@@heatherannekennedy9368 - their space, right now, is tiny. The table they currently use is moveable. Until they build new or build onto their existing home it doesn’t make sense to build a table. It would have to be a small vs a big table for family and company. One day. Good thing that, if kept dry, clean and out of direct sun, this wood will still be around when that day comes.
What an incredible blessing! It will be fun to see what you and the boys will do with the lumber. You can never have too much bricks either. Endless possibilities. One of those boards alone could cost $50. Happy for you. Meg did well too. Congratulations!
Love seeing all the 'simple' but essential daily chores and projects.. but there is something truly special about gathering for dinner. Food is sacred, food is LIFE. Well done All you Hollars..❤
When you first showed the wood, I was (as a guitar player) thinking "Luthiery!" Any instrument makers in your area will be slavering over some of that stuff!
Wow! You guys really scored at the estate sale! The wood is amazing. I can’t even imagine the retail value of all of that lumber. That huge stock pot will be so useful when processing meat. I’m sure Meg will have many uses for those bricks.
What beautiful lumber, Ben!! Could a deck or addition to the mobile home be in it's future?!! Little Buggie is definitely a daddy's girl!!❤ Reminds me of me and my dad. I was the baby of 4, and I had daddy wrapped around my little finger! Meg, your dinner looked so delicious! Meatloaf and mashed taters are a favorite at my house too. Makes the yummiest leftovers😘.
“Bless me father for I have sinned” is how we start Confession - you got such a good deal on the wood and bricks that you practically “stole” it. Kudos. Best wishes from Kate in Olympia, WA - 5/9/2023.
Could I just make a suggestion? I've been acquiring wood of all kinds for several years and have found that leaving wood outside--even under something with a roof--and wrapping it with tarps sounds like protection in theory, but what actually happens is the tarp holds in moisture, whether from rain or humidity or both, and causes a hugely regrettable mold/mildew situation on and in the wood. Your best solution would be to get it inside somehow: in a barn, in a pole building, etc, and leave it exposed to the air. Tarps trap moisture and ruin the wood. By the way, we love your channel. :)
Every time I see you and your precious family hold hands and honor God for His bounty, I pray God’s continued blessing and favor over each of you. To see your little precious bow her head is adorable.
Oh the possibilities of all that gorgeous wood! Those exotics are just calling out "Hey Ben, make something beautiful out of us! You know you wanna carve us, polish us, make our grain shine! Forget about your chores, come hang out with us!" 😏
It's Millie's job to be up to no good. Given time and enough practice, she will excel at it. Oh, you are going to DREAM about that wood! All the projects!
My grandpa grew fig trees in NY, he used to wrap them in burlap over the winter to protect them for years. When he couldn’t anymore they still lived and produced an abundance of figs. You may want to try it.
My grandfather made each one of his children a bed. About 85 years ago he had made my dads bed with burlwood. He polished it with glass, no finish, just glass burnished. It’s absolutely beautiful. My older sister has it right now. It’s a wonderful heirloom to remember our family by. I am eager to see what becomes of all the beautiful pieces that you can construct from your new stash.
I vote for a lovely farmhouse table for that hardworking momma, and she will continue to bless you with those yummy meals!😋 Probably enough wood for benches too for the kiddos!👨👨👦👦👧
That's furniture making wood! Love that you got all that for such a good price Ben. Meg did great getting all those bricks too. I'm so glad you found a good place to keep the wood. It's great that the boys are helping. So great you could use some of those exotic woods for knife handles. Meatloaf, potatoes, and casserole for dinner. Whoa, gravy too! Meg, I sure hope you have leftovers for tomorrow's lunch. T wood posts with cattle panels for a trellis, such a clever idea. That should look great with all the cucuzzi squash hanging down. I like how you got the cattle panels tighter and less sagged. Nice to see your fig come up. Thanks for this video Hollar family!
There’s a lot of good trouble you can get into with your new wood pile. Looks like some fine furniture wood. Heck even if you just resold most of it and bought tools you got a great advantage. Looking forward to Meg’s brick pathways!
I too am in agreement, the person who passed away, would be very happy that you got that wood and I know you will put it to good work. That wood is worth 1000's of dollars. Be blessed.
Ben, awesome score on the wood, bricks and huge pot. Love estate sales and auctions. Meg, dinner of course looks delicious which im making meatloaf tomorrow and love meatloaf sandwiches the next day. Ben, from what I've heard you may get some nasty weather tomorrow or Thursday be safe. Meg, can't wait to see what you do with the bricks . Blessings to you all. 😊🇺🇲
BEN, BEN, BEN!!! You should have seen the look on my woodworker husband’s face when you revealed the price you paid for the hardwood. You hit the jackpot!! Just please don’t let the covering be air tight. What a blessing for your family! By the way, sheep eat poison ivy!
I don't know much about home renovation or wood lol but my sister lived in a mobile home years ago and they put beautiful cherry wood floors in their living room and dining area. If you ever plan on expanding your mobile home like you said you might I'm sure that cherry wood would get some good use and it was a great price😊
Wow! That’s a great find, as someone who has just built a chicken coop......lumber is crazy expensive and that’s a GREAT find. Well, I’m going out to work outside again, y’all have a blessed day!
Ben you bought a treasure! $50! Wow! Hardwoods are very expensive. We put red oak trim in our house and it's not unheard of to pay $50 for one board! You lucked out. Purple heart and zebra wood! OM Goodness! What will Meg do with chimney bricks? An outdoor grill/ fireplace? The possibilities are endless.
Loved hearing that little voice echo, "mom where are you?" The evening glow with little insects flitting in the cool of the evening❤ It going from 60s to 90 on Friday. TOO FAST!
What a great blessing all that wood and bricks are. I see so many things happening soon like, deck, making your own guitar, tree forts, benches, potting shelves, crafts. The list is endless with your creative ideas ❤🎉
WoW Ya'll hit the jackpot on the bricks and all that lumber for sure! Meg's cooking always looks so yummy!! 😋😋Things are looking good out there! Good work!! ❣❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❣
Estate sales are the best place to shop. You and Meg got some great deals. Those exotic woods are very expensive a friend of mine uses zebra wood & the purple heart. Of course the rest is a great deal too. Cherry, oak & cedar foe all kinds of projects to come. Can't wait to see what it becomes. Great meal, Meg. I miss meatloaf , greenbelt casserole and brownies bcuz of no oven.
Oh my...oh my...all that beautiful wood. My mind was exploding with ideas. As crafty as you are Ben you could make decorative bread board's with the Hollar homestead logo on them. At your classes these could be for sale. Sign's with wording farmhouse word's. You're sitting on a fortune.
So glad that lean-to is all fixed up, it really stuck out in videos. I’m so jealous of the bricks and wood lol. And I just love love love meatloaf for dinner!! I’m having to replant most of my garden grrr. More cameras needed!!
Yesterday, Monday, wasn't one of your regular posting days, but a Hollar Homestead video popped up in my RUclips suggested videos. It was Brett's 9th birthday celebration where he grilled steaks and played with his birthday Legos. What a fun blast from the past that was. He(and the other boys) certainly has grown since then! That lumber pile was a great buy, plus now the old lean-to has a new life. Win-win
Our hardy Chicago fig tree took a number of years to establish strong enough roots to make figs and last year it produced many figs before the first good frost stopped it. Hope yours fruits this year!
The lumber is just great! Those big slabs are too. People make the most beautiful tables with those. Sometimes incorporating epoxy resin or acrylic in them. What a great haul!
i'm envious of your wood pile and the wife is envious of ben's hair. she wants him to get a crew cut and send her the hair to make a wig out of it. lol
What a great deal on the wood and bricks. Lots of material for future projects. Liked seeing Ben's hair down. You both have beautiful hair but I understand its more convenient to have it up. Have a good week.
The gentleman who passed would be so happy to know that someone got his stockpile who apprrciates as much as he did!
Totally agree
for SURE..
❤
Absolutely
Absolutely Agree ❤❤
Hubby and I were drooling over the wood. He’s a wood worker. Beautiful stuff!❤
What steal on all that beautiful lumber ! Build a beautiful kitchen table with benches for yall to enjoy during your meals ! ❤
I was going to suggest that too.
That was indeed my first thought... a gorgeous dining room table! Something worthy of the fantastic meals prepared by Meg!
That was my thought too!😀
Might be time to barter a trade with Jason from SowThe Land and make a nice table!
That wood would make a nice dining room table for the family. You got a great deal!
I was thinking the same thing!! A gorgeous table to enjoy Meg's magnificent meals around! I can see it now!
I agree, but the advantage of what they are using now is it can be easily moved or shifted.
He said a lot of cherry wood and my first thought was that I will be so jealous of Meg's cherry table once it's built

Well done with the wood! I hope you and the boys use the really stunning stuff into gorgeous spice boxes, and sell them for Christmas presents.
Ok Meg now you can get your farmhouse kitchen table I know Ben would make it beautiful ❤
I was thinking the same.❤

Love seeing all the 'simple' but essential daily chores and projects.. but there is something truly special about gathering for dinner. Food is sacred, food is LIFE.
Well done All you Hollars..❤
What a score on the wood you are one lucky man.
When you first showed the wood, I was (as a guitar player) thinking "Luthiery!" Any instrument makers in your area will be slavering over some of that stuff!
Actually, I would really like to see Ben and the boys start making guitars and other beautiful instruments with that haul!
I've been waiting to see which of the Homestead-tube Kids would end up musical first. I was expecting one of the Rhodes, but maybe not.
Wow! You guys really scored at the estate sale! The wood is amazing. I can’t even imagine the retail value of all of that lumber. That huge stock pot will be so useful when processing meat. I’m sure Meg will have many uses for those bricks.
that HUGE pot tho second hand LOOKS better than the brand new now a days made in slave labor country

I was the baby of 4, and I had daddy wrapped around my little finger! Meg, your dinner looked so delicious! Meatloaf and mashed taters are a favorite at my house too. Makes the yummiest leftovers😘.
Time to take that beautiful hardwood and build Meg an equally beautiful dining table!
“Bless me father for I have sinned” is how we start Confession - you got such a good deal on the wood and bricks that you practically “stole” it. Kudos. Best wishes from Kate in Olympia, WA - 5/9/2023.
Omg that wood is gorgeous, congrats. So many possibilities. If the boys make anything feel free to share.

Sell one of those pieces and you can recoup what you paid for the lumber and blocks in one shot. Deal of the decade! 👍👍
Every time I see you and your precious family hold hands and honor God for His bounty, I pray God’s continued blessing and favor over each of you. To see your little precious bow her head is adorable.
With that fine wood you could build those early American style rocking chairs like Mel Gibson did in The Patriot. 😅
Oh the possibilities of all that gorgeous wood! Those exotics are just calling out "Hey Ben, make something beautiful out of us! You know you wanna carve us, polish us, make our grain shine! Forget about your chores, come hang out with us!" 😏
That was not a mistake. It's just hard work. Wood is so expensive right now. That is beautiful stuff.
Buggie is so adorable and precious with her head bowed during the giving of thanks for the meal. Be blessed of the Lord.
Good job guys keeping that wood dry..She loves her daddy, thank you for being such a good daddy many are not in this world...
Great score on all that wood! Buggy is sure growing up... but she still likes her "dad pick-ups". Have a great week guys.
Nice estate sale haul, Ben! Great prices on the lumber and bricks! I'll bet the boys are happy, too!
Nice pot Meg! Perfect for your needs cooking and canning for your large family! 👍⭐️ Beautiful cherrywood!
Ben and Meg, your small army of men are so much fun to see learning and growing on the homestead. I love how they all pitch in and help.
It's Millie's job to be up to no good. Given time and enough practice, she will excel at it.
Oh, you are going to DREAM about that wood! All the projects!
Lumber is always a SCORE on the Homestead. 👍

That's a great score for both of you. The cedar would make excellent raised garden beds.
Ben, the lessons you and Meg are teaching your boys and girl are priceless.

Looks like enough cedar for a blanket/ hope chest for Meg or Buggy. Beautiful bunch of wood. Meg's kitchen garden is going to look lovely.
What a smart thing to do!
It would be interesting to know the story behind how he acquired the exotic wood.. Nice score!
Indeed, you're the wood winner!
The best part ... anyone could have secured this loot, but it went to a person who would compliment its being.
It's so awesome to see family meals and those bowed heads are just beautiful GOD be with you all❤

You hit a gold mine with that lumber! 👍
Oh good. Now you can build Meg a beautiful huge family dinner table.
I bet the boys could take some pieces of different woods and make an amazing, fancy cutting board for Meg’s Mothers Day!
Wow, what a fantastic price! You can make furniture out of those wood planks and I know you always need bricks!
You were the best person to purchase that lumber. I know you're going to use it well. That gentleman is smiling down at you.
WOW great score....a tab bit jealous...congrats
Can you store the wood in the red house? Glad to see you lifted and fixed that overhang. Good storage spot
Just what I was thinking with dehumidifier
You got the mother load of deals on that wood and also the brick!
The lumber is just great! Those big slabs are too. People make the most beautiful tables with those. Sometimes incorporating epoxy resin or acrylic in them. What a great haul!
I think it’s time to build a deck! Lol would any of it work for cutting boards?
Some benches or picnic tables. Patio furniture. Outdoor tables.
You should make a kitchen table top with that! Great memories making it and then using it for years to come.
i'm envious of your wood pile and the wife is envious of ben's hair. she wants him to get a crew cut and send her the hair to make a wig out of it. lol
