Not only is he a great Artist he is an outstanding Father. I think more men should be built like him. When he married my mom he took me on as his own and sent me to private college (4 years) thereby contributing to the woman who I am today. He has wisdom beyond his years. Always gave the best advice to me through high school and college. Most don’t know but he makes the best gourmet hotdogs that I use to eat as a kid. ( Gave up meat later). He use to be on stage on national TV one day and in the kitchen making me dinner the next day. Lol lol. I recall being at rehearsal for hours. They did it all! I think his optimism is what makes him and his high energy is bread into all of his children (4- two girls and two boys).
What a beautiful message. Thank you for sharing
Nathan and Arnett Leftenant were the horns of Cameo, and Nate was always a great dancer, and always hyped up the fans, I Love his energy. I miss them, and Cameo wasn't Cameo without The Leftenant Brothers, and Wayne Cooper.❤️🙏🏾❤️🙏🏾❤️
AGREED!!!!
Stuff happens. 😢
I loooved Nathan's overall energy--and, his "Ringmaster" command of the stage. But...saying he was a "great dancer" is taking it waaay too far. 🤣😂
I was born in 1963 , My strong area of Music , and I've Been Following Cameo My Favorite Funk Band Of All Time Since 1976 , , Rigormotis is my Ring tone 😎😎😎😎😎😎😎
Love this guy. When I think of Cameo, he is definitely part of that legacy.
Love to hear stories from the horses mouth! I wish they would talk about the impact of the late Wayne Cooper. Great falsetto!
Yogiman4293, Wayne Cooper, was a one-a-million type of singer. His falsetto will go down in history. The good part about it, is that, when you hear him sing, he may be able to sing even higher.
Saw Cameo in Gary, Indiana in 1980. They came with 9 or 10 group members and played on a tiny stage at the skating rink. They all stood on that tiny stage and gave it their all. Never forgot.
Really we where the opening act, it was at Screaming Wheels Roller Rink😂😂😂
I was there, ken what's up fam. The great times.
Cameo what a smoking hot group them brothers were the shit🎸😎🕶💰🔥
About Time For Nathan to talk.THANK YOU THANK YOU !!!!!!
Nathan handled this interview very well and I love how he spoke highly of Larry in terms of he threw no shade and even hinted at a possible reunion of sorts.
Nathan and Larry had great chemistry that was legendary!
IT'S SOO SOO SOO GOOD TO SEE YOU NATHAN!!!!!!! AWESOME CAMEO HORN PLAYER AND FOUNDING MEMBER!!!!! HOLLA BRUH!!!!!
I had the pleasure of meeting Wayne Cooper and later his family. Wayne was cool .
You are a very lucky person to have been able to meet the infamous Wayne Cooper. I considered him the parallel to Prince with the falsetto in 1979 and 1980 before he passed away. So rest in peace Wayne!!!!!
i seen wayne with the group when they had shake your pants
@@funkythangzprod. can you explain to me . WHAT MADE WAYNE INFAMOUS??? INFAMOUS is when you're known for doing bad things or someone U NLIKABLE.
There was nothing like the Cameo Horns...Ive seen Cameo @ least 10x thru out the years 70's & 80's & 90's...Nathan has always been my favorite member..
Brother NATHAN, I loved your hype when you introduced CAMEO, your stage presence was so important on the front line with brother LARRY, brother TOMMY, I always paid attention to your voice on the parts of cameo tracks, and you were the man who introduced the "DREDS" in your hair style, brother you were a blessing brother, so nice to see you and give your interview a true craftsman classic craftsmanship.
You are all great man! I love all of you thanks so much for your FUNK!
i was fotunate to see cameo perform at age 16 in san carlos ca. at the circle star theatre the first one i saw when the lights came on was nathan leftenant since then i've been keeping it hot ! love these guys and they are great performers. forever Cameo !
Great video. Love Rhine Mclin, Dayton Ohio Mayor, such a fun and honorable personality. Great interview. Great person. Great content.
THIS IS SOO AWESOME! I LOVE THIS DUDE! AWESOME HORN PLAYER! HE AND HIS BROTHER ARNETT!!! AWESOME TO SEE HE LOOKS GOOD AND IS DOING GOOD!
Love Nathan since knowing him from cameo
What's up Nathan you are here in my hometown Memphis Tn.Thanks for the interview.
Funk funk!!!!! Man so many great songs.. candy has been stuck in my head since 4th grade and i dont mind...thank you from so. California keep the great content coming.
This group played r&b rock soul reggea I was not on to Cameo until Sparkle that song turned me on to Cameo
Thanks for the interview!!
I love Cameo!! They touched many peoples lives through their music!! I’m so glad I lived in the time, space and FUNK of Cameo. ❤ 🥁 🎤 🎸 🎤 🎹 🎸 🎺 🎤 🎷 🎤
GREAT interview!!!!
Nathan if you can put youtube some old live performance of Cameo doing Funk Funk or Post Mortem. Audio or Video . PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE !!!!!!
One of favorite Cameo song is Cameo's dance from the Style album
When Larry blackmon wrote Insane he created the Cameo sound because Insane is similar to Pretty girls
love it
What's up Original Member Of Cameo (Nathan Leftenant), you're group is my favorite funk band and I've been a fan since Cameo came out in the 70's! Good that you're here in Memphis my Hometown!
When Arnett and Nathan was part of Cameo those were the best Cameo years in my book and the best music made was through those years. I have to say that after Style Cameo went into a more Larry Blackmon thing and they simply lost their funkiness and craziness in the arrangements which had that special magic and my favorite Album is to this day Feel Me
Good interview.
RIP, Wayne Cooper.
TheodorePendergrass, Wayne deserved better from his fellow group members. They, "forced" him away from them. WHAT A MISTAKE. THEY WERE, "GOOD," without him, but they were not, "Cameo," again.
Cameo were the Bomb
Garystreet6756, simply put.
Garystreet6756, simply put.
Nate was a bad boy. He used to set the stage for Cameo show.
Nathan you call it right by using Elton John because Bennie and the Jets got played on soul Rock pop and easy listening radio stations I said this before and I'm going to say it again and again Cameo Crown 👑America's favorite funk R&B and party Band 🎼🎵🎶🎙🎹🎺🎷🎸🥁
Rigor mortis & Post mortem sounds alike
Fact. ..Larry blackmon almost joined Mandrill as they drummer before cameo
mr show man of cameo
i wish she would ask better questions like why did you leave the group? was there a falling out?
I agree maybe he could have asked her not to ask him certain things on camera.
There was a falling out of a few band members with Larry Blackmon over royalties
I can match the Beatles 20 hits with Cameo 20 hits/Shes strange/for you/secret of time/word up/your're a winner/enjoy your life/alligator woman/better days/use it or lose it/
Replace this lady immediately .This man deserves an expert interviewer .
Lol. She was okay but definitely missed alot
Brother Nathan new way back then that the negroes were the children of Israel the bloodline Israelites of the Royal tribe of Judah...
Cardiac Arrest went gold ??? We All Know went gold ??? UGLY EGO WENT GOLD??? NO DISRESPECT .
You guys just glanced over the true history of cameo. You never explain why they went from a 9-piece band to a 3-piece band.... And it's disingenuous did not talk about the negative things... Like them boys raping that girl in the hotel in Gary Indiana and going to prison and that's why the band became a three-piece
She's a nice lady but a very poor interviewer
Cameo today is a complete Joke.
This women is the worst interviewer I have ever heard, man he deserved better.
God, this woman is the worst.
Very poor interviewer. She's all over the place
i like the guest , but this woman is not a very good interviewer!
How are you going to ask a question & turn around answer it before its actually answered? 😄
@@funkpill i cant answer my own question?
@@devans1817 I was referring to the interviewer 😄
@@funkpill oh im sorry i thought you were talking about me.
