Great original story David, I like the idea of a motorrail service for story. This reminds of WNW’s series with Evan and Edwin working on the Norramby Branchline.
I like how you used D199 as the Mainland Diesel that helps Henry out of his jam. To me, it was kinda like him getting revenge against Henry for humiliating him in Super Rescue. You probably intended to use him as a generic nameless character, but that's just how I see it.
Lol, clever theory. Although this could be D199 last appearance where in Bert redemption, He was later scrapped. Though that could be just a generic diesel though.
Let’s be honest, henry can have a streak with nearly anything. like first the rain, then an elephant, and now named trains. Good grief, Old Square Wheels can really be bitten by karma harder than any other engine on the railway. Well done. I have an idea for this story's sequel: "Murdoch and the Motorail" where a traffic jam on the road between the mainland and Sodor gets far worse where it would lead to the Sodor Motorail happen again where Murdoch, while boasting to Boco and Gordon he is Sodor's strongest engine, would be assigned to take the train while adding extra freight-cars, which were also needed to be taken to the London, creating the longest mixed-train on Sodor's history while Murdoch would pull his unusual train in high-speed.
