Great review; whilst giving nothing away... Have set this adventure up numerous times complete with different starting worlds, different characters, and different starting rumours, every time the actions of the pc's have taken the adventure into unlooked for areas! each time the players never knew they were involved in the same adventure book... The true test of great source material and one of the best they ever wrote. ( I always used the UK English pronunciation of 3 syllables Kin- un-ir (ir as in irish): you could use it as a Vilani title and drag even more canon background into the game!) Started reading the Fate of the Kinunir on some online book then lost the bookmarked page! Need to finish the story...
See that "7 8 9" on the masthead page opposite the Table of Contents page? Usually the lowest number of a series like that is the number of the particular printing of the book. So this was likely the 7th printing of this edition. I wonder how you're supposed to pronounce _Kinunir?_ I (for some reason not even known to me) always pronounced it Key-new-NEAR.
Ah, the good old Kinunir, a classic ship that played a key role in quite a few adventures back in the day. On the subject of ships' computers (since it came up): I've always thought it interesting that we rarely see the biases of the times we live in, or the assumptions we make based on them. In the 70's computers were huge, so imagined future versions were also big. But just because they are much smaller today, there's really no basis to think this is somehow more "correct," and that they won't be huge again in the future, for reasons we can't even imagine now. Personally, I see no reason to explain away the Traveller rules as some kind of quaint anachronism. In any case, thanks for bringing this old relic back to mind!
In addition to your comments about computer size, I love the traveller computer rules in classic btw, the 'tonnage' is displacement tons ; an area of volume 5' x 10' x 10' per ton which is broom cupboard size. Now could you fit all your computing stuff including extenal memory storage, server space, multiple work stations (upto one per crew member), chairs to work from, spare parts, back-up systems tools etc into that area? (that's how i sell it to my players). The old ship plans of having a big 'block' named 'computer' did not help, instead of explaining most of the computer volume would be spread all over the place.
one of the only Traveller ship designs I like, even if I am not sure what the "fin" does [heat dissipation, maybe?] and if it is, in-universe, considered a failure
I don't always agree with your pronunciation of some of the TRAVELLER words, but hell yeah that sounds right and me a part time Bilanidin student it's embarrassing to admit I was never sure how to pronounce that name. Thanks!
Being new to Classic Traveller I really love & appreciate these vids. Thank you
Thanks for the kind words and thanks for watching.

Gods of space! Even in the Far Future people will commit espionage and treason for the smallest amount of cash...
I figured "kin-oo-near," myself. like "kin" for family, ooo or maybe long u, and nir like in Gungnir
