Tally Hall performs Ruler of Everything at Laundromatinee.com

- Tally Hall grew up, strapped their ties back on, left the tiny indie label that pushed them out of the nest, and signed on to a major label this year. The batch of songs they've been playing over the last few years, from the album Marvin's Marvelous Mechanical Museum, were re-recorded and re-mixed for their Atlantic Records re-release.
Beyond the cover songs which have also been a calling card, fan-builder and staple of their live show, the band has been playing these same songs for at least the last three to four years. Some may be hopign they are nearing the end of their life, and a new release should be on the horizon. I'm sure the band is grateful and hopeful as well. Some of the new material is starting to find its way out to the internet even.
Beyond the obvious humor and frivolity involved in their writings and recordings, this band is filled with talent and enthusiasm. Maybe it's all a little too kitchy for the band to ever end up being labeled as "great", especially at their young age, but they certainly will always fit the "clever" and "fun" categories.
Appealing to young and old alike, Tally Hall is a wholesome bunch of fun-loving musicians. When they stopped by The Pop Machine studio for our session they were all business. Displaying the talent, professionalism and charm that has helped them reach major label status and book more than a few late night talk show gigs. Their good looks, catchy melodies and tight harmonies will be enough to sell some records and keep them in the public eye even if they have to play these same songs and covers for the time being. Their next effort will be the true test of their staying-power and relevance, but the one thing you'll be able to count on is it will be fun.
Tally hall was so ahead of their that they made a comeback *without even coming back*
keep it coming back 👊😔

Has anyone else noticed that tally hall has received several "big breaks" but they still aren't considered a big band
How does this stuff usually work? Because I just find it confusing
@@Persun_McPersonson Consider what just happened. This very song exploded as a meme, so TONS of people are finding Tally Hall again.
I myself found Tally Hall out last year. The Bidding became popular on TikTok (though I have never once touched the app) and because of its popularity on there, I got it in my yt recommended.
And ages ago, Banana Man was a big meme, where some of the even earlier fans found TH.
It's really really cool, and also interesting to see that they're all Joe songs. I wouldn't doubt that we'd see some Turn The Lights Off meme in the next couple years.
Big bands usually 12 or more musicians and TH is just 5 guys
@@Legoman1352 By "big band" I think op just means famous. Like The Beatles or The Eagles. Both of those bands are only comprised of a few members, too.
Probably has to do with rock becoming more underground, shifting music industry for more artificial success through industry plants, and how fame is kinda broken and there haven’t been as many one wit wonders.
Sure we had old town road but they’ve seemingly gotten more spaced out. But ruler of everything has been memed so maybe they will get lucky this time...
I like how he takes out a megaphone, whispers into it, while already having a microphone
The prefixes cancelled out making just a phone
@@viator5000 actually, a megaphone+microphone = phone, because mega is big, and micro is tiny.
@@RubyPiec Isn't that what I said lol?

SunChild Arts I’m with you there
Same here
SAAAAME! I wish they blew up so I could have found them sooner 😢
you ain't late? you're in an important time in tally halls history! after many years things are kind of tying together, and Joe along with Andrew are interested in getting back together, the rest is kind of keeping things low, but still 2/5 officially are interested in getting the band back together. the only one not really doing music right now is zubin!

Why did I expect them actually sing in a deep voice
I wonder too
Imagine if they had and breathed in balloons full of helium and krypton/sulfur hexafluoride (with some oxygen in them to not displace breathable air) before singing
My man just rapped into a megaphone. This is why I love Tally Hall.
‘SO GIVE IT UP AND SMIL-‘

Tally Hall: Quits because the band isn’t popular

joe rapping in the megaphone is like mice trying to rap
I love how they all kinda dance while performing. My man Zubin tho just always looks so into what he’s playing. He likes to bop with the music.
zubin is the most fun to watch during live performances. he always looks in the zone. i love it when he turns his back to the audience just to vibe out
Joe running out of breath every time they record this song is always really funny to me.
13 always sounds so cool in their live performances, I wish there was a studio version like it
ROB CAN COUNT!?!?!?
Tally hall is such an underrated band, its sad they disbanded
There have been rumors that eventually they might get back together
I don't know how true it is, but one of the people in Tally Hall said that in this life time they will do a tour
They're not disbanded! They're just takin' a long, long, longgggg break. It has been mentioned in a few interviews with the band members that its very likely Tally Hall will come back again eventually.
There's a lot of stuff that saying they could be back, Ross, Andrew and Joe are defo the people who would LOVE for Tally Hall to make a return, the problem is that Rob has a job working for Disney which means he's VERY busy and Zubin is now working in medical stuff, and on the front lines too.
Gotta be the only band I’ve ever seen use a megaphone
Gorillaz used in feel good inc too
After listening to MMMM for 3 months now, I'm starting to think it may be the most underrated album ever
honestly
w wait
One of the greatest non-serious bands ever. If only they'd taken it seriously, we could have had so many more gems from these geniuses.
i like how you can only see zubins face when he's not singing
i recorded a single at this goddamn studio
I wish I was able to see these guys live.
Same mr. lancer

joe really rap like a english chap
I'm saddened that i just discovered these guys.
He pulled out a megaphone 💀
This song is absolutely amazing.
Interesting to hear the raw audio without the editing in the final
Sounds nice
It’s funny, as I think this was the first tally hall vid I ever saw, and all I though was, huh these are some funky tie dudes. Hmmh. Now everything is tally hall
I never thought I'd see the day that a tally hall live performance has over 300 comments
FYI this studio is called The Pop Machine, it is located in Indianapolis, Indiana and was founded sometime around 2002. This video was probably recorded around 2008/2009. I actually had the chance of recording a single at this studio.
we want you back tally hall ✊😔
this video is like finding gold for tally hall fans since almost all tally hall content doesn't have anything even close to this good of quality, unfortunate that the camera barely showed zubin though
Sometimes i wonder if the old band members come and listen to these old songs of theirs.

Such a shame Zubin isn't in frame when he's singing his first few solo lines :((

It has the same vibes as "Doing Alright". The Ballad-fast rock-ballad song pattern, the choir, it's almost like they're tributing to Queen
well queen is indeed a big inspiration in their music
one of the members, joe, even made a song called bahamian rap city
lord. his voice makes me feel emotions i can’t comprehend it’s so frustrating
I just got into their music but I still miss them
why does 13: ross edition go so hard
