What i really liked in Delta Force is:
- Yeah its a copy, but a very good copy.
- Its not just a copy, they are trying to improve where BF2042 failed. You can clearly see in the details like when Falck tries to cure someone in BF2042 and the guy is running, you never hit the guy, but in Delta Force it "locks" onto the guy. Sniper shots shows the bullet path so you can better compensate for the bullet drop. It shows that they really played BF2042 and they know its problems.
I’ve been saying it looks like a way better version of bf2042 with good gun play! Count me in. I stopped playing bf2042 after 2 days and haven’t gone back! Worst bf game I’ve ever bought
it is a really good copy indeed. They seem to improve things I wish bf had. From QoL, a proper leaning system and Tarkovs awesome gunsmith

Nah, it is not a copy at all. I feel like people don't seem to get that the Original Delta Force game dropped in 1998. The first Battlefield game was 1942 and that came out in 2002. Delta Force had up to 32 players online. If anything the people behind Battlefield Copied Delta Force.
They're just taking they used to do with older Delta Force games and made it modern.

Well despite everything i played bf2042 quite some hours. So this game only needs to be better than bf and that's not a very high bar to get over. With bf2042 pretty stale now and no more updates and the next release over a year away, i guess this might fill the gap very well

@@More_answers in theory a free game should be especially interested in being good and keeping players engaged because this is how they earn money. While paid games only need to hype you with trailers and when you realize they suck the money is already paid. Some very long living and successful games are free to play and a lot of paid games were really bad. So i don't think free or not is a reliable indicator for a good or bad game.

It's one of the reasons I couldn't do battlebit, the directional audio was woeful.
Apparently the footsteps can be heard from long distance
i've seen tons of gameplay and the audio is honestly crisp. Idk about directional, but the weapons sounds much better than 2042 and the headshots sound a bit like BFV i believe, the explosions sound good, etc.
but yeah, ofc directional audio is important, so i hope it's good too.

The US government intervened on giving guns in video games their real model names after Sandy Hook... Most western devs have followed suit, but this is Tencent so they don't care
I played for 10 hours straight so far and I do love it. There is some questionable stuff in there though:
- hero shooter (it needs to go because it literally kills the vibe of this game)
- this Luna character with yet again another wallhack shit
- Lack of proper movement (only this red guy has some temporary movement abilities which is not enough)
- vehicles feel underwhelming
- the maps are fine, however 387584 headglitch spots have been identified already
Some good stuff:
- guns feel great
- attachment system is vast and still transparent
- gunplay is great
- fun was found

Remember people Battlefield is a copy of Delta Force not the other way around. People keep trying to say this is a copy of Battlefield when Delta Force originally came out years before Battlefield was a thing.
The Original Delta Force had 32 players online and it came out in 1998. Battlefield 1942 came out in 2002 with 32 players online. Who copied who? >.>

imagine DeltaForce is an actually good game for free why should you even bother to pay 60-120€/$ for the next game that may or may not flop mere minutes after release....
You should at least WAIT until the game is out for a few weeks and reviews by real people are in and not just the gaming press and YT CCs before you buy. I seriously hope most players have learnt that lesson now. That would be at least something good that came from the BF2042 debacle.
With DF:HO I must say I am not holding my breath, given the P2W track record of Tencent and the fact that F2P usually always draws in lots of cheaters, which would make this maybe otherwise really good to enjoyable game again unplayable. Let's wait, but I would not get my hopes up.

I think the competition aspect is huge. Battlefield NEEDS competition to remain relevant and also force them to implement features that players want. If delta force has features that BF players want hopefully it will force dice/EA to get their heads out of their ___ and actually make a decent game again.
If this ends up being good, it will be very interesting to compare it's budget to 2042

Anyone, ANYONE criticizing battlefield competitors saying they are just copying battlefield are EA bots. You have to be beyond delusional to still think battlefield is good or that they will ever recover from where they're at. Everything is on a decline. Literally everything.
This feels like they took the best qualities/elements of what people love about Call of Duty (specifically Modern Warfare 2019) and Battlefield (3, 4, and the later half of 2042's lifespan) and put it all together.

also cant forget about the super greedy monetization as well since a Chinese company developed/published the game. Should expect lots of paywalls and cool skins that are next to impossible to get if you dont pay with real money

It's uncanny how similar it is to battlefield. Especially with that strange vehicle turret after 3:03 there. The little tube that fires, tilts, jiggles the barrel, and tilts back down. That is like, dead on the little cannister shot thing from 2042. I genuinely haven't seen that anywhere else, is that a real gun they put on armored vehicles?

I would also love the return of generic soldiers without names, backstories or abilities but sadly, they aren't going anywhere. We should be happy this game only seems to have abilities that expand the core gameplay instead of core gameplay being focused entirely around them! Look around the FPS market right now, every game is a hero shooter and this one seems to put the least focus on them!

Agreed. The only people they're going to get with this one are the Apex, Valorant, CoD and 2042 crowd. Which the current 2042 crowd aren't even veteran Battlefield players for the most part, they came from those casual shooters I just mentioned. Such a waste of resources, and a waste of a potentially awesome multiplayer setting by not staying in the same time period as the single player.

@@javierbarrantes5834 I's just too zoomy for me. And I dislike how common it is now to have such heavy spotting mechanics. I'd be more interested if it had less HUD, slower sprint, nameless grunts, a grittier artstyle and destruction. It seems everyone is going the high speed operator route now.
The sad truth is, it is F2P and therefore will 100% be cheater infested and given the track record of this company it will also be P2W.
I would much rather see this normally priced (50EUR/USD/...) and be a 'real' competitor of BF.

@@mikeyplayzwrld It is Tencent we are talking about here. Not sure if they treat DF: HO the same way they treat their titles released for the Chinese marked. Maybe there will be some push-back. But they have to earn money and if they are not satisfied with what they make with cosmetics alone, they might still do it 'the old way'.
I for one NEVER pay anything for cosmetics and as soon as the game turns the P2W route I will not play it at all. But I would be willing to spend 50 USD/EUR for a game that is actually good (after release and if the reviews are in and I could watch some streamers playing the game to assess if it fits what I am looking for)

just to point out higher weapon customisation does not mean a meta will not form, games like CoD and Tarkov and do have metas, having healthy balanced metas is more a matter of constant balance tweaking
Delta force was around before battlefield btw. Its also been doing large scale multiplayer with vehicles since before battlefield 2.

Really enjoying the gameplay... good hitreg.. doesnt feel laggy... good performance... actually feels complete and pretty polished... there is some minor things that could be tweaked... hoping this game isnt too far off from releasing to the public 😎

This game looks awesome so far, but I am highly skeptical about there not being goofy looking skins once the monetization rolls out. Especially considering where the game is being made.
I'm gonna be honest, this technical alpha is already way more fun than 2042 ever was for me. Even with all the problems this build has.

when an alpha looks more polished than finished products.
this game looks like a mash of BF mechanics with MW19 gunplay, so basically took the best of those games and put them together.
This is what we expected 2042 to be from the trailer instead of whatever the fuck that was until season 1
the biggest problem with f2p in general is.... hackers... hacking is wayyy easier to do on f2p games.

2042 in an alternate universe.
Everything looks great with the exception of the futuristic gadgets and abilities. I’m personally done with hero shooters and future settings. I played all the original Delta Force games and this seems to have some dna but strays away from the emphasis on realism. I can appreciate that this puts pressure on Battlefield to either come back swinging or fade away. I’m definitely interested to try Hawk Ops out and the Black Hawk Down component looks amazing
The free to play aspect is the godsend. It will make EA's head spin

I don't know, it's free to play, everything depends on their monetization strategy and it's tencent.
The campaign is paid content and I assume they'll be teirs to unlock BP stuff early and get other prem content. They don't seem to be leaning out of BP and Skins though. They said they would keep it grounded.
One thing about this is that I think this game doesn't have a focus on Destruction (nor did 2042 or even BFV) but it's a shame that this feature is getting fizzled out, it's one of the big draws for me as a Battlefield fan and I wish this feature was a big highlight of the next Battlefield for an example.
This game looks like an improved version of 2042, reminds me of COD of how high the quality with the animations, visuals etc but I don't want another type of game where it's essentially a huge TDM, I want to feel like I'm in a battlefield, get immersed into a shooter that isn't a milsim. It's why I also loved Battlefield because I did feel like I was in a battle (BF1 was the peak of my immersion despite historical accuracies going out the window) and this game seems like I'll just be running around as a merc that I don't care about shooting people on a map that won't really be dynamic nor be invested in the reason as to why I'm fighting.
Maybe my opinion and others with it have faded out from the picture but I feel like people are forgetting what made BF great and this game seems like a good game but I don't think any game will capture the BF feeling besides BF but with how the past Battlefield games have been, I'd be suprised if the next Battlefield wasn't somehow even worse and more flat than 2042.
IIRC Ww3 was the last try to be a BF competitor. It had potential but server issues on its release made the game get a huge review bomb on Steam this way helping to kill a good future for that game. I'm hyped for Delta force but my concerns are about the vehicle warfare. And according to Ghost gaming at least the helis were kinda meh like 2042-MW'ish. Let's see the ground vehicles when I get my hands on the alpha. And hope we get better vehicles mechanics/handle in the future versions of the game

The weapon customization in Delta Force from what I’ve seen so far has just about everything I want to see. I just need to know if we’ll be able to select different reticule for low zoom sights like you could in COD BO1, adjust reticule color and size like you could in BF4, and choose different crosshairs for higher zoom sights like you could in Battlefield Hardline with the gun bench. Lastly I’m hoping for at least one scope for sniper rifles like a 6X scope that will have the old black around the scope like games used to have in a lot of FPS games before we started getting the dual rendered sights. My reasoning is purely for nostalgia.

have about 40 hours already so here are my thoughts
- gun play feels great, changing attachments actually feels impactful on the gun's performance
- movement is slightly slower that you get in 2042 or battlefield 5. think of bf4 but a bit more lightweight. only one class has the slide ability and b-hopping isn't really a thing. the leaning mechanic is also very good
- vehicules are powerful enough if left unchecked
- the operators abilities feel fairly balanced, catering to a player's style rather than giving up an edge on everyone else
- probably due to the fact that the closed is filled with content creators, but you rarely find a balanced round. people don't know or don't care or don't understand that you can revive your squadmates, focusing mostly on that juicy streak which does fuck all for the team's benefit.
- performance is crazy good, both on mid end and high end pc's. if you can decently run mw3/2042 then you'll have no problem running this one.
The team balance thing won't be a problem once the Reddit PTFO community gets their hands on the game.

The big problem is that all of you just played the version without any microtransactions. Arena Breakout Infinite was also super great during the first beta. Now during the second one we can see the implemented shop and sadly we can see where this will go.

Since I have only ever played bf5 and bf2042 this looks really fun. My main problem with getting into old battlefield games rn is the player count, and thats why I haven't tried 3-4 etc. This game looks super fun like old bf titles appear to be and I hope will have a big playerbase.
Really keen to see what movement options it has. One thing I like about 2042 is its movement potential, if it had bf4’s air strafe that’d be golden, but at face value this seems to not have too much

Exactly the same stuff as World War 3 on Steam, but Delta Force has a already known name and it mades the difference. No one is talking about WW3 that is free also and is so much BF that BF itself. More close to realistic gameplay. Definitevly worth it to go and play this game and help developers for it. Hope @Enders that you will take a look to it and maybe do a video about it 👍

The 2042 we should have gotten
For the next bf title I would like it if dice had the nerve to tone down the twitch/shooter and extacy movement that all modern shooters have. It seems delta force have it too judging on the gamplay. If you start playing bf3, bf4 or bf1 today. You will at first think it feels kind of slow, but the movement is more realistic to what humans move like. And it ads up to more fun gameplay once you get used to it. It just feels a bit more authentic. But I guess it's because shooter games always cater to pc, mouse and keyboard style

Brother, this game is free to play, of COURSE there are going to be wacky skins running around.
BF2042 was missing so many basic fps things because it was a BR game but around 60% ish done people stopped liking BR games as much so they tried to turn it into some COD BF mix with BR things still left in it. That's why it's missing that BF soul all the other games have about them. I hope the next BF game will be great they got a lot of the team back that worked on 3 and 4 so they might go back to their early days of how BF is done. I don't think they wanted 2042 to come off as a crash grab or lazy just bad timing on trying to do a full AAA BR game so I hope they put the work into the next one.

I'm a big battlefield player. Love it.they've had their ups and down. 2024 has gotten a hundred times better. But same here, the more and more I. Watched this game. This looks like it's gonna be lit. And it's bringing back kind of old battlefield vibes and also has multiple game modes.. Can't wait to play it.
Things you expect in a Battlefield game....as Enders lists off things, his friend is firing the sniper, and im like....ACTUAL FUCKING BULLET DROP! Means sniping might return to the days of actually being a skill based weapon, instead of tee hee, point, click, dead....
If Hawkops winds up being good, good on them. Im not so attached to the "Battlefield" name that I cant give props to a game doing it right.
If no weapon meta forms that will put the game up atleast 3 points on my 10 point scale. I genuinely LOATHE metas. Seeing 3000 people running around with the same guns, with the same scopes, the same grips, and clowning anyone who doesnt run that meta build as "bad" or w/e....yeah, fuck the metas.

My only critic rn is it feels too much like a mobile game sometimes with the wacky operators and their goofy gadgets, just feeling out of place and kinda destroys the immersion in havoc mode

I really liking the higher ttk, battlefield should not have low ttk makes the game extremely slow and campy
Seems like a really nice game, won't gonna lie. But I'd like to hear more about Delta Force (a nostalgic title from the 2000 Delta Force: Land Warrior which was an awesome game) rather than listen to how much better it is than Battlefield. Haven't played a decent BF since BF4 and ditched it altogether. Thank you for the vid!
