This is well worth a listen for anyone familiar with the A9 from Perth to Inverness
As a kid, I can remember the various bypasses opening as I passed from childhood through adulthood to my teenage years. I passed my test same year as it finally finished.

PS - can't give a favourite laby, but the standout bit of the old, unimproved Road for me was the s bend under the yellow& black painted railway bridge at Pitlochry
