    I personally added genn to my rainbow dk deck. Most of the good cards of DK are even costed, turn one hero power into Hematurge feels pretty nice to play, and ETC is a nice way of smuggling odd costed cards into the deck.

      i tried it but losing your draw engine and crop rotation feels so bad

    0:42 good attention to detail - the announcer says baku the mooneater is in the left-corner of the ring, since it's the left from the announcer's perspective, but the right from the viewer's (our) perspective. Very clever!

    Odd Rogue frequently saw play in Standard and saw play for a long time in Wild. Before Swordfish, you pretty much chose between a deck with a higher damage ceiling (Kingsbane Pirates), versus one that you could always equip no matter your hand (Odd Rogue). One was better against control decks, the other for aggro since the 2/2 was very efficient for board control. Rogue also had a glut of good one and three drops that also happened to synergize with weapon swings.

    Actually I am that one guy who spams Odd DH with Baku, and it's quite effective xD

    Warrior can get 4 attack for two mana due to Titian's if you build your deck around armor, 4 attack for 2 mana is crazy

    with hearthstone design becoming more about packages, restrictions like genn and baku just will never be as powerful as they were back in the day (regardless of power creep in general)

      You undermine your own point. One of the problems with Genn and Baku is that we recently had a rotation so the card pools are much smaller hence odd/even pools of good cards are too small to make an effective deck. If Team 5 wanted to make Genn/Balu relevant the only think they had to do would be to create strong packages for both decks.

      @sathrielsatanson666
      I'm talking viability in standard, you aren't going to play genn or Baku because they just disrupt existing packages and make every deck worse

      @@BIacklce again, if Blizzard designs packages for Genn and Baku they can easily be relevant. They will most likely not be because Blizzard wants people to buy new cards not use their old ones but whatever.

    In Wild in 2023, Genn was very present, Baku hardly was. These results don't surprise me. Even Shaman and DK were brutal to encounter.

    I don't feel like either card has enough power at this stage to justify locking a class out of half the cards in their library

    It was super obvious that genn and baku would be meh in standard they are literally meh in wild and they have access to every card including standard cards

    • @briankelly1240

      Good point. Thinking about it. Sometimes some cards/decks are more powerful in standard but mostly only when discovery is more powerful for smaller sets of cards.
      Guessing that does not impact for these even and odd decks.

    Omg!? They have brought back Baku? Baku was the worst designed card in history of Hearthstone! Why oh why would they bring back odd paladin!? This was boring, and every game was the same. The capability of 2 dude hero power to swarm the board which creatures which can later be buffed was way too consistent and way too powerful.

    Considering that the best DK decks atm in standard are Reno/Rainbow which both use CNE saying that Corpses value is minimal is not true.
