- 10.11.24 - Two weeks after the storm first hit. Hurricane Hell-ene has certainly left her mark on these areas that I grew up in. We will never forget this, and many, many people are still struggling weeks after this unbelievably catastrophic weather event. Prayers to all those affected! 🙏🙏🙏

Thank you for sharing. As most Canadians can reflect but doubtful that most can understand the devastation, the loss of life and not just to humans and the tragic that is yet to come. I know this just from the experience from dealing with the aftermath of Katrina in 2005 and what I saw and still deal with today. Only wish I could be there to help , but I know that people like yourself will be there for anyone that needs help. God bless you all and my our prayers be with you all even though we are from Canada, no border should be in the way of help and prayers.
Great video. It's sobering to watch a dump truck drop its whole load, and recognize the scope of that load vs the work that remains.
Yep. Good to see the work being done, though. Part of the economy coming back.
@baTonkaTruck
Yes, it is. Thank you for watching.

Check out this channel if you like big trucks dropping rocks. Drone footage of the repairing of Hwy 421 from Bakers Construction Services.
Thank you for posting. I used to live right above that kayak put-in on Watauga River Rd. Surreal.

👍
I have traveled this road many times coming to see friends and family in WNC. Had plans to go hiking over in the Boone/Blowing Rock area and then the Helene hit. Thank you for posting. I was wondering how 321 was getting into Boone.
@@HamRadioTrainsThings
Thank you for watching. There are routes both east and west of 321 to get to Boone.
Good to see they are making progress.

Keepin' on keepin' on!
This is an encouraging video. So many show areas that look beyond hopeless.

Thank you. It's getting cleaned up and built back. #AppalachiaStrong
Listen to the birds.

I'll talk with my editor. 👍
:)
The music must stop to leave room for the birds, etc.
@@rickberry5740
There was really just a lot of wind sound while driving, but I'll take that into consideration for non-driving shots. Thanks.
Face in the rock
Loose the music
Just mute the video. I like the music!
@rickmunton2112
Too late, but thanks for your opinion.
We want during the storm videos, not aftermath
This is great for people local to the area to track progress on recovery. If you're seeking entertainment from this tragedy, I get it, but it's mad disrespectful to complain like that.
Please tell everyone to send more help
@thomasmint1761
Working on it. There's more vids on my channel of the flooding in Downtown Boone and out in Vilas at my Mom's house. Check them out.
