of the rainbow. in keeping with your advice, know which colours suit you best and wear those close to your face, on your upper body and wear the others on your bottom half. You Love Autumn colours but you feel they don’t suit you, well, wear them in trousers, skirts, shoes and combine them with your flattering colours in your blouses, jumpers, scarves... you get the idea.

Hi Lydia, I've been binging on your You Tube channel for the past couple of weeks and I love your style. I'm inspired to only buy the classic peaces this year and about to clear my closet out!! Can't wait! I'm trying to work out if I suit the same style as you in many of your outfits. I'm a rectangle shape but with sloping shoulders and a slight waist. Is it ok for me to ask what type of body shape you have?

I look like a clown in them or in wide leg pants. I know these days skinny jeans not so in trend but i dont really care about trends anyway. I prefer fitted clothes still. Thank you, Lydia, some brilliant and timeless tips here. You must be an old soul, as you value things that usually come with greater maturity (i.e. age). If you don't mind me saying, I'm not sure the colour palette you are wearing really flatters you, nor the background colours. Most blondes look better in navy, midnight blue or burgundy, rather than black, which can be too harsh on you. High contrast colours generally look better on those with high-contrast colouring, such as brunettes or redheads with fair skin. The lace colour and black sweater are, please forgive me, a bit nun-ish on such a beautiful young woman.Normally you are fashion-forward in a timeless sort of way. I hope this does not offend you, I am a big fan.
Maybe an unpopular opinion based on the comment section but I think that lipstick is way too dark for you and while the clothes are very classy, it is aging you by a lot. I get that it's easier to look put together with all those "neutral colors" but it looks like the wardrobe of a 40-60yo so I think it doesn't look age appropriate. I'm missing something youthful, playfulness or even a bit glamurous pieces to round up the look on you.

Great tips! I’m 56 but still like to look nice. I feel the same about autumn colours, great on other people but they wash me out.
