“You don’t like this Anthony?”
“NOOOOO!”
Its never not funny lol especially with Jimmy laughing every time
God do I love when Jimmy asks Ant a rhetorical question. His laugh after always cracks me up.
10:46 I love every time Ant & Jim have an exchange like that.
This is the kind of stuff that made this show genius. Love when Opie did stuff to make Anthony go off. It was great for the show and so entertaining. Ant's rant on Lou Reed is another good one.
They had some terrible music takes over the years, but some were dead on. Lou Reed was atrocious, and so is jam music.
Holy shit somebody on an o and a page giving opie credit
"they sold out madison square garden..." so does the circus and new york knicks, doesn't mean they're worth seeing..
That's fucked up 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😎👌
MAAAAAAAAADISON Square Garden! Grrrrrreatest city in all of world.
Nobody sold out Madison Square Garden in the 1970s and 1980s more than the WWF
Yeah, and you know it was probably the same 18,000 people every night. The Grateful Dead is awful
Are u from the east coast? The NYK havent sold out MSG in decades
Here's Dave in Connecticut.
Anthony: Of course....
They should have gotten Lady Di on the phone for this discussion. She gets deep with the Dead. She likes the obscure songs like "Touch of Grey".
One of two good songs
Went to 3 Dead shows for free. Walked out of every one of them within minutes.
Prove it
@@malikjohnston3883 cant, didn't even bother to save the tickets, and I have hundreds. But Park West, Utah, 1984, Red Rocks Colorado in 85 and Oxford Plains speedway, 89

I love when I'm listening to old O&A clips and I find the picture they're talking about by just googling the most obvious phrase.
“Opie and Anthony (insert pornstar or bit)” is a common google search in my home
How to tell a band sucks: when the only defense from fans is "You have to listen to it live, maaaaaaaaaaan!"
You know music is good when some burnt out drunk says he doesn't get it but likes 10 songs on 80's greatest hits compilations.
Sounds like the band is pretty good if seeing it live is what makes you like them, considering how vastly easier it is to make a massively overproduced song in a studio....that doesn't even use your voice....and you don't need to hit the notes...
How to tell your band sucks: everyone who's enjoying it are all tripping balls on acid
yall probably look up to joe rogan
@@BungleJoogie68 WHAT?? Listening to a bunch of elder stoners " jam " for 30 minutes on one song aimlessly isn't for everyone!!????
Who would have thought.......🤔
Huge deadhead and this bit killed me, fucking hilarious.
Yes, because you know it’s the truth. They suck
I love how opie absolutely cannot conceal that he is a closet deadhead. The two most hated beloved popular artists of the modern era, opie and the dead
The Grateful Dead are like licorice... not everyone likes licorice, but the people that do like licorice, REALLY like licorice.
Just like necrophilia.
Just like eating human beings alive
The Grateful Dead were an amazing band but the hippies that worship them are tiresome.
+tolpacourt Tiresome, Smelly and should be melted down into a glue like substance.
Direct Garcia quote.
I like both bands but this was fucking funny. Phish and Dead heads take themselves too seriously...
10:30 Easily my favorite Chip bit I've heard so far, just above what made it big on Worldstar.
" if your at this concert and you think this is good music you're an asshole "~~~ Anthony on the grateful dead
I am a huge Dead and Phish fan but this is fucking hilarious
As a stoner I just want to say the Dead suck out loud.
My bills are due "Of course"

"Lady Gaga has some catchy tunes" -Opie
Herpes is kinda catchy too.
I mean I’ve definitely bopped my head to a Gaga song or two but I’m also a stoner idiot so who knows
@@bluraynation5188 constructive addition to the thread
That first album was pretty good.
@@DankBirdGang52 Yeah, it was a guilty pleasure. I think it was the last pop album I didn't hate. Really lost what little patience I had for top 40 over the last decade.
Steve Young was the starter when they won in 1994.

I went to Humboldt State University in 1994. One of the hippiest colleges next to Berkeley. My roommate would try to trade me Grateful Dead concert tapes for weed. 😆

Alma matter of comedy great Brian Regan!
It’s really sad Ope couldn’t reconcile insecurities
As opposed to the two closet cases he worked with?

Grateful Dead and Phish fans !
Insufferable retards
Ant's sigh at 11:50 was hilarious
HAHAHAA Ant... " Hey I'll make you some spaghetti.." haha he nailed it. That's exactly what you would hear in the parking lot at a grateful dead show.
+mshesh16 who hasn't been to their fair share
@mshesh16 they put magic mushrooms in lasagna idk about spaghetti though
Opie is tolerable when he's talking about music for some reason
Todd Corbin because he’s always been a disk jockey to his core NOT a professional comedy talk show host
He's a DJ more than anything else
I think because then Anthony disagrees with him making good radio.
I agree. He didn't make me mad in this segment. Home run, Opie Chipperson
Ant is somehow more annoying when talking about music, hes such a snob yet he has terrible taste himself.
Haha I'd love to hear their take on Ween.
WEEN is the best band to come out of the 90’s rock scene.
In my top 5 and one of the better live bands.
TSS WEEN??? Wut are they a buncha pekkahs or sumthin??

Greatful dead really did suck.
Love when they talk about the Renaissance Faire. The most famous thing about my shitty town.
Hellooo Tuxedo!
10:00 Anthony's reaction to that song.
My bills are all due and the baby needs shoes
"Of course"
Love the Dead and Phish almost as much as I love ant’s take on them
Saw Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers on June 21 2006 at the Garden, Trey Annastasio the lead singer from Phish opened the show and got boo'd for an hour.. it was the worst sound I ever heard come outta a microphone
Hahaha he’s a horrible singer, great guitarist though.
This never gets old...
Pink Floyd kicks the shit out of the Dead, in musical ideas and themes.
+Brandon M I think both bands are in a realm of there own. the dead were extremely diverse, easily more than pink floyd. the dead have played just about every genre of music you can think of
+magicman28131 Noodling hippy guitar solos of every flavor...
Agreed
They’re both badass in their own unique way, if you see the music live and go with a few friends or family or a partner or maybe share in the spirit and smoke a joint and have a beer or two, maybe a psychedelic or maybe not, I know many sober people that love them (both bands), they have a sonic aesthetic, themes, styles, points of influence and each musicians individual thumb print and stories of origin that make each band what they are. And their own impact they had on their fans, both fan groups are very fervent and obsessive though I would argue that Deadheads are far and away more obsessive in their their passion for the band than fans of Pink Floyd, Id argue the average Floyd fan mostly just knows the popular songs or albums or may be less familiar with the actually history of the band but maybe that’s not true I’m sure most actually do know their fair share of the necessities, but then again I’m aware that’s not the only variable that creates a ‘fan’ or even an obsessive fan for that matter. Though of course neither fandom is ever exclusive to the other. These guys just intentionally have combatting and often close minded shrouded as comedic-premise-seeking approaches to truly destiny to comprehend the contexts and the reasons that can make certain bands be considered great by a great many people. /EndRant
Where's all their live shit then? exactly keep playing dsotm 637427425495459x more times
Has anyone else noticed that Ant hates essentially all musical acts?
He likes tweaker rock.
tolpacourt I've often wondered what he actually listens to. Don't know wtf tweaker rock is but judging by what he dislikes i imagine its shit.
Man O'Neal Ant's a musician, and speaking as a musician myself, most musicians hate most music. At least, you're more likely to hear them bash music they hate than gush over music they love.
Jade Prout Truedat. Ant never talks about music he likes. I used to _live_ for music but lately I just don't listen to music at all.
Jade Prout I'm a musician and have at least a small amount of understanding about others music. Have you heard Anthony's description of Jazz? Its pure ignorance, or what he says about Lou Reed after admitting he only knows two of his songs?
The guy comes across as one of those assholes that listens to radio hits and then talks like he has a worthwhile opinion on genres he knows zero about.
The dead make music for burnt out old hippies, and young people who think they're cool because they smoke DMT and grow weed
So Joe Rogan
Miss this show
That makes so much sense that Opie would like trendy ass hippie jam band garbage,
The grateful dead are not trendy.
I never was a grateful dead fan, but truckin is a good song.
Holy shit The fucking Bunnymen!!!
The best music heard in this entire clip.
Around 2:50 or so they are talking about football and the winningest quarterback ever. I know Ant and Jim agree that Terry Bradshaw won four, and Joe Montana three, as well as three for Aikman. However, when Opie says "How many's Brady got?" And I heard, "Only two." Wow. Mind blown. I love O & A, and these little nuggets from the past really hit you sometimes.
@Matthew Barry jimmy messed that one up because they were going through 80s super bowl wins where montana had 3 (the last being 1990) and when he was going through super bowl winning qbs he mentioned montana as having 3.
It's interesting looking at steve young's career in that a player who ended up being one of the best ever was complete dogshit his first two years in the league and was willing to sit on the bench another 4 seasons after that
@@qwerty52676Montana won 4 superbowls 🤦♂️ Steve Young won in 94. Holy shit I thought New Yorkers knew sports this shit was hard to listen too
You can't enjoy The Greatful Dead if you're sober.
Yeah I only enjoy their music on acid
You are an idiotic fool
At least spell the name right
screw you dead heads
I’ve done it all & only found listening to that shit ruins a good buzz.
On mushrooms you think its the best shit youve ever heard😂..least thats how it was for me
Jimmy def is spot on with being at the show with the hairy pits girl
He aint def, wouldn't be working on the rrraddeeeoooo
Any idea when the subject of the video starts? I'm 17 minutes in.and they haven't mentioned Grateful Dead or Phish.
I love O&A and Phish. You know why? Opie and Anthony and Phish are basically the same thing. Both are shows that run for a few hours on the premise of theme and variation. This 25 minute jam they're laughing at is like 25 minutes of their show, and the irony is they play it in real time in the background, and still don't see the correlation. That "Spinal Tap Jazz Odyssey" they pick on at the end is the point where Jimmy has taken a conversation about bendy straws to Hitler milk enemas. How did he get there? A series of riffs and tangents. Come on, folks. Use your stadium sized imaginations.
This...
This...
ThePopMoss hope to see you at a show some day friend.
Not a fan of those bands but I get your point. I've always believed that comedy is similar to music in that respect.
Doesn't mean their music sounds good. I don't want to hear a 25 minute song. Theme (the same) and variation (change)... you could say that about anything. Working out is theme and variation. Making food is theme and variation. Your point is almost non-existent.
"I'm a company guy"
Yeah we know opie
St. Stephen is one of my favorite songs. Not even a big fan of the Dead. But that original studio recording is so good in my own worthless opinion. That being said, funny hearing them trash it. It really does start out sounding like you're at a Ren Faire.
Anthony's hatred for the Grateful Dead is fucking awesome
I got caught tuggin’ my peckah!!
All of this is so true, jam bands were just tedious and obnoxious when they went on for too long. Only druggies liked this crap.
Thank you, Ant. I have always disliked the Dead. One of my best friends is a huge fan and is always playing them when I go to his house.
I'm a big time stoner and I don't even care for Grateful Dead and Phish.
Garcia is still jamming in his tomb... 💀
I hate Phish but the Dead are American icons
i would rather listen to a plane crash
'Sample In A Jar' woulda been a much better recommendation (IMHO).
Steve Young was a backup in 89. Steve Young won after Dallas went back to back, the year the 9ers had Deion. Theat was like 92...
I would hate to go to a Tool concert because I hate their long pretentious songs and I just know they turn those needless 8 minute songs into like 25-30 minute songs at concerts
20 min St Stephen to you is me being forced to watch a quarter of football and tryyy to pay attention to all the bs and fouls, flags etc.
2:23 an atomic Chip bomb holy shit
😂😂
What's a Phish song?...Glug, glug, glug...
Fauk yeah, homerun Korves!
Phish...... do they swim underwater or sumtin.... tsssss
Lips Like Sugar by Echo & The Bunnymen is an awesome 80s rock song, I love it!
Opie loves "Busted" but doesn't recognize the intro...🤔
Hard to listen them screw up the super Bowls
FOOTBALL NUMBERS WRONG!!!!!
31:22 "Eyes on the side of my h- head" Hilarious!!!
A friend of mine's brother was Phish's manager, so we used to get free tickets every now and then. If it was a nice day and we were bored, we'd go. We didn't really care for the music, but it was something to do.
That Widespread Panic song sounds like 'Witchy Woman' by the Eagles.
The Dead blow
I want to see the commercial he's talking about at 27:05
39:17 My thoughts exactly
If you don’t like The Grateful Dead, you haven’t heard much of them. ✌🏻
As time goes by, more and more people hate the Grateful Dead. I can understand if you are from that era and got caught up in whole culture of it. But they're boring as hell.
"you don't like this ANT?" ahahhaahhaahahahaha
I would bet $1,000 Opie was not able to guess the correct team, and you can hear it in his voice when both Anthony and Jim both get it. I mean Anthony, who could care less about sports, knows it, and it just drives Opie crazy. Nonetheless, as much as I dislike what's become of Opie, these clips are gold, and I will listen to them forever. When Jim Norton was added was the best show on the radio and unfortunately something we will never see again or hear again :(
Anyone have a link to the underwear commercial? Asking for a friend
I love the dead and phish
U2 is the worst band in human history
I just like the grateful Dead Tshirts and I don't care if that makes me a poser lol

I don't know this "Arrowsmith", Opie, tell me about 'em.

I've introduced many people to the dead and many people became deadheads. Play: Help On The Way/Slip Knot/Franklin's Tower and laugh.
Anyone have a link to that Hanes commercial they comment on?

The niners fact about Steve young is just wrong lol
2 seconds In and opie is already me.
What music does anthony like?
Ethan Lorden Hitler's Army March
70s butt rock and 80s hair metal
Oh Dara
Hate Phish. The Grateful Dead weren’t for everyone, and I am a fan of the 1972 Tours. They were never better than that golden year and Jerry is one of the better guitar players.
The Grateful Dead never sings like they're at a renfair. They sing more about old western shit.
Grateful Dead got a few good songs but yeah I can get why someone would hate them
Did Anthony hum the Top Gear theme song around 24:45 -25
J G Allman Brothers - dickey betts
"watching gardening would be entertaining on acid, so this guy doesn't know wtf he's talking about..." xDDD
i treid greatful dead several times, waste of time boring af, mediocre at best... but anthony tells it like it is "they are a cult"
