    Lefty chiming in to say, being able to operate the slide stop easier on a 1911 with my trigger finger is a great bonus I've enjoyed. I also operate the mag release with my trigger finger as well, so my finger stays off the trigger during administrative operations, which is a nice bonus.

    Thanks for reminding me about the affordable 320 mags. I want to get my hands on one of these but the price of this is oof. I really like their service having you accept the fix too even though that likely increases turn around time but it's better than churning it out and hoping. I prefer 5" on 2011 style guns but this being closer to the 320 in design makes me really like the shorter barrel with the longer grip for fat hands.

    No bushing, no barrel link, those are interesting departures from 1911 internals. I've wondered if the link was functionally equal to modern designs, maybe there is an advantage to changing it. 1911 purists may cringe but I think there is an advantage to a coil spring operated extractor, it elminates the fine tuning required by the 1911 extractor. I think 90% of complaints by people that their 1911 doesn't function out of the box are strictly problems with extractor tension.

    • @TheHumbleMarksman
      @TheHumbleMarksman  5 месяцев назад +2

      I would agree with that- it’s a 1911 without the stuff that keeps a 1911 from easily functioning

      Browning's later design the Hi-Power, did away with the barrel link, barrel bushing, and used an external extractor plus double stack magazines, so there's really nothing new in the firearms industry just rearranging ideas.

  • @RimfireAddicted70

    People complaining about a brand new gun having some malfunction without putting but a few rounds in leave me laughing. My Ed Brown 1911's came with full size paper saying do not even contact them until you have fired 500 rds through it. Some just need a bit of firing to smooth up and considering you're going to be firing 10's of thousands of rds a few hundred is nothing. Great video, interesting pistol in today's very competitive double stack market. I think if we see more of these appear at major matches they may gain a small foothold and will likely only evolve and improve from there.

    Quick question. I purchased one of the full size models and I am having an issue with my front sight post staying on the gun. after the first 300 rounds it fell off and i had a smith put it back in then after about another 300 it came back out. had a smith put the suppressor high back into it thinking maybe it was the original sight and after a single mag the sight moved back to the left again. Just curious if anyone else had this issue?

      Removing terms like arms, firearms and guns from your business name is going to be a thing moving forward. Due to AI algorithms downgrading marketing and content using these terms. I imagine this is a consideration.

      I was hoping someone would do a review of the internals. Is it truly a 2011 FCU? It looks like the mag release is an Sig product, external extractor so obviously the extractor does not carry over from the 2011. Are there any other parts compatible if any with a normal 2011 FCU? Are all of the parts in the FCU proprietary to Oracle?

    Specious analogy - that gun is pretty, the cyber truck is hideous.

      This is a true 2011 though. DWX could’ve been much more. No grip module, no optics cut, many parts are not interchangeable with 1911/2011, no rails on compact and a round trigger guard (subjective)

    It's laughable that people are still calling these anything connected to the 1911. The Browning high power is more similar to the 1911 than these 2011's or 2311's

    No such thing as a "single action only duty pistol". That is a range play toy for gaming. Combat pistols have passive safeties and they ABSOLUTELY don't have manual safeties. If you immediately jump on your keyboard to ramble about the Colt SAA or the 1911 and WW2 then you are the type of person that would argue that leeches and blood-letting are good medical practices today because they were cutting edge medical treatments during the middle ages.

      eh - I'm friendly with a couple SAO brands and know for a fact tier 1 units are deploying with them and have used them in combat. That's a big difference from rank and file infantry deploying with them but as with most things the truth is probably somewhere in the middle.
