Because of you I have pursued graphic design, gotten the adobe cloud, and plan on going to college for graphic design. Thank you so much for being an inspiration
hey there lovely weirdos, I know it's 2021 but I dare to ask - are Photoshop CS6 & Illustrator CS6 still good enough for freelance graphic design?? I have them on my old PC and they run smoothly and I don't have money right now to spend it on a monster computer so I can run the newest versions.
The way I got around the whole ‘you can’t put this in your portfolio’ thing from working at an agency is that I created a pdf portfolio with that work. I then linked it via a hyper link on my resume. That way potential new jobs can see the work that I can do but it’s not out in the public eye.
kel!! i'd love some mockup stuff and personal branding stuff! i also would love if you made some videos of you just drafting ideas, since when you start the videos you either already have an idea in mind and can just begin with the design!
I still can't believe you made that green Jonas Brothers shirt - I've tried to find it everywhere, but went to the second leg of the tour and it is sold out now!! You do the coolest and most satisfying projects, I wish I could wear some of your merch that you have made! RIP but also congrats, incredible work!!
i *know* you're supposed to write in 3rd person when doing it in your portfolio, but I always feel *so* pretentious "ohoooo look at me, i'm totally important enough to have someone else writing about me, i'd never do it myself, i'm not a peasant"
My view is companies should write "About" pages in third person; individuals should write "About" pages in first person. Way more of a personalised approach to what is supposed to be a page for connecting with viewers on predominantly an emotional level. Use your portfolio/projects page to sell on the tangible reasons the viewer should get in contact.
i’m redoing my portfolio right now and it’s been really overwhelming because i’ve never had any actual advice on how to do that so this was extremely helpful and helped me find more direction. Thank you!!
I would love to see a video about how you do photography work (ex. photo editing, making gifs, and actually taking pictures) and video editing (ex. how you make your intro)! You are so incredibly talented and inspiring!
jane haviland the first portfolio is intimidating but you just have to have confidence in your design decisions and know when to balance finishing something vs. perfecting it!
Your channel has inspired my love for fonts lol. I've started getting more into graphic design and it's actually pretty fun! Recently, I had my best friend's mom ask me to make a design for the invitations for their bridal shower. I think I did pretty well!
I stumbled upon your video while researching for my own design portfolio creation, and was already floored by your designs and aesthetics™️ but as soon as I heard BTS I was psyched. As a fan it was a wow moment, because I've seen your design on the Speak Yourself Tour merch and it's wild seeing the person behind it. You did great, I'm so glad I found your channel and imma be checking out more videos for sure
this was really helpful to me. im a student photographer and seeing how you set your portfolio up really helped me think of new and exciting ways to organise my work.
The website looks great! Just a few observations: neither posters nor photos open in a lightbox when you click on them, and I believe there's an extra space after "merchandise design" and "Kel" in the About section 🙈
I’m really new here - I just found your channel this week - but I love all your graphic design videos! Your work is incredible and you’re so much fun to watch. I’d definitely love to see more mockups, branding, redesigns, or really anything related to your art.
im currently doing my final website for my design right now this is such good timing ahh! im a final year graphic design student and your videos have gotten me through a LOT! especially with motivation to keep going in these hard times... so thank you! your work is amazing your one of my big inspirations! im talking about you as one in my final VIVA presentation for uni in 3 weeks

I like how you shared about knowing who you are as a designer. Doing so can be pretty difficult and I'm glad to know that there's a process of iterations and re-brands. Sometimes in the design industry, we just dismiss or look down upon those who we think are still trying to find themselves. But that itself is a difficult process especially if one has gone through so much conditioning to be someone else other than themselves.
You don't even understand how much you helped me. I have been working and re-working my portfolio for the past month and I found this vide yesterday and I am almost finished with it. Thank you so much!
As a student in Design at my university, I wanted to let you know how thankful I am for your videos and insight! They've helped me become much less intimidated by my career choice.
It really took me a good chunk of the video to recover from the knowledge that you worked with BigHit lol. That's so awesome! Your entire portfolio is really impressive ~
