This is one of the reason why I hate to join a team under the certain esport Org. They only took a chance to threat their player and making money of their player through the winning prizepool tournament and its unfair for the player who deserved to got more than that. Without passion, they would just throw their player out of their org team when the things doesn't goes well. I hate that. I'll rather build a team clan from scratch without needing any support by org. Then the prizepool from the tournament we won, would belong 💯 fair and square between the player of my team

Talk to any Source pro that has been 1.6 previously. They will tell you that 1.6 is the more skillful game and also a much more enjoyable experience, however the MONEY is in Source now. Sponsors want a game that will showcase their hardware and 1.6 isn't that game anymore. The popularity of source, professionally anyway, has nothing to do with enjoyability or the level of skill needed.
