Matsimus we’re here for you. Also I wouldn’t blame you if you took a break I know how your feeling just don’t get really down if you do that’ll be end. Love from the USA 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Man seeing you tear up is hard, feeling your pain, but I can say with certainty that you were the best thing that ever happened to tank, his 7 years with you were best years of his life. You were an amazing owner and I guarantee he’s smiling down from Valhalla, if you ever, EVER need a friend to talk to you know my number, no matter the time give me a call. I’m there for you brother and you bet your ass I’m honouring tank
It may be very hard but putting a dog down is merciful. I had a 13 year old beagle be put down due to congestive heart failure. When we took him to the vet to be put down he didn't even struggle. He just put his head down in our hands and just closed his eyes. It's sad but it was for his benefit.
Having your last minutes in this life, spent in the arms of someone you love... it must be the most amazing gift and one we can give to our loved ones who are suffering. We should all be so lucky as to have an opportunity to go this way.
Ricardo Smarts exactly obviously the guy knows how to spell and just made a typo (probably) and that one dude goes on the saddest videos of yt and corrects their errors like bruh
You kept your boy from suffering. I don't care what anyone says. You did what you had to do. Mercy. Above all else, you gave him mercy. Its the hardest blessing to give, but you gave it. If I were in Tank's position, I'd want the same. You did the right thing, Mat.
I honestly believe that spirits exist. I had a 13 year old beagle be put down about a year ago and strangely the day after the lights on the fan in the room he slept in stopped working. It may have been coincidental but I feel that I can still hear him bark on occasion during my sleep.
Thanks for sharing Tank's story. I had an older pet who suddenly lost control of his rear legs. He could move them but had no strength. That was surmountable, but he also lost the ability to release his bladder & bowels. He could not release & would have required catheterization & a colostomy operation. The vet suspected a brain or spinal lesion. They could try expensive exploratory surgery but no guarantee & a poor prognosis. He was thirteen & had been perfectly healthy up until that day. Boom...it just hit him. So I brought him home for the weekend where he got lots of hugs, cuddles, & all his favorite food & treats. Monday the vet came to the house &, in a very quiet, peaceful, & dignified way, we said goodbye. My world was rocked for several months. I would have spent whatever I could keep him going, but it's all about quality of life. Mine was thirteen, Tank was twelve. They both had full lives & they wouldn't be happy any other way. Apologize to no one. You did what was right for you & Tank. Love the Tank etching. Chin up, Matt. Tank will be waiting on the other side.
ive been with a lot of dogs and its hard to be happy when they pass but I think you made the right choice I don't think the dog would have been happy being a "vegetable"
You did the right choice, however difficult it was to make. I'm sharing a tear with you right now and I fully understand exactly what you are going through. My boy is 9 years old and I know the day when I have to make the same call - and I'm not looking forward to that day at all. Non dog owners really can't understand just how close connection you share with your dog.
it's never easy losing a friend, when i lost my beloved german shepherd Ingrid to cancer, it took me quite a while to get over her. the only thing that consoles me is the thought that she didn't have to suffer anymore... it's been over 20 years now and she still has a special place in my heart... now i've got 17 dogs and i love each one as if they're my own kids... dogs are very special... hope you find a new friend, i'm sure tank will like it... he wouldn't want to see you lonely for a long time...
Just lost my 10 year german sheperd "Sasha" a couple of weeks ago bud...trust me I know what your going through. Here's to you and all others who have lost their best friend.
Dude, A year later, I still shed a few tears about my favorite dog I lost last year. You hit the nail on the head about your connection with Tank. I cried with you, my friend. I know that feeling. Great video and RIP Tank! Rescues are awesome. My wife drove 14 hours at my behest to rescue 3 brothers from a kill shelter 2 states away. Although not replacements for Mickey, they have helped heal the pain. My best to you my friend!
So sorry for your loss Matt. I lost both of my cats within a month of each other and it was one of the worst times of my life. The pain doesn’t go away but time is a healer. You gave Tank an incredible life when you made the decision to get him from the animal shelter. Keep your head up mate.
Matt as a fellow dog owner and soldier I completely can relate to what you went through.about 4 years ago my 12 year old German shepherd was doing fine and she was walking eating but when I put her outside she sat on my back lawn and she couldn't stand up she was in pain and she started to convulse and 2hours later she passed away in my arms on the lawn.i regret not taking her to the vet quicker because I saw her suffer in her last moments and I still regret not doing more I wish I could've put her to sleep in a more loving and painless way so you putting Tank down was the right choice because the dogs are suffering at that point and no one wants to remember the suffering are pups go through so Matt you did what you thought was right and remember Tank as that loveable goofball who made all of us who watch your channel smile.just remember Tank is up in Doggo heaven riding in a leopard 2 or challenger 2 eating his favourite dog treats anyway I hope this helps you stay strong Matt.
Rip tank, take a break and celebrate or keep going to produce videos, just don’t do against your mental will then it becomes a chore we want you to be happy in making these videos for us
I didn't expect to be punched in the feels today. This hits pretty hard. My mother and I recently lost two cats that we'd had throughout most of my childhood (I'm 25 now). I don't know if you believe in any sort of afterlife, but hopefully these words can offer you solace. By the edge of a woods, at the foot of a hill, Is a lush, green meadow where time stands still. Hits close to home. 8 years ago I adoted my dog, who just so happens to be named Tank. I grew up with a number of dogs and loosing them has always been extremely hard. I am dreading the day when I lose my Tank.
My brother. I'm an 8 year military man myself, and I have two pups. I can't imagine how hard that had to have been to make that call. It was the right call to make, not just for the family, but for Tank. He loves you, and he left this world loving you as you loved him. We all love you, brother.
My first dog had cancer, we did all we could for him but none of it worked and honestly I regreted putting him through the surgeries. I wish I had done what you did, you made the right choice even though I'm sure it was hard. You gave him a good life.
You took the only right choice, Mat.I got the same choice with my border collie, he got epilepsy. The full variant of course with where he was knocked out.Suddenly he got attack after attack, until we decided to contact vet.The Vet told us that we had two choices, either go on as is, or euthanize. We chose to end it there for he had suffered enough already. That dog was my everything, so it hurts. Never doubt for a second that you did the right thing.Very hard to watch this video, I can clearly see and hear you loved him.Loss of loved one's always is hell on earth sadly. But I know better times will come, for you too Mat.You will probably never forget, but memories fade after a while. All my best wishes, Mat, stay strong, but let out feelings if needed.
Don’t worry dude I’ve been through it too I’ve been with my dog my whole life and he had cancer and we had to put him down and it was a hard impact in my life and my family’s he was a boxer and his name was dexter. Love u dexter
I am sorry for your loss... I lost a dog 9 or so months ago and I felt the same way as you. We all stand by you. I can say that your dog at least didn't feel any pain before he passed. We all care about you and we hope for the best and your recovery.
No judgement necessary! It would only be selfish of you to keep him alive knowing what the problems were. You had his best interests at heart. RIP Tank. Better to have loved and lost and all that..... Take care Matt
I’m not a “hard” person, and I don’t cry often, but the loss of my dog that I had grown up with since I was 3 had me crying for literally 2 days straight, we feel your pain Matt so I shouldn’t worry about anybody who criticises you at this moment. RIP Tank
Time heals all wounds. My family has had a ton of pets (we currently have 4 dogs and 2 cats, but when our previous cats had kittens we might have had almost *20* cats) which means that we have dealt with many of them passing. Of course it sucks when one passes, but now, years later, we joyfully remember the time we spent with them. Don't be sad that Tank is gone. Be happy about the time you spent with him. :)
Hey mat I’m glad your not stay low again I can’t say enough we’re all here for you if you need us. 👍🏻 PS: Tanks up there telling all the old folks about the M triple 7 and the Challenger series
Take the time you need man. Every Soldier can lose a Man or a Dog in War time or Civilian life. Just be Strong for them as you Live and Fight on. *LEST WE FORGET.*
you made the right choice no person or animal deserves to suffer. I had to rehome my cat and I cried like a child cant imagine what your feeling but tank is in a better place
Our boys are supposed to live for ever and hearing your story and thinking of mine puts chills down my spine. Your call was the right one and anyother decision would have been selfish. Take care of yourself and your family, respect to Tank, the awesome dog
You choose right Matt, no one could have predicted how the Operation could have ended up. Thank you for sharing this and I hope you stay strong through the next few months and keep on going it's what Tank would and will want for you, you gave him a amazing life and shared how good of a dog he was to all of us. I'll make sure to donate.
I have 4 rescued dogs, and they are my children. I also work in a hospital, and I see family members having to make a similar decisions with their termly ill loved ones. Either way it is NEVER easy. Matt, your fans are here, and will always be here for you and your!
Thanks for sharing what was an extremely difficult thing to share. I said before we have had to put down two of our dogs in the past. The last one, named Jewel, was very special. My wife, my daughter and I was with her at the end. All three of us bawling our eyes out right after the she died. It is hard to lose one of your best friends so unexpectedly. It is great that you have so much online support as well. Keep on making your great videos.
You made the right decision. I had to make the same decision I had to have my wife be in the room I had to leave the room it's a hard thing to do I no how you are feeling. Tank is in a better place and not hurting..RIP TANK
Been in your position many times., mostly cats (very short lifespans). I was at work when my last dog got very ill and passed. I rushed home just to have to bury him. I got a Husky 2 years ago and we have the bond that you had with Tank. Not looking forward to her eventual passing. Don't worry though, Tank is waiting for you on the other side of the rainbow.
A wonderful caring man has lost a special friend. What is there to judge!? There is nothing to apologize for. Thank you for sharing a part of yourself. We are all better for it.
As somebody that has had a blood vessel rupture in my brain i can assure you the pain and convulsions are not something you want. He was probably in a lot of pain. You did the right thing. I had to put down my cat that got FIP with no cure. I was bawling my eyes out at the vets office, but glad i got to say goodbye. As the months went by i took in another cat in need of a home and gave him the same love and care. Looking back the joy of taking care of animals far exceed the pain of letting them go in my mind. Rest in peace Tank and take care Matt.
I had my 14 year old dog pass May 4th of this year. I have total respect for you and Tank. She passed infront of my door and i woke up to my mom crying telling she passed. Cried the whole time in the rain while i buried her in my backyard. I shed a tear watching this. RIP Gretta, 2007-2019
Great tribut! You did the right thing! Know that feeling when I lost my pet. Got a new furry friend but always remember her predecessor with love. Family members will ever be remembered in our heart of hearts. Head up!
Sorry for your loss Mat, enjoy the memories of all the good times you had with Tank. I’m a K9 Officer and I know exactly how close we can get when it comes to our pups. Thanks for all the great videos.
I'm sorry for your loss losing your best friend is irreplaceable. I lost my dog and hadn't had a dog in over a decade since. But now I'm going to get a husky puppy. I was so happy when I saw your dog Huskies are my favorite breed. So I was super sad what happened to your Tank .
Don't worry Matsimus, I love dogs but im not gonna go PETA on you. You did what you viewed was best for you and Tank and no one should shit on your decision.
I feel for you. My dog went with very similar symptoms, very sudden, and the vets said the same things. Similar age too. We had the same choice to make. Sad but inevitable. It's a year on now, and we have a number of lovely pictures and photos to remember him with. Still hurts a bit though.
No honest furry family owner could ever judge what you did. You knew Tank and he knew you would always look out for his best options. You're incredibly lucky you got to say goodbye. And Tank is incredibly lucky to have been part of your family. Just remember, he's always waiting for you. Watching out for you and your family.
Like a true Wolf Pack us fans will always stand by you and support you in any way possible and like a true sqaud, we are with you through the toughest battles. I am very sorry about Tank but he in a better place now and you gave him the best life possible and he will always be with us in spirit.
I just saw the video of tank and as a long time viewer it hurt me as well. What was more hard to swallow was a mil vet like yourself cry for the loss of a great companion. Stay strong
I think Tank would like you to adopt another dog and continue loving another animal. Animals, and especially dogs, do have an immense sense of care & love for their owners even when they sense their own end.
Anyone who's been through this knows this is the only way it goes down. Whatever the illness you cannot let them suffer ever. My respects, you even gave me a bloody tear 🐺🐺🐺
If it should be that I grow frail and weak and pain should keep me from my sleep. Then you must do what must be done. For this - the last battle- can't be won. You will be sad I understand. Don't let grief then stay your hand. For on this day, more than the rest. Your love and friendship must stand the test. We have had so many happy years, what's to come can hold no fears. You'd not want me to suffer, so, When the time comes, please let me go. Take me to where my needs they'll tend. Only, stay with me till the end. And hold me firm and speak to me Until my eyes no longer see. I know in time you will agree it is a kindness you do to me. Although my tail it's last has waved. From pain and suffering I have been saved. Don't grieve that it must be you who has decided this thing to do. We've been so close--we two--these years. Don't let your heart hold any tears.
No worries... Your fans are always on standby for support

Don’t worry dude I’ve been through it too I’ve been with my dog my whole life and he had cancer and we had to put him down and it was a hard impact in my life and my family’s he was a boxer and his name was dexter. Love u dexter
I feel you man. We had to put my little bro of a cat down in '2017. As you said, remember the good times. It really helps.
RIP Tank
PS: Tanks up there telling all the old folks about the M triple 7 and the Challenger series
My kitty in my lap as well...animals can be amazing companions.
Are you the person that dislikes his videos
Death is always a big deal when it comes to someone you love
Our boys are supposed to live for ever and hearing your story and thinking of mine puts chills down my spine. Your call was the right one and anyother decision would have been selfish. Take care of yourself and your family, respect to Tank, the awesome dog
You choose right Matt, no one could have predicted how the Operation could have ended up.
Thank you for sharing this and I hope you stay strong through the next few months and keep on going it's what Tank would and will want for you, you gave him a amazing life and shared how good of a dog he was to all of us.
I'll make sure to donate.
My condolences and love from Germany!
Remember. You didnt choose him.
He chose you!
To tank! *toasts empty food bowl*
Bestest Boi!
From a fellow gunner. My condolences
I’m crying and I didn’t even know him, but it’s so clear to see you loved him with all of you heart, and that made my cry ❤️rip Tank❤️
I have 4 rescued dogs, and they are my children. I also work in a hospital, and I see family members having to make a similar decisions with their termly ill loved ones. Either way it is NEVER easy. Matt, your fans are here, and will always be here for you and your!
"He maybe part of your life but to him you're his whole life" - some guy on Facebook
Completely understandable. Dogs are special creatures. Our bond with them is ancient and deep.
I love y'all mate, and no worries, all of us have got your back!
I'm sorry to hear this. I was shocked when i saw that first video.
A wonderful caring man has lost a special friend. What is there to judge!? There is nothing to apologize for. Thank you for sharing a part of yourself. We are all better for it.
I’m sorry for what happened and from personal experience I know how it feels to lose your best friend.
You made the right call, bro. God bless you and Tank, wherever he is. Stay strong.
No explanation needed Matt...this pint is for you!
RIP Tank, So sorry to hear about your loss
It's hard to loose a fur kid. They are so willing to share positive energy.
We love you brother. Keep on trucking on as hard as it can be.
Head up!
YES BIG MAN ITS HARD JUST DONT EXPECT TOO GET ANOTHER ONE LIKE THERE ALL LIKE US DIFFRENT GOD BLESS THE WHOLE FAMILY.
Rest In Peace Tank
goodest boy till the very end, we all salute you
Best wishes
*bestest
Sorry for your loss Mat, enjoy the memories of all the good times you had with Tank. I’m a K9 Officer and I know exactly how close we can get when it comes to our pups. Thanks for all the great videos.
Stay strong man, you did the right choice, it would be more painful the other way.
This left me very sad man.
To loss my first dog back in 2001 to 2016 it is hard for you and me.
Your doggo was the goodest boy too
I just saw the video of tank and as a long time viewer it hurt me as well. What was more hard to swallow was a mil vet like yourself cry for the loss of a great companion. Stay strong
I think Tank would like you to adopt another dog and continue loving another animal.
Animals, and especially dogs, do have an immense sense of care & love for their owners even when they sense their own end.
No
Anyone who's been through this knows this is the only way it goes down. Whatever the illness you cannot let them suffer ever. My respects, you even gave me a bloody tear 🐺🐺🐺
Be strong, I know how you feel. I've gone through the same.
i am so sorry to hear what happened. at least you shared 7 years with him.
Rip tank keep up the good work my dude.
Sorry to hear that- i lost my dog too and one of my cats. Its never easy- they are family.
If it should be that I grow frail and weak
and pain should keep me from my sleep.
Then you must do what must be done.
For this - the last battle- can't be won.
You will be sad I understand.
Don't let grief then stay your hand.
For on this day, more than the rest.
Your love and friendship must stand the test.
We have had so many happy years,
what's to come can hold no fears.
You'd not want me to suffer, so,
When the time comes, please let me go.
Take me to where my needs they'll tend.
Only, stay with me till the end.
And hold me firm and speak to me
Until my eyes no longer see.
I know in time you will agree
it is a kindness you do to me.
Although my tail it's last has waved.
From pain and suffering I have been saved.
Don't grieve that it must be you
who has decided this thing to do.
We've been so close--we two--these years.
Don't let your heart hold any tears.
You Did The Right Thing! You can't let him suffer and to tell the truth it's a shame we can't do the same for people.
When my dogs died I cried like a baby. I haven't had a dog now for 12 years
You made the same call I would have made , been thru it a few times , I had 7 rescue animals over the years . You just made me cry like a baby !
