I can kind of relate to Jimmy. I was bullied a lot in school to. There were times that i wanted to teach my bullies a lesson, but I just had a lot of emotional support to help me get through it all. This episode hurt to watch knowing that I felt the same as Jimmy once.
Plus some of the things he described happened to me too. My bully broke my kindle, he called me names, he would intentionally take my backpack open it and throw it down a flight of stairs and then one time he shoved my head into my locker in gym class for a cheap laugh. Accept when he did it, my head got stuck. I was stuck in the locker for 3 hours before my gym teacher found me and called the principal. Then the principal had to call maintenance to bring a tool to help free my head from the locker. Then the next day, I found out my bully got in trouble and was going to be expelled. That made my day, but then my bully pulled a knife on me and threatened me for ruining his life. Luckily the principal was there. That day he was expelled and then taken to jail for bringing a weapon to school and threatening someone with a mental disability.
I was around 13 when I first watched this episode. This made me understand why my teachers did drills when I was younger because before, I never thought anybody would bring a gun into a school. With the way things are now, I’m scared for my 15 year old sister going to school
The coolest thing about this show is that I gives people a dead serious reminder that violence is not the answer and also explores other real life topics
Slight correction that’s the high school principle(you can see it on his office door), not all high schools have them(at least none I know of) and I agree Nick probably should’ve been expelled but in a day and age where some bullies get away with everything at least he’s getting a punishment.
@@sirthisisabestbuy If this were real life, maybe. Many people are truly *_that_* protective over their children. But in the show, probably not. The censors would never allow a kid to die in an animated series made for kids, and even if they did, it's more likely the writers would've stopped Richie's dad from avenging him, either by arresting him or having Virgil convince him that Richie wouldn't want this.
If this were the case it would be likely that Sean would be devastated and angry. Imagine losing your child to senselessness and not just that this would be a big loss for Static.
I watched this when I was real young and it open conversation with my parents and they told me to tell them anything that’s goes on in school and they would handle it never take matters into ur own hands.

Bullies got what they deserved. They deserved to be punished especially what they done with Jimmy. My mom and I watched together and that’s very important lessons about guns and bullies
From my opinion, This is one of the most important episodes to watch. It teaches you about bullying and gun violence and what to do to prevent it. I wished someone could of helped Jimmy and prevent this incident from happening. That kid was the victim here and the ones that should be punished is the abusers. Also, is it possible to upload the whole episode in HD?
As a Canadian I don’t have this problem but stories come from the news about this more and more so it’s a good thing this show addresses how it starts, it’s bullying it drives people with a weak mentality to the edge and they can’t do anything but look for a violent solution, the other thing is definitely guns being aloud to even be owned by civilians, this all plays a role in it, this is the message of this episode and we need more shows like it .
And not to mention the look on his face, pure horror. And I like how Virgil’s dad said “ What were you thinking having a handgun in the house where a kid could get to it!?”
He was even mad at everyone for Jimmy's misfortune. Frieda, Virgil, Richie and Daisy are the only one who cared for him. And guess what? Jimmy was sent to Juvie and Nick got scolded silently by his parents for his behaviour.

Jimmy was okay, and cool until Nick, and his friends traumatized Jimmy by locking him in the locker. That one made Jimmy snap, and wanted to kill Nick for that.
I love how you can see Jimmy trembling as he’s pointing the gun like he’s hesitant about shooting. He doesn’t want to shoot the bullies but he doesn’t feel like there’s anything else he can do to stop them.
I had bullies all the time growing up, whenever they hurt me, I hurt them even more, despite how small I was back then, I ended up sending most of them to the hospital, to this day I still don’t get how I never got expelled or even suspended after all of that.
Virgil was very confused. First, he was very angry at Jimmy for shooting his friend, Richie. Next, he was mad at Nick for picking on Jimmy for being unpopular, shy and timid. Then, he was mad at himself for not telling anyone (sans his dad and Jimmy's dad) when first heard about the gun, including his teacher. Virgil was confirming his own guilt.
Poor Jimmy, he could have proper care from Virgil, Richard, his own parents, Mr. Hawkins and Frieda when he can never take anymore of the bullying from Nick and his friends.
It's sad because people STILL haven't learned from this nor Columbine. And Nick wasn't sorry like Jimmy said. He was only sorry because Jimmy was a threat to him at the moment. A Bully's biggest fear is one of their victims finally deciding to take a stand against their BS and Jimmy had enough. Wasn't the right answer mind you, but he still wasn't going to put up with it anymore. These teachers need to start punishing the bullies more and NOT waiting until the victim decides to take matters into their own hands.

What I like about Static Shock is how well it tackles with real world issues: Gun violence, bullying, loss of a loved one, racism, homelessness, runaways, acceptance, disabilities, etc.
This has got to be the darkest episodes of Static Shock. After seeing Jimmy getting bullied by Nick, Kevin and Ray, Nick had realized he and his pals pushed Jimmy too far until he cannot take it anymore, resulting him to pull out his daddy's gun out and attempted to shoot Nick for that. Tears of rage had poured down from his face before Richie gave him a speech that will stop him from shooting Nick, only for Kevin and Ray to tackle him. And the last result was Richie getting shot right in the knee in an accident by Jimmy, therefore he had to go to the hospital for his knee getting extra hurt from the father of Jimmy's gun. Utterly sad to watch Jimmy getting bullied and hear what Jimmy said to Nick after he had been pushed to far, especially when Rich got shot right in his knee by poor little Jimmy. 😢
Psychiatrist: "🤨So you weren't there when it happened?" Virgil: "😔No, I got there after the ambulance. It was that anyone could've gotten shot, but Ritchie... *😤He was Jimmy's friend!* " Psychiatrist: "😟Bullets don't discriminate friends, Virgil. They hurt everyone. We're just lucky Ritchie is going to be ok." Virgil: "🥺I'm just so confused. 😠I'm mad at Jimmy for shooting my friend. I'm mad at Nick for messing with Jimmy. I'm mad at myself for not telling anyone when I first heard about the gun! *😡I'M MAD AT EVERYONE!* "
If its possible to reboot this series they should show jimmy being released from juvenile hall. Everyone feels bad for jimmy even virgil and richie because they know it wasn't his fault it was Nicks buddies not Nick just his buddies. They tackled him which made jimmy fall backward and pull the trigger.
Imagine that Kevin's abusive behavior towards the Eddy and his buddies too far could made him expelled from school and send him to juvenile prison and sent to a boarding school for troubled and bad villains like Angelica pickles, la quack and Katz, coco la Bushe, burdine Maxwell and many others if he keeps messing with the Ed,edd and Eddy too much.
Virgil was pretty lucky that he shouldn't have stopped nick and his friends for messing with Jimmy as static himself and reporting Nick's behavior to the proper authorities like his dad a social worker and owns a community center along with the principal at school the situation couldn't have been more worse than before.
"It's okay to feel angry Virgil, it's what we do with that anger that's important." If everyone believed that, this world would be a much better place.
It's funny when I see Law and Order types say bullying is a good thing that helps toughen people up. They also say it helps prepare you for the real world. I then ask them what they would do if they were assaulted in the street and they say fight back and call the Police. They don't like being told that being assaulted is actually a good thing in that situation. They never learn. How can you be a Law and Order type and not support calling an authority figure such as a Teacher when a bullying crime like assault and harassment is taking place. Zero Consistency.
I did the same thing you did but I was lucky enough that the teacher was always around to prevent anyone from assaulting me. Otherwise he would have still continued on bullying me. Edit: I'm going to elaborate on the whole situation, the kid was obsessed with hating on me for being the shortest at my class so he thought that he would gain a lot of popularity if he keep picking on me. He was twice my size and one time he did something very unethical and he thought I would let it slide like always. when I saw the teacher around I took advantage of the situation and decided to punch him in the face multiple times. He wasn't able to process that I will go violent. Thankfully the students separated before the situation escalated and the teacher was on my side because I was his best student. The kid learned his lesson and he stopped messing with me.
Nick's parents and the other two bullies should be kick out of their homes and make them to be homeless. Making them to be on the newspapers on the front page of what happened to the school or be on the social media. It would be a lot cooler if the whole people in town should hate them, such as throwing trashes at them, not welcoming of every stores, banned on every dine-in restaurants, live in the dump, never invite them to the clubs, or never be in the programs to see how they feel when bullying Jimmy multiple times at him.

I teared up a little bit watching this ngl. Good people turned bad because of bad people.

Slight correction that’s the high school principle(you can see it on his office door), not all high schools have them(at least none I know of) and I agree Nick probably should’ve been expelled but in a day and age where some bullies get away with everything at least he’s getting a punishment.
I would threaten to expelled all three bullies unless they took the suspension along with the community service and scared straight program.

This episode is way better than that one OK KO episode.
Yeah that episode was just cringe and about gun control.
This episode was about bullying.

Dang Moxie's human life was wild
What I like about Static Shock is how well it tackles with real world issues: Gun violence, bullying, loss of a loved one, racism, homelessness, runaways, acceptance, disabilities, etc.
This is a sad reality of what our world has come too, Little did animators of the show know is that shootings would only get worse in the future 😞

What were you thinking?!? Having a gun in the house where a kid could get into it!
If those two other bullies didn’t move to tackle Jimmy, I'm pretty sure this whole mess could've been resolved peacefully.
One guy messed with me in high school but I stood up to him and ignored everything he said and after that folks didn’t mess with me
I did the same thing you did but I was lucky enough that the teacher was always around to prevent anyone from assaulting me.
