Damn, I went to boot camp before these recruits were born. I was known as the IT recruit. For some damn reason it appeared I was always smiling at the DIs. So when recruits got sent to the deck, I had to join them.
When I hit the fleet, I always did 22 pull-ups before I got yanked off the bars. I did 20 for me, 1 for the Corps, and 1 for those who couldn't do 20.
Now, I'm just a happy family man living my best life.

America have a formidable and wealthy military but the loud and compulsive training seems unnecessary and cartoonist. I would slow the speed, make the sergeant more as a coach, a teacher (no this rush and bully style) and I would extend the boot camp time one more week.

They only time you will see a marine salute indoors is on duty. We had a problem with Army officers in Iraq over this. Although I was there from 04 to 05. Served 2002-2006
