The second Bad JuJu came out I started literally cackling. It’s been great since that slight buff. It’s a wonder how much such a seemingly tiny change has made.
It's a great choice for smaller maps but the medium and up it's not the best choice. Honestly I'm enjoying Outbreak Perfected and the BXR more this season.
I used it before it was good, since I loved the gun's feel. I am so damn glad to see it wrecking now, and am happy to have gotten all that practice when it was crap.
@@ghost-carnage8964 Well you might be in luck, light GG has the gun listed as craftable which means that it will probably be craftable either next season or the one after that. My guess is next season and Dares of Eternity will be removed in Lightfall.

Not just because of your voice, or the beliefs or philosophy’s align with mine, but because you and your team make genuinely some of my favorite content on the platform. You are level headed, funny when needed and surprisingly witty with it, and critical in a way that many other creators won’t dare to be or aren’t creative enough to express. These are the videos that set you apart and I love watching them. 99% of my time is spent in PvE, and what I run is largely set by things other than feel and usability. These videos help me understand how to better spend my PvP time and I thank you immensely for making them.
Can't wait. Pulses have been my favorite gun for quite a while now. Even making good use of 390s in 6s as people don't really expect them and they're very forgiving.
I took a shine to pulses way back in vanilla D1 even if they weren't the best back then, my first Legendary weapon was Super Pox VLO and I miss that weapon

If I had to choose only a single pulse rifle to be my primary for the rest of my life, it would be a hard choice between the BXR or the Bad Juju. They're both so powerful!

darkest before with elemental capacitor is godly, maybe i'm just biased because i got arrowhead brake with mine as well but i was sad to see it so "low" in this ranking
Chattering bone is an amazing weapon, I will die on this hill alone but it's a great feeling lightweight pulse that I love. I have only recently gotten to using it after I fell for bxr, which I love, but I wanted to get a kinetic one and I quickly learned that that there was only one legendary kinetic one. I got several rolls and I've been using a under pressure/rangefinder roll and it's great. Try a better roll and maybe you'll see where I'm coming from but great video ascendant, can't wait to see more!
I always love Nomad's videos because I relate so hard to the playstyle. I see myself in it constantly. ... When I see all the people he kills that look like they don't know what they're doing.
Hey Nomad, I know you'll likely never see this, but I know you put a ton of effort into the AE video which got kinda waylaid by Bungie announcing changes so soon. What would be awesome to see though, is a detailed breakdown of exactly why aerial combat is such a core aspect of D2's PvP. I suggest this because I've found many of my PvE friends simply don't understand what the problem is. A video from someone as knowledgeable as you going in depth on how it effects the flow of combat and feel of PvP gameplay is something that would be super useful as a resource to help educate the wider community of just what makes PvP in D2 so special, because a ton of my PvE friends (which, lets face it, is most of the community) really don't get why I love the PvP in D2 so deeply. Additionally, I bet a lot of the work you did for the AE video could be rolled into this discussion. Just a suggestion, but I would absolutely love to hear your takes and opinions on this topic, and would really appreciate perspectives to draw on other than my own and my like, two buddies who play PvP. Whether or not you decide to talk about this all, it would be awesome if you could let me know if you've seen this suggestion. Strawberries!! Also been using Juju since they announced Sunsetting. I'm sitting at over 8k crucible kills on it. The added forgiveness was much appreciated and needed. I do think it has kinda bad range tho. Which I suppose is understandable because it has steady rounds and hip fire grip. Just a little saddening because I lose duels to piece of mind,BxR, and NTTE more than anything. Goes to show it's a pulse meta tho. Anyways loved the vid! Keep up the content!
My favorite pulse is finally on top of someone's list. Legal Action should be in the great category. I get consistent two burst kills; arrowhead, accurized, surplus, and rampage. Darkest Before should be in the great category as well. It's a laser on console with arrowhead, ricochet, surplus, and elemental capacitor.
Awesome video and gives some consideration for guns to try. Love Vig Wing with an Arthrys build. Have to give Bad Juju a try sometime. Wouldn't mind seeing a full review! Current fave fruit is raspberries.

I was waiting for someone to make this, and hoping you would be to first to release since you're very clear and comprehensive. I've always like pulses, but ever since you made the syncopation video you made me deep dive into my vault, enclave, and whatever else is out there to still obtain to try things out myself.
im in complete agreement on juju. its been my favorite pulse/exotic since d1, everything about it felt amazing to use. pve and pvp. in d2, its been lacking in both fields. however with witch queen buffing exotic primaries in pve, and haunted granting the forgiveness in pvp, its my favorite gun again.
As a pve main, Ogma is my go-to energy weapon for almost every endgame mission where champion mods permit it. I have like six different rolls of it but I mainly run a Wellspring/Demo or an Unrelenting/Firefly, both work great. Ogma is one of my favorite weapons hands down.

I like how you opened by saying that an objectively bad gun can be great to some people because you put my favorite gun Jurassic Green in the bad tier. I've always loved the shooting feel of the gun and I have a 5/5 roll for me being the roll you showed but with a handling masterwork so it's a bit more snappy. I've always been impressed with how consistently I can comfortably reach people at the other end of map lanes and the recoil isn't too bad if you get its rhythm, and I'm on xbox so I get to worry about that recoil.
Ok, seeing you on solar trying to use collective obligation hurt my soul. The way it works is: you apply void effect to target, you suck up that void effect by shooting with le gun, and then u activate the perk when the big circle is lit, letting you know your effect is fully charged.
As soon as you mentioned graviton Lance I pulled a memory out of the far reaches of my mind of when I was grinding my Valor Rank and was absolutely dominating with the graviton

I started maining Stars in Shadow because of your ranking of it, and gods above and below, is it devastating. The roll I have on it is Firmly Planted, Headseeker Fluted Barrel and Alloy Mags with a Stability Masterwork. This thing shreds, and while I could use my other favorite 340 rpm pulse, the NTTE, I just have way, WAY too much fun with Stars in Shadow that it gets me excited to play Crucible with it
I really like that you're not afraid to revise your opinion and make adjustments as time goes on instead of doubling down stubbornly. Also, would you ever consider doing these style of vids for Scouts, Handcannons, SMGs, or Autos?
As a controller player I think Darkest Before is slightly underrated thanks to how good it feels running with Arrowhead + Ricochet + Tunnel Vision/Surplus + Elemental Capacitor. You can make out recoil direction with stasis or have absurd levels of stability with void and those clean sights made it feel impossible to miss as long as I was putting in the required effort.
I've been using Bad Juju for a while this season. Every time I adjust my loadout, I miss it. I feel like I can handle problems at any range with it and it just fuels my desire to drop nova bombs on points. I love it.
Quality vid! I never got used to the sights on messenger, but New Purpose with On Your Mark or Ophidians is close enough that it's my main pulse right now. It definitely needs help to perform well though

Man this video delivered as good as the first one did. Some of these were surprising but made sense, and your reasoning often aligned with my first impressions of the gun. The blurred gameplay when you make it to the elite / ruler categories are awesome as it adds suspense. I also enjoyed that, like last time, you left us with a surprise category. For anyone wondering The song in the background is in the beginning; It's: Laszlo - Airglow, going off in the back. Anyway, personally No Time To Explain, Darkest Before, The Messenger, New Purpose, Outbreak Perfected & Piece of Mind are probably my favorites of Pulse Rifles. (In that order.) Pulses may very well be my favorite kind of gun in the game, honestly. I do have a Gridskipper & I just got a decently rolled BxR so I might take a better look at those. Kind of wish Chattering Bone felt better, but honestly all of the Last Wish loot bar 1k and _maybe_ Transfiguration, did not age well at well, which is kind of a shame.
That shot at the Canadian housing market at the start hurts lol I like the video. As a pulse rifle enthusiast, I like them getting some attention over handcannons 24/7

The moment I realized that No Time to Explain was not the numero uno, I actually started smiling and grinning after realizing it was my absolute favorite pulse in the game since I got it from the mission in the Trophy Hall. Bad Juju, and Dragonfruit. I love these videos as they fit very well into my usual thoughts about many of the weapons that I get, keep up the great work. The light provides.
I used bad juju for the first time in over 2 years immediately after the patch and in my very first game i was chaining kills left and right which is something i cannot consistently do. I knew from that 1 game that this gun is an absolute monster and its just so fun to use too
I love my Legal Action II, I have an Arrowhead, Steady rounds, Heating up, Frenzy roll that I’ve used for a very long time now, and the feel of the gun just draws me to the pulse like no other gun in the game does. At the absurd range it packs, the really high stability my roll has combined with the handling and reload frenzy provides during and after duels, it makes for an amazing experience.
Just found your channel, thank you this video, while I don’t pvp aside from the occasional trials, I do appreciate your take and commentary on all the different pulse rifles. They are my favorite weapon type in the game and your video has given me a good idea on which ones I want to try and grind for. You definitely earned a sub from me sir.
New Purpose with perpetual motion feels pretty good even with the low handling and reload speed, and the bitterspite origin trait is basically free reload speed. Also, it has a recoil direction of 70, which means arrowhead brake will bump up the recoil to 100, unlike messenger's 90. This makes the New Purpose so good at hitting headshots, it's criminal. I understand that messenger is better because of it's stats and the fact that it can be adept, but putting new purpose in the okay tier feels like a low blow to me.
Nevermind the fact that with Arrowhead Brake, your mod slot is completely open to shore up the weapon with some other benefit, like Sprint Grip, Icarus, or etc with no penalty.
Even without arrowhead, with a CB mod it gets 85 recoil direction which is still vertical. I have a perp motion/desperado roll and I literally put 600 kills on it in 2 days. It's an absolute monster and like you said it's effortless to get precision shots. Insanely underrated. I agree with you 100%.
I have arguably the god roll darkest before (Arrowhead, ricochet, slideshot, elemental capacitor) with a range masterwork, it took forever to farm but it was well worth it. I play controller and when on a void subclass it feels incredibly stable. I understand the ranking though, it's incredibly time consuming to get the roll that makes it amazing and when piece of mind exists there's not really much point in farming one unless you specifically want a rapid fire in the energy slot.
The problem with Graviton is that, in PVP on mouse and keyboard, it is a weapon that has lightweight damage, adaptive rate of fire, a negative aim assist on the shot that actually counts (and honestly every pulse seems like the opposite of Outbreak, the bloom is just abysmal an feels like a reverse-dynamic sway)
A god roll Legal Action II is an absolute menace. It has fantastic range, shoots like a laser beam, practically gifts free headshots, and has strong kill chaining potential. Plus, it takes up the kinetic slot, which grants you access to more secondaries.
Collective obligation with stag on a rift oriented void warlock... was particularly nasty. Child of the old god grants weakening and that weakening is picked up by it giving it a sort of kill clip that isn't reliant on reload. outside of that and PvE... it's not worth it. Syncopation (with enhanced moving target and enhanced headstone) was my first crafted weapon that I used to go flawless in trials when witch queen dropped. Bad Juju... is *chef's kiss* and nasty on well warlock with a stag rift. In a well... it's time to go all in and get your well back even faster.

Note for people seeing this now: Collective Obligation got a buff/rework that's coming with Season 18, and it'll likely be a dominant PvE-support exotic for Void 3.0 builds because the changes are wild.
Been here almost in tears learning that Juju got a buff. I haven't been playing in a minute and I remember saying a long time ago "the second bad juju gets a buff it will become a powerhouse weapon. It's already the work horse of Legends, but if it gets any stronger Bungie's gonna have to kill it for being too good." I hope to God that it didn't get nerfed because it makes me so happy to know that it's finally getting recognition it deserves

I love my insidious. It’s the first gun I’ve been able to use to go flawless. Can’t recommend it enough. If you are trying it out though rapid hit is basically a requirement
For Premonition, you noted that it can be farmed via Lectern. It can also be farmed via Chamber of Suffering, a pretty quick dungeon encounter (even solo). Food for thought.
Just a note, Premonition can't be farmed from the Lectern of Enchantment. It's a strange outlier of the moon weapons, and exclusively drops from the Pit of Heresy dungeon.
Not to mention, if you're a veteran of Halo 2 or later titles, then using the BXR-55 Battler comes as second nature, you just KNOW how to use it. The veterans of Halo 2, 3, 4, 5, and Infinite all have a second sense for their favorite burst or 'pulse' rifle. So if you come across a guardian who's God tier with that weapon, they've probably played 'swat' with it somewhere else before and have mastered the art of leading their shots to always hit their targets
Blueberries! And yes, Bad Juju is GOD TIER! As soon as the patch rolled around I made a build for void walker and oh my Lord it was glorious. Got multiple We Ran's, dropped constant 40+ kill games, and dropped TONS of vortex nova bombs. A MUST use for any build.
I was thinking the video is agreeable then you put my Outbreak in good tier. At that moment, I know this video is on point. Then come Bad Juju, just perfect. As a Pulse Rifle main, this video will be what I send everyone to when they ask which pulse they should use.
as a newer player whos literally never playe an fps before an has no iea how guns in video games work. pulse rifles have become one of my favorite gun types and im glad to see that some of my favorite weapons made it decently high in this list. i used to main Bad Juju in gambit. maybe it's time to try it again
I agree with most of the list, but I don't agree about the Chattering Bone being bad (well, more specifically the curated one), because its perks are more designed around one picking up the slack of the other than working side by side. With your initial magazine HIR helps getting a kill, which procs Kill Clip and helps in getting kills faster. If you don't get it, HIR is there so your damage doesn't fall off that much, helping you proc KC and so on. This coupled with the bonus to mobility makes it at least a decent weapon to use. And I kinda forgot about Bad Juju, just remembered it as the weapon that made you get super faster and now I'm going to take it out for a spin. And as always, thanks for the video.
Legal Action is nice on the 2 or 3 larger maps when rolled with perks like fluted/arrowhead brake, steady rounds, surplus since it doesn’t need range at all.

I was waiting for someone to make this, and hoping you would be to first to release since you're very clear and comprehensive. I've always like pulses, but ever since you made the syncopation video you made me deep dive into my vault, enclave, and whatever else is out there to still obtain to try things out myself.
im in complete agreement on juju. its been my favorite pulse/exotic since d1, everything about it felt amazing to use. pve and pvp. in d2, its been lacking in both fields. however with witch queen buffing exotic primaries in pve, and haunted granting the forgiveness in pvp, its my favorite gun again.
As a pve main, Ogma is my go-to energy weapon for almost every endgame mission where champion mods permit it. I have like six different rolls of it but I mainly run a Wellspring/Demo or an Unrelenting/Firefly, both work great. Ogma is one of my favorite weapons hands down.

I like how you opened by saying that an objectively bad gun can be great to some people because you put my favorite gun Jurassic Green in the bad tier. I've always loved the shooting feel of the gun and I have a 5/5 roll for me being the roll you showed but with a handling masterwork so it's a bit more snappy. I've always been impressed with how consistently I can comfortably reach people at the other end of map lanes and the recoil isn't too bad if you get its rhythm, and I'm on xbox so I get to worry about that recoil.

Ok, seeing you on solar trying to use collective obligation hurt my soul. The way it works is: you apply void effect to target, you suck up that void effect by shooting with le gun, and then u activate the perk when the big circle is lit, letting you know your effect is fully charged.

I started maining Stars in Shadow because of your ranking of it, and gods above and below, is it devastating. The roll I have on it is Firmly Planted, Headseeker Fluted Barrel and Alloy Mags with a Stability Masterwork. This thing shreds, and while I could use my other favorite 340 rpm pulse, the NTTE, I just have way, WAY too much fun with Stars in Shadow that it gets me excited to play Crucible with it

As a controller player I think Darkest Before is slightly underrated thanks to how good it feels running with Arrowhead + Ricochet + Tunnel Vision/Surplus + Elemental Capacitor. You can make out recoil direction with stasis or have absurd levels of stability with void and those clean sights made it feel impossible to miss as long as I was putting in the required effort.
I've been using Bad Juju for a while this season. Every time I adjust my loadout, I miss it. I feel like I can handle problems at any range with it and it just fuels my desire to drop nova bombs on points. I love it.
Quality vid! I never got used to the sights on messenger, but New Purpose with On Your Mark or Ophidians is close enough that it's my main pulse right now. It definitely needs help to perform well though

Man this video delivered as good as the first one did. Some of these were surprising but made sense, and your reasoning often aligned with my first impressions of the gun. The blurred gameplay when you make it to the elite / ruler categories are awesome as it adds suspense. I also enjoyed that, like last time, you left us with a surprise category. Anyway, personally No Time To Explain, Darkest Before, The Messenger, New Purpose, Outbreak Perfected & Piece of Mind are probably my favorites of Pulse Rifles. (In that order.) Pulses may very well be my favorite kind of gun in the game, honestly.
I do have a Gridskipper & I just got a decently rolled BxR so I might take a better look at those.
Kind of wish Chattering Bone felt better, but honestly all of the Last Wish loot bar 1k and _maybe_ Transfiguration, did not age well at well, which is kind of a shame.

I can't lie, when you were saying, "It's time to sit up. It's time for the best pulse rifles in the game, bar none. It's time for the Elite 7. " I had goosebumps
The moment I realized that No Time to Explain was not the numero uno, I actually started smiling and grinning after realizing it was my absolute favorite pulse in the game since I got it from the mission in the Trophy Hall. Bad Juju, and Dragonfruit. I love these videos as they fit very well into my usual thoughts about many of the weapons that I get, keep up the great work.

I used bad juju for the first time in over 2 years immediately after the patch and in my very first game i was chaining kills left and right which is something i cannot consistently do. I knew from that 1 game that this gun is an absolute monster and its just so fun to use too
I love my Legal Action II, I have an Arrowhead, Steady rounds, Heating up, Frenzy roll that I’ve used for a very long time now, and the feel of the gun just draws me to the pulse like no other gun in the game does. At the absurd range it packs, the really high stability my roll has combined with the handling and reload frenzy provides during and after duels, it makes for an amazing experience.
Bad Juju was slept on in D1, and im glad is back and getting some recognition in D2. Lovely bit of kit for any situation.

They are my favorite weapon type in the game and your video has given me a good idea on which ones I want to try and grind for.

New Purpose with perpetual motion feels pretty good even with the low handling and reload speed, and the bitterspite origin trait is basically free reload speed. Also, it has a recoil direction of 70, which means arrowhead brake will bump up the recoil to 100, unlike messenger's 90. This makes the New Purpose so good at hitting headshots, it's criminal. I understand that messenger is better because of it's stats and the fact that it can be adept, but putting new purpose in the okay tier feels like a low blow to me.
True. I was expecting it to be in the "good" tier at least but not in the "OK".
Nevermind the fact that with Arrowhead Brake, your mod slot is completely open to shore up the weapon with some other benefit, like Sprint Grip, Icarus, or etc with no penalty.
Came here to something similar. This gun is criminally underrated.
Even without arrowhead, with a CB mod it gets 85 recoil direction which is still vertical. I have a perp motion/desperado roll and I literally put 600 kills on it in 2 days. It's an absolute monster and like you said it's effortless to get precision shots. Insanely underrated. I agree with you 100%.

I have arguably the god roll darkest before (Arrowhead, ricochet, slideshot, elemental capacitor) with a range masterwork, it took forever to farm but it was well worth it. I play controller and when on a void subclass it feels incredibly stable. I understand the ranking though, it's incredibly time consuming to get the roll that makes it amazing and when piece of mind exists there's not really much point in farming one unless you specifically want a rapid fire in the energy slot.
I actually think the Darkest before is better on close range maps, but for long to medium range maps I would reconmend Piece of Mind.

The problem with Graviton is that, in PVP on mouse and keyboard, it is a weapon that has lightweight damage, adaptive rate of fire, a negative aim assist on the shot that actually counts (and honestly every pulse seems like the opposite of Outbreak, the bloom is just abysmal an feels like a reverse-dynamic sway)

A god roll Legal Action II is an absolute menace. It has fantastic range, shoots like a laser beam, practically gifts free headshots, and has strong kill chaining potential. Plus, it takes up the kinetic slot, which grants you access to more secondaries.
Legal Action II with moving target and adrenaline junkie has been my go to in pvp for like a year now. Love the range and that it can take on snipers.

Collective obligation with stag on a rift oriented void warlock... was particularly nasty. Child of the old god grants weakening and that weakening is picked up by it giving it a sort of kill clip that isn't reliant on reload. outside of that and PvE... it's not worth it. Syncopation (with enhanced moving target and enhanced headstone) was my first crafted weapon that I used to go flawless in trials when witch queen dropped. Bad Juju... is *chef's kiss* and nasty on well warlock with a stag rift. In a well... it's time to go all in and get your well back even faster.

Note for people seeing this now: Collective Obligation got a buff/rework that's coming with Season 18, and it'll likely be a dominant PvE-support exotic for Void 3.0 builds because the changes are wild.

Been here almost in tears learning that Juju got a buff. I haven't been playing in a minute and I remember saying a long time ago "the second bad juju gets a buff it will become a powerhouse weapon. It's already the work horse of Legends, but if it gets any stronger Bungie's gonna have to kill it for being too good." I hope to God that it didn't get nerfed because it makes me so happy to know that it's finally getting recognition it deserves

I love my insidious. It’s the first gun I’ve been able to use to go flawless. Can’t recommend it enough. If you are trying it out though rapid hit is basically a requirement
For Premonition, you noted that it can be farmed via Lectern. It can also be farmed via Chamber of Suffering, a pretty quick dungeon encounter (even solo). Food for thought.
It can actually ONLY be farmed through the dungeon, for some reason its the only dungeon exclusive weapon in its set
Just a note, Premonition can't be farmed from the Lectern of Enchantment. It's a strange outlier of the moon weapons, and exclusively drops from the Pit of Heresy dungeon.

Not to mention, if you're a veteran of Halo 2 or later titles, then using the BXR-55 Battler comes as second nature, you just KNOW how to use it.
The veterans of Halo 2, 3, 4, 5, and Infinite all have a second sense for their favorite burst or 'pulse' rifle. So if you come across a guardian who's God tier with that weapon, they've probably played 'swat' with it somewhere else before and have mastered the art of leading their shots to always hit their targets
Syncopation-53, Cold Denial, insidious, and BxR Battle Rifle are my absolute favorites. And then there was Redrix’s Broadsword…the unspoken.
Blueberries! And yes, Bad Juju is GOD TIER! As soon as the patch rolled around I made a build for void walker and oh my Lord it was glorious. Got multiple We Ran's, dropped constant 40+ kill games, and dropped TONS of vortex nova bombs. A MUST use for any build.
I was thinking the video is agreeable then you put my Outbreak in good tier. At that moment, I know this video is on point. Then come Bad Juju, just perfect. As a Pulse Rifle main, this video will be what I send everyone to when they ask which pulse they should use.
as a newer player whos literally never playe an fps before an has no iea how guns in video games work. pulse rifles have become one of my favorite gun types and im glad to see that some of my favorite weapons made it decently high in this list. i used to main Bad Juju in gambit. maybe it's time to try it again
I agree with most of the list, but I don't agree about the Chattering Bone being bad (well, more specifically the curated one), because its perks are more designed around one picking up the slack of the other than working side by side. With your initial magazine HIR helps getting a kill, which procs Kill Clip and helps in getting kills faster. If you don't get it, HIR is there so your damage doesn't fall off that much, helping you proc KC and so on. This coupled with the bonus to mobility makes it at least a decent weapon to use.
And I kinda forgot about Bad Juju, just remembered it as the weapon that made you get super faster and now I'm going to take it out for a spin.
