    I always fall behind on the costume planning. Luckily my girl is spooky, so she does that thinking for me.

    🍂🎃🍁 How much I love the fall season, welcome Halloween 🍁🎃🍂
    There will be bats hanging on my porch again, 2 ghosts and my beloved pumkins
    in different sizes 🥰😙✌🏻
    A scarecrow sits on my porch year-round and serves as an additional scratching post

    I have a few tips of my own. For spooky season, here's my top 3
    tip 1: lighting- Lighting is a must every year for me because I do a haunt every year and if you have a house that's 100 years old with no outdoor plugs or anything of that nature, you're kinda limited as to what you can do. If you can, get solar lights, I use them every year from everything from lumario bags to lighting up jack-o-lantrens. It will save you money in the long run, just make sure you don't put them out in the rain. Learned the hard way.
    Tip 2: Buy craft or grow your own pumpkins- you can find them anywhere they sell them and pumpkin seeds are sold year round normally at your local store. There are plunty of helpful tips on how to grow them into that jack-o-lantren of choice on youtube, as for the craft ones, not only are these ideal for whatever project your working on, but if you don't want to get your hands dirty every year with carving or are looking to improve on your carving skills then a craft pumpkin is a great idea to practice on.
    Tip 3: Pricy doesn't always mean high quality- If you're eyeing that animatronic you've been saving up on to buy or that costume, It's gonna come with some missing or broken parts. I've had this problem for years and thankfully, there are some stores like spirit halloween that do have an in house repair guy/girl to help you with that animatronic that broke down out of the box. Still, if you can, buy cheap or DIY it. It's more than likely you're not going to be using it every year and it will wear and tear overtime,

      Wow thanks for that, some really good tips here. I have always wanted to plant pumpkins, I think I might finally try next year. I totally agree about price and quality too. I'm gonna do a vid in a few weeks specifically for decorating tips and I'll definitely talk a lot about lighting, like you said it's super important. Thanks again for the great tips and thank you for watching!

      If you have a somewhat handy person: Rechargable AA cells can be bought for not much. They make plastic battery holders for AA that are cheap. They make LED components that are flickering LEDs. I will go to Amazon and put a link here
      www.amazon.com/EDGELEC-Flicker-LED-Emitting-Flickering/dp/B07XKB6WH6/ref=sr_1_5?keywords=flickering+led
      www.amazon.com/EDGELEC-Flickering-Flicking-Emitting-Resistors/dp/B0785G1SBP/ref=sr_1_6?keywords=flickering%2Bled&th=1
      These are just to give you the idea. The thing is that you don't need an ON/OFF switch. Its just the LED and a pack of AAs to get something over 12V When you put in the last battery of the set it is on and then you can put it in the pumpkin.

      Wow I'm really glad that my tips could help someone! I used to do the same thing, and I got really sad when October rolled around and I didn't get to do things I wanted to do, or I was stressed about one thing or another...doing this stuff definitely helped make my October and Halloween much more relaxed and enjoyable. Thank you for watching!

    You have wife and kids so your version will be quite different from mine but I am going to put a few things here that you may want to add to the advice;
    -- My first is what I call the "box-o-lantern" This works best if you have a big window facing a place where it can be seen from a distance and a quite large cardboard box. Ideally, you want the room the window is in not be one you are using at the time. Take a large cardboard box spray it with some black paint if it is a light color. Carve the box to be a huge "jack-o-latern" like face on one side. Line the inside opposite the face with aluminum foil. Place one of those fake flame LED lights very low inside the box and position the box as high as you can in the window. When seem from a distance the effect is that you have a huge jack-o-lantern.
    -- I have a thing I created that does a rear projected pumpkin with flickering light and plays spooky sounds that I use in a window of my current house. My 1st suggestion won't work here because where the window faces nobody can be at much distance and see it. Back projected makes it appear to be just a thing that is unsupported in the window.
    -- If you like your neighbors, get some silent puzzle/toy things rated as safe for little kids and give them out along with the candy. The memory of who gave out the toys will linger. If you don't like your neighbors, slide whistles are a good choice, but remember if you get strung up by others don't blame me.

    • @MisterOctober
      @MisterOctober  19 дней назад

      Those are some great ideas, definitely wanna give out something special to the kids in the neighborhood, I love that idea. I also really really love that giant Jack-o-lantern idea with the window, thats something I'd definitely like to try this year! My kids love Halloween as much as I do, so I think they would love to donate their window to the cause hahaha. Thanks for the suggestion and thanks for watching! Stay spooky!

    This year I’m doing a circus themed front porch🎃! I’m making a big clown face out of cardboard and paint that you'll have to walk through (you enter the mouth) to get to the door. I’ll have hanging pool noodles that you'll have to walk through, some clowns sitting around, and I'm making a popcorn stand where a clown will be "working" lol! There are so many inspiring pics on pinterest. Hope this inspired someone🎃
