The scene with Ben reminiscing his childhood and this version of the theme so perfectly represents what it is like to think back to the happy simple moments.
"...now's the winter of our discontent made glorious summer by this son of York.." I almost cried when Ben caressed the projection of his mom Hard to believe a TV show could give you such intense emotions
The show was good at taking characters you thought were one-dimensional and making them human. They made Albert from this typical jerk into a full human in only 2 minutes with his "I love you" speech.
Also the general (forget his damn name), his speech to his son about a vision, amazing stuff. I honestly haven't seen a tv show or movie that gets me as emotional as Twin Peaks
Why "almost cried". Just let it go. I always cry in many episodes. Thats why its my favourite show of all time. Im deeply in love with every piece of it, it changed my life.
For as distracting a subplot as Ben's Civil War reenactment is and for as terrible a person he is up to this point... there's a real side to him we've not seen before in the projector scene. Strangely heartbreaking, but then that just shows how developed Twin Peaks' characters are.
Honestly, after rewatching the series, Ben became one of my favorite characters. I'm still not sure if he's a bad man desperately wanting to be good, or a good man poisoned by the bad so much that he forgot who he once was.
Yes, I’m not sure why some people say TP doesn’t have much character development. Sure, 3 seasons may not be a lot relative to other shows but it matters what you *do* with those characters.
I still come back to this version a lot. This theme is eternal. And each version gives me different but equally powerful emotions. It’s like each one captures the full spectrum of life, all through the same notes.
Such an nostalgic and emotional scene delivered from Richard Beymer sure do miss twin peaks - Now is the winter of our discontent made glorious summer by this son of York and all the clouds that are lowed upon our houses in the deep bosom of the ocean buried now our brows bound with victorious reefs are bruised arms hang up for monuments are Stern in Adams changed for Mary meetings.
Honestly everytime I see this song pop up in my suggested and favorites it haunts me. It haunts me because of how nostalgic and depressing it sounds and I came across it when my boyfriend broke up with me. The ending part of this song, well the auto tune part (I guess?) is what breaks my heart everytime. How does one make something so deep like that?
Music is where ghosts live, for sure. All the happiness and sadness of memories drifting through the melody. I guess what I'm trying to say is I understand completely how this makes you feel.
Nothing can capture the spirit of Twin Peaks more than this. Sadness, beautiful, the tones, the colors, the music - it's like a mirror of my soul....or maybe it's me - being nostalgic - but I just don't know the difference.
Couple years ago I felt like Ben, forced to act good to serve a bigger picture. Well, it didn't work.. Few weeks ago I woke up with an all new strange but natural energy and day by day I feel that light expending.. I love my family, friends and coworkers !! Life is both beautiful and strange
This music and that particular image makes me come back and listen to this every week. Been a fan now for over 30 years - will always be a massive influence.
probably an early or skeleton version that grew into a timeless one, second by an incredible cast of talented beginners that really need to thank Mr Lynch for directing them so superbly.
I can’t remember the episode number but it’s definitely season one, just after she’s spied on Ben and Catherine having an affair, just before Leland does his dance for the Norwegians.
this beautiful gorgeous song playing as nadine sets up her suicide in her pink dress on the blanket, pills in the bowl and water in a glass…. so haunting
RIP Angelo Badalamenti. Thanks for all the beautiful music ❤
God I love this music. Isn't it too dreamy ?

Not only that but to make you relate to a character like Ben who I think up until that point was a bit of a prick. Amazing show and scene.

I cried too, my friend. I cry almost everytime I see that part, it's so moving. It reminds me of my father, and a lot of other things.

Mattchester I think it’s the latter. I think we’re all the latter.

It wasnt that bad, I dont get people. It was 4 episodes and one of them when it was introduced right at the end of an episode.
@@mooganify always thought its one of the better detours in the show anyway
A shame none of five soundtrack albums feature this version.
Godspeed maestro Badalamenti and thank you for all the unforgettable melodies you gave us.
Thank fuck. Didn't think I'd be able to find this. Thanks for posting.

My god she was beautiful.

The end portion is played on Angelo Badalamenti’s trusty old Fender Rhodes piano.

And@@cpark099...
I always wanted a Fender Rhodes.
That and a Hammond organ.
I just had the strangest dream..
I cry

genius Badalamenti
Oh, Angelo!
He's an Angel!
I'm gonna use this as one of my wedding songs. Maybe the one of the songs that will play during we make our vows.
Did you do it?
Yeah did you do it?
Did you use it?
I know I would, and when people ask where I got it from I say I got it from you!
Josie??
Nostalgia in 2020 is damn too real
Ben was such an asshole but the music alone is effective at making you sad for him
Little Audrey Horne Just walked in

Thanks for putting this up, looking everywhere for it
There is a (legal) CD, you know.
Oh yeah thanks but wanted to listen to it on youtube
Where exactly? It says it's "unrealeased".
This sounds like the FFVII opening for a second.
It completely sounds like a theme you’d hear wandering a small town in early JRPGs. Especially the latter half
"Welcome to Cornelia, the Inn is just ahead"
Is the latter half being played on a wurlitzer? A Rhodes? Something else?
probably an early or skeleton version that grew into a timeless one, second by an incredible cast of talented beginners that really need to thank Mr Lynch for directing them so superbly.
Exactly, I don’t get why people say the acting in TP is so bad.
kinda reminds me of Aerith's Theme from Final Fantasy VII
Oh wow you’re right the tune is a little similar to the main theme too. Both are beautiful soundtracks :)
I sink immediately once it starts...
god my girlfriend hated this version. i miss that.
1:10 kinda sounds like the Love Theme from Mother 3
I could listen to this for hours.
Oh gosh, this is better than the TV version.
Anyone know what episode that incredibly lighted shot of Audrey is from?
I can’t remember the episode number but it’s definitely season one, just after she’s spied on Ben and Catherine having an affair, just before Leland does his dance for the Norwegians.
Episode 5!
Great, thank you! @James Ellis
I always felt nostalgic with it
omg thank you, was looking for this version
Бесконечно
Спасибо, ЧТО ТЫ ЕСТЬ

this beautiful gorgeous song playing as nadine sets up her suicide in her pink dress on the blanket, pills in the bowl and water in a glass…. so haunting
Lovely ❤️
Anyone get a slight Final Fantasy VII vibe from this?
Good
Is this playing when Nadine takes the pills?
Too beautiful
