  • The car scene in Thailand is crazy, even more so here in Bangkok. Are people really buying a $1 million dollar car just to get the best parking in Thailand? Today I take you on a tour of several high end shopping malls in Bangkok to show you what supercar parking is all about. You won't believe some of the cars I spot in the reserved supercar parking areas of these malls! Everything from a standard Porsche 718 Cayman all the way up to a Lamborghini Huracan STO and even a Ferrari SF90 Stradale! Keep in mind that any cars not made in Thailand, have a 200-300% import tax. In order to be able to afford one of these cars, you obviuosly have to be very wealthy. Join me for this tour of an automotive scene in Thailand that no one else has shared, or explained, before on RUclips.

    Those cost more than my 4 bedroom house in Bangkok! Better way to get preferential parking in malls. Most mall groups have a credit card you can sign up for, and that gets you access to special parking, too. I did that, a lot less money than those!

    Bangkok is the last place a supercar has value. If you want the easiest access to malls, use a taxi. And if you want to drive and have fun, that's not going to happen in Bangkok. Use a taxi (or if you're a daredevil, a motorbike taxi). Supercars there are just for people with nothing more exciting or flashy to spend their money on.

    • @LifewithSerg

    Hello Serg,
    I suspect that the cars are parked like that to save people unable to afford repair bills from accidents. Imagine a mid level office worker crashing into a Ferrari in Bangkok or anywhere.
    Also, Bangkok is cramped. These malls probably offers car parking as a perk and secure from accidental damage. I doubt anyone buys a supercar just cos of free mall parking.

    • @LifewithSerg
      @LifewithSerg  11 месяцев назад

      Of course nobody buys the cars just to go park them in the mall. 😂

    the traffic is bangkok is so dreadful, and you have motorcycle swirling everywhere.
    if i have a supercar, no way i would drive them on the regular basis in bangkok.
    traffic is way too bad and you have high risk of getting a ding.
    i guess if you're worth billions then you don't care lol.

    • @LifewithSerg
      @LifewithSerg  Год назад +1

      Yes, I simply don’t understand why anyone would buy a Lamborghini or a Ferrari here in Bangkok, or actually Thailand in general. I think it’s more to use it as a status symbol. There’s no way you could drive any of those cars anywhere near their potential out on public roads.

    Hello, the real reason is not due to car park in Shopping mall! Real reason is most are rich and like all rich people globally will get preferential treatment. Some of those wealth legit some well.
    I live in East Asia and drive a small sport car. Anytime i pull out anywhere, the car goes straight in front be it restaurant or whatnot. Our shopping malls dont have dedicated supercar spot but only cos people in this part of Asia will be protesting and wanting to harm themselves.
    You have to agree the cars parked together like that lend some sheen to the car park. That is also part of the reasoning. I know some of these thais with some of these cars. Shopping mall car park is last thing on their minds!

      You are taking the title of this video way too literal. There’s something called “creative license” not everything is black and white. I’m well aware that people did not buy an expensive car like this just to get a good spot at the shopping mall. It’s just a perk that is offered to people with expensive cars.

    Thailand isn’t built for super car it’s just a waste I would rather have a tank especially when you see how most people drive out there 😂, you should show some of the vans out there they are insane I saw one with just two seats in the back but had a mini bar and a 40 inch tv in the back with a PlayStation hooked up now that’s what you need when you get stuck in traffic 😂.

    • @LifewithSerg

      You are so very much correct about super cars being completely useless here. I have actually ridden in a couple of these vans. If you are a wealthy person here, I think this is truly the way to go. Two big chairs with massage functions, a 40 inch Internet, connect to TV, and no worries or stress while your driver navigate to stop and go traffic

    The supercar parking in these malls is not free... Each parking spot is contracted out and the fees run as high as 200,000 baht per year in the higher end malls... Even the smaller malls charge around 80,000 baht per year for a supercar parking spot...
