James, Henry & The Motorail

- Dear Viewers,
Its the fall of 1977 and Sir Topham Hatt has ordered the construction of new Motorail Terminals at Tidmouth, Killdane, and Vicarstown. This was to increase passenger convenience and expand the NWR's business endeavors to include automobile transport for local dealerships. The mainline engines like Henry, James, Bear, and Donald & Douglas are to pull these hot new trains. Even Gordon is being trialed with Motorails on the Wild Nor' Wester. James one day was feeling quite impatient considering he hadn't gotten a chance to pull the train yet. The engines are fed up with his complaining but after Henry experiences a major issue, James gets his chance sooner than expected, but how well did it go?
Sincerely, The Creator
This is my first Thomas fan story in quite a few years so hopefully it turned out alright, lemme know what you think! I also wanted to try narrating something other than commentary videos for a change. I should also point out that the SI3D Sodor route and The Railway Works' Vicarstown set have been heavily modified by me so just be aware of that before you download the latter. Also, I wasn't aware someone had already written a Motorail-focused story (Henry & The Motorail by dcg12b Trainz) for Trainz until I was just about completed with my script and finishing up my upgrades to the sets used in the video. I don't watch very many Trainz Thomas videos so in other words, I didn't intend on ripping off someone's idea. This idea actually came to me after I was just looking at random stations on Sodor and discovered Killdane had a Motorail Terminal built in 1977 according to the TTTE Wikia. Anyway, hope you enjoy!
This video is also intended for a general audience, putting this here so RUclips doesn't try to fuck this video with a YT kids rating.

Wow! This was amazing. Fantastic work. Keep it up!
Heh.... ever thought of doing the Motorail concept one day, Victor? :3
Victor tanzig
Soooo what happens to the stories of sodor?
@@trentodejar2463 Might wanna check Victor Tanzig's RUclips Channel for the most recent community post from him. ;)
@@jimmyhook4852 k
As Thomas once said, "Sometimes when we engines help eachother out of a jam, things can still go wrong."
So?
@@jimmymccartney2049so what?
Really?
@@jimmymccartney2049 so what
I love hearing James voice and seems to sound nostalgic for me, real lovely feeling
well, this was a great story and inspiration to Henry and the Motorail, this was a great reference version to the story. anyway, excellent job on making this.
I am wondering if those guys are friends or work with the same story community
Amtrak has a train that also allow passengers to bring their cars with them on board. We called it the Amtrak auto train. The only non-stop train in Amtrak's system
I don’t remember James sounding Scottish, but I love it since it feels more authentic to his ego driven character from the original series.
It's supposed to be a Scouse/Liverpool accent
I was gonna say scoglish
@@TheGreatNateVAeveryone gives him that accent. It’s weird
@@dillonohlemiller401 the reason is James came from the Lancashire & Yorkshire Railway so his Liverpool accent fits his origins.
Whoever voiced james did an amazing job. The voice really fit james perfectly! Props
Sodor railways: makes motor trains
Seaboard Coastline: Hey... that pretty good
Is that a reference to the _Auto Train_ between Lorton and Sanford (and probably also the less successful Louisville-Sanford) because that's immediately what I thought of.
@@DiamondKingStudios Yes. Good observations
@@DiamondKingStudios isn’t the motorail the first AutoTrain?
@@Boypogikami132 yes
@@DiamondKingStudios actually, this is referencing the "motorail" which was a service that British Railways provided between 1955 and 2005, (with many calling for it's return)
These voice actors are the best I’ve ever heard! Good job on getting them involved! It really brings the story to life!
Idk…Henry’s voice actor spoke in a weird way. It didn’t fit
The way you explain the motorail service in the story sounds almost like one of your regular videos, and I gotta say, I'm loving it!
Also loving how Gordon sounds like Top Hat from TUGS!
Henry's clanking so loud I love it
9:30 love the Super Mario add on the platform of the station XD
This was so awesome! I wasn't expecting you to post something like this but I loved it so much! Incredible! Loved it! I watched the dcg12b version as well and I love both of your stories
Fun fact you read the description it says what year this takes place which matches perfectly with Railway Series lore considering that there is a motorail terminal in the exact places he said there is in The Railway Series
@@LMS5935 really? Wow that's cool
@@bluebellsfan8704 even got the year right
@@LMS5935 that's very nice
It's so great to see you back to doing more original Thomas content again, and brilliant story! I love the cinematography shots you've done, as well as how you've written Henry and James' characters and their rivalry. Poor Henry really does have a problem with tires, does he? And the part where the car fell off from the motorail flatbed after James yanked at it reminded me a bit of 'There Goes a Truck'. I can't imagine what the owner of the car would have to say about this. LOL!
Also, I love how you used actual British siren sounds for railway crossings unlike the CGI Series. Keep up the great work!
5:16 I genuinely got scared here 😅
Great vid - I also enjoyed the soundtrack that played when James was at Killdane!
7:46 This scene looks like the episode when James derailed into the cow field
You mean "Thomas and the Breakdown Train".
The routes, script, voices are all amazing
One of the best stories I have seen in a while
Henry liking the motorail services
"Wait a minute! That's illegal!"
Great episode. You have such a documentary voice and script structure, I wouldn't expect it to work so well in a story.
The visuals are stunning all around. I especially love the shots of James travelling with the combined train.
Brilliant work for your first original story in a few years!
Very good. I found this very entertaining. I do love the Henry and James duo
4:03 - I hear Thomas’ whistle.
7:45 It is a good thing that James' brakes was not on fire, when he had to pull the motor rail and derail on the cow field
Did anyone notice James jazz theme song is remix with super mario bros 2 over world theme ?? 7:37
This is really good. Another video regarding the motorail concept, amazing!
This is marvelous; the voice-acting, story, settings, and models are all fantastic! Donald looks saucy as well XD
8:13 Think about the episode "The Runaway" back on season 2 when Thomas over ran the platform with Annie and Clarabel and found this most embarrassing
I really liked the shot of the car leaving the flat bed
the guy doing Thomas sounds like he recorded it in an airing cupboard!
That guy voicing Thomas was TweestieRailroader AKA Jonah Snyder.
@@DillianTrainzStudioseveryone’s recording audio needs to be the same quality so it’s not as distracting
2:05 It is a good thing that James didn't bang on the coaches and make a hole, so that the passenger would have to give up his boot and tie the car coupler with the bootlace
James: *TRIGGERED*
Such a great story, it sounds like a Wilburt story to a tee
@Garrett Smith I feel like the Rivalry between Henry and James is more of a Christopher awdry thing considering that he has wrote multiple stories about that
Great job. While you might not have been the first to do a story about the Motorail, your take on this was awesome. Narration was on point too. I'm personally going to take both yours and dcg12b Trainz's as canon.
I like how Gordon, Henry and James accused Duck of referring them to “Galloping Sausage”, “Old Square Wheels” and “Rusty Red Scrap Iron” and they get livid at Duck when it was really Diesel and in this episode James then plays along with it and calls Henry “Old Square Wheels”.
Please keep doing these. This was incredibly well produced.
Very nice tale! The cinematography was stellar the whole way through
Dude, you are an amazing video editor and narrator! Words cannot describe how amazing you are!
This is one of the best fan stories of modern day Sodor because of the use of motor rail services and the rolling stock models!! Its these details that matter!
Even though the story takes place in 1977 yes it's a pretty good story even if it's not modern-day
I would pay a lot to see a motorail in TTTE.
Awesome video, mate!👍
Great efforts! But.... I can agree with others that it just doesn't have the same feel to it as the Ringo or Carlin era. Could really use ol' George cussing out the other engines in the roundhouse.😂
This is such an amazing video! However, I wouldn't want to be the owner of that car at 8:50 lol!
9:17 They must be on steroids to push a car onto a railcar on that angle. xD
James ain't going to get away from the wrath of Sir Topham Hatt
1:06 The Italian Job!!!!
This was good. The third story centered around a motorail service ive seen.
What were the first two?
@@jamessmithandgarrettsmith3623 1 in WildNorWesters Sodor the modern years and Another Channel whoes name ive forgotten
You mean dcb12a
@@jamessmithandgarrettsmith3623 Yes, watched it twice. Its good
The original Motorrail story was ok, but this one was better 😁👍
I think I know where henry's sound effects for the noise at 2:50 come from. Is it from "The Ghost Train" by
AndrzejMastalerz posted in April 25 2007?
This is some really good stuff. The detail is pretty spot on as well.
Nice it's reminding me of Amtrak's auto train
Yeah, I feel the same.
This just got a shoutout from Victor Tanzig, and it deserves it. Well done!
I love this story so much
Don't pay Thomas and James no attention Henry.
This feels a lot more like a San Juan Branchline episode, I like it
Aah yes the classic mario music in a Thomas video
That was fantastic. Great work!
Great Job. I especially like the use of more modern and realistic coaches and trucks. I hope you do more in the future.
2:40 is that the noises from the “ghost train” video about 10 years ago? It sounds similar
Where’s Victor Tanzig when you need him
He commented on the video btw. ;)
I loved this you Put some railway series Locations such as tidmounth Station I hope you made More Thomas videos
Yo u had the detective James theme!!!!!!
That was fantastic. James got his chance and then Henry ended up with a mishap of his own. Well done and TheGermanofSodor does a smashing job as Henry 😀.
What theme was that you used in the end credits?
A combination of James’ and Henry’s theme
A nice fan made episode!
Nice video!
A great Masterpiece 10/10
Wow, motorail trains are wonderful. Keep it up! Well done!
Cool upload Jared!
Lol when i saw this i was like:
Didnt i already see this video?
Seeing the real coaches in these and it's better.
0:51 - joe’s voice from blues clues.
XD EXACTLY!!!
I'd call it "Henry, James & The Autorail" in America.
Loved this. DM me those motorail terminal assets please ;) especially the wagons :)). Also have to note the modified tidmouth to accommodate the motorail terminal didn't look as intuitive as it could have. Good job :)
i like this It's Awesome!, btw i enjoyed the Ending Theme.
The uk version of amtrak's autotrain and freight railroad autorack trains
Bro this was absolutely beautiful Great job dude👍
You need a playlist for this
happy 1 year of this video
I like the Little Moment Between Thomas and Henry, sure Thomas tease Henry calling him "Old Square Wheels" and Henry got a Little Mad but when Henry's tyres got loose, Thomas thinks he Jinxed Henry and later apologize to him and Henry Said It was all right,It show that even If Thomas is cheeky sometimes and Henry act like a prick,i blame Gordon for that, they treat each other as Family.
This is very well done my friend. I hope to see more of these in the future
This would be a cool episode!!
1:06 James complains about pulling the Motorail.
Those are pretty nice extensions for the motor rail pick up.
Red car: (rolls off the flatbed) Whoa! (lands on the tracks) OUCH! (watches the train pull away) HEY! COME BACK!
I just made the connection amtrak you did a great job
that was lovely
very well done
Silly James.
Not bad. This works.
Love the passing shots 👌 😍
if you dont mind me asking, whats the outros theme name?, also nice video, loved every aspect of it
Funny enough, that music isn't related to Thomas at all. It's from a Sonic the Hedgehog game. Sonic 3. A remixed version of Carnival Night Zone.
@@6709ify yoooo nice thanks
Very nice work, very enjoyable
9:30 Can someone explain why Mario is on a poster for the North Western Railway?
I thought it said monorail in the title for a second

What types of cars are on the motorail, and if I might ask if I can have my lotus cortina taken to sodor on the motorail
I wished we could’ve seen actual motor rails on the show
Well done! But, there a grim background sense that they are delivering their own demise. What will happen when Beeching's axe swings for them?
Very good job
