  • Don Carr presents the Seymour Duncan PowerStage 700 guitar amplifier. This miniature power amplifier is engineered to attain the best tone and performance from your pedal-based electric guitar rig. Small enough to fit into your gig bag at the end of the night, the PowerStage 700 still pumps out an astounding 700 watts - more than enough to power any combination of guitar cabinets. And the onboard stereo I/O, cab-simulated output, and 3-band EQ make it extremely versatile, no matter what pedals you are using for your front end.

    At around 3:38 Don says that you can completely unplug the speaker cabinet and just use the direct out. However, the quick start guide from Seymour Duncan states that you should "Always make sure that the channel you are sending signal to is connected to a speaker cabinet, otherwise you could damage the PowerStage 700."
    These two statements seem to contradict one another. I would tend to trust the documentation from the manufacturer, but Don and Sweetwater tend to know what they're talking about. Can anyone clarify which is accurate?

    Pretty slick! they could have done it one better by letting you upload an I/R for the cab emulation out!

      Turn it up as loud as you need it. I don't understand the problem.

    ya but how about the delays? does it sound like your going thru an effects loop of an amp, or do the delays sound like your running thru front of amp, like phasing sounding etc.?

    Is this 700 watts version does it work for bass guitar?

    Is it possible to use this with a speaker simulator like the Palmer PDI-03JB? I I know it does not require a speaker load, but the question is specifically if it works with a speaker simulator (in this case a passive one)?

    So its a power-amp with tone control and cab emulation?

      I'm curious about this too. I was recently looking at a 400 Watt Quilter and NOT ONE single gear distributor had a cab that could handle 400 Watts. The ones specifically for kempers will do it. But you WILL look like a classic rock fool. I might bite the bullet and go for the 170.

    can it play in mono?

    • @sweetwater
      @sweetwater  11 месяцев назад

      Great question! The two outputs are completely independent of each other, so you can use one output or both. Each output will provide up to 700 watts at 4 ohms.
      I hope this helps!

    Buy yourself a Crown XLS 1500 for around $350 and you have a 1500 watt amp.
