    nice comparison, as always! my longest DoT on my s23 base model was 14.31 hour's. it was running in light mode with brightness @50%, wifi and mosly watched YT @1080p. but also in the open wild i'm coming home after a 12 hour's day with good 50-60% battery left which brings me easily through the night. the 30 min up to 1 hour recharging time is absolutely ok for me next morning. all in all, Samsung did a pretty good job with the s23 lineup!!

      for headphones you can use an usb c adapter but yes, to cut out the sd card expansion slot is a big letdown. having an infrared connection like in the old days would be nice too. sometimes the evolution goes backwards. but after 7 months using the s23 it's still my favorite phone of all I've ever had to this point.

    • @ThunderTiger0801
      @ThunderTiger0801 6 месяцев назад

      Have you tested how many percent your phone loses over night when just connected to the WiFi, with a sim card and without energy saving mode or background sync active BUT in Light Power mode?
      I feel like mine is loosing a bit too much with around 5% over ~8h

    • @steffenlze0178
      @steffenlze0178 6 месяцев назад

      i think 5% over 8h at night is a very good result. 6-10% is the normal value with message tone and vibration activated. with Always on Display it's a bit more. depends on how many apps are sending messages over night in background and how many apps are in standby and deep sleep. you can easily monitor those activities and bring the bad boys to sleep. but i think everything is ok with 5% on a Galaxy phone.

    • @ThunderTiger0801
      @ThunderTiger0801 6 месяцев назад

      well the only messaging apps that should be working a little in the background could be whats app and the standard messenger. All the others like telegram, IG, FB, or twitter arent allowed to send notifications and otherwise my phone pretty much is on silent mode all the time. Background sync with google is also off
      When my phone was brand new (now 4 weeks) I was getting like 8 percent per day on standby with WiFi connected but without a sim card.
      but thanks for getting back to me

    Solid performances all round on battery life, and much as expected as the other test I saw had the Nothing 2 doing really well. Its 1080p/5000mAh means it can get a head up over flagships that have battery draining higher resolutions. The general rule is QHD costs 12% more battery than FHD+, and iPhone Retina costs 6% extra versus FHD+.
    As for charging, Apple and Google have a different philosophy where they reduce battery wattage as they fill. This is scientifically proven to reduce battery cycle loss. Samsung uses a battery reservoir so there remains unused mAh to act as a buffer, much like in SSDs. Chinese OEMs are 2-3 years ahead with their own proprietary (patented) charging, dual batteries, and battery self-healing tech meaning they can fast charge without worrying as much about battery health loss.
    Not sure that Samsung, Apple and co can go faster than the standard PD charging speeds as they are unable to copy Chinese charging tech without paying a license, and I doubt any would openly do that. Split batteries may be a thing of the past with the new EU laws forcing OEMs to allow user replaceable batteries. It would be too problematic. This may also mean fast charging will be reduced due to this new law (2027) as it means that OEMs have to allow third parties to make replaceable batteries.

    I recall keeping a battery at 100% charge for long will degrade it, and I think that might partially explain why the older models performed that bad. The Nothing Phone 1 was one year old already and chances are they recharged it and drained it for testing in 2022, then kept it in a cupboard charged at 100% for a while.

In all the exynos i have used. All of them. Maybe first few ones were better in S3 and S4. After that same story. In these testing they're constantly using it. There is no issue with it in exynos. But try to keep it with u for a whole day in standby and your battery will drain just like u would use it. It's same.

      But what did you do in that hour??? I bought a S23U in May. Im not playing any game. I only use YT and Social apps like FB, Messenger,... and I have 30% left after 8hs SOT at the time Im writing this cmt.

      @@cactusbite8269Btw, I copied data from my S22U to my new S23U and its battery still good for me.

      @@dungluu3582i did factory reset and backup the phone. Now it is better and I get 6 - 6,5 hr SOT. 100-0%. That's about it. And it is not enough for me. I bought new phone cause my old Huawei p30 had bad battery. My new phone have it the same as my old phone. I is just average. There is no excuse at 2023 for a flagship. 2019 midranger was better.

    Battery screen on time are ideally same across all of those phones larger phones require larger battery due to larger screen space.
    S23 having a small screen 3900 is optimal due to it's overall size think about it the MaH is only larger so you can enjoy the same amount of screen on time on large screen as the smaller one this is relevant across samsung flagships.

    Hello. First of all, I want to thank you for the review. Please help. At the moment I have 1+3t and I want to change to a new one. My brother has an iPhone 13 and is going to sell it. With my budget, I'm hesitating between the Samsung S23, the iPhone 13 or the Pixel 7 Pro (or wait for the 8). As a person who has used these smartphones, which one would you recommend? And yes, I live in Ukraine

      It's in Adaptive refresh rate lil bro, means 120, look at the iPhone 14 pro max, it's automatically in Adaptive means also 120 but in allien fps test it's says 60, beacause allien fps test doesn't support adaptive refresh rate, at least now you know
