These links are beautiful and useful, the perfect combination! This new year has had a rough start for many (Covid infection in my case but I'm OK). Let's work towards improvement through positive thinking and creation of beautiful things that give us a much needed respite from our worries both large and small.
Oh this is so lovely 🥰 and I totally agree. Being creative and making beautiful things with our hands is SO good for us and our mental wellbeing, isn’t it? I also had a covid infection a couple of months ago, and it was pretty awful, so I hope you’re doing well in your recovery. Thank you so much for your lovely comments 🥰
I’m glad that both of you are ok after your bouts with Covid. I agree that creating beautiful things, both large and small, is so beneficial to our health.
I am loving your approach to wire wrapping tutorials. I have only been wire wrapping for 5 months and I learned it all here on RUclips. I NEED to have directions given that are nice and detailed at a slow space with good visuals to allow me to learn the techniques. Just like you are doing! I do see some of the same techniques over and over with a different spin or two from a few artists. I’ll get there but this style of teaching is so needed as we all aren’t advanced wire artists. I can take these core basics that you are showing us and easily learn them, then, I can put my own spin on them as I get better. I follow about seven wire wrapping artists but find I always go back to the one who is very detailed like you. I am happy to have found you! I can really learn from you I feel sure. I truly appreciate artists like you who take the time to teach, film edit etc for the rest of us. Speaking for myself, I have been so lifted up with this new journey of wire wrapping so just know that you are giving the world a gift❤
Thank you SO much for your very kind words. It’s very sweet of you. There are some extremely talented and experienced individuals here on RUclips, aren’t there? And they are excellent at their craft. Whilst I don’t ever aspire to be as talented or as good as them, I did feel, as I was learning myself, that a slow and deliberate approach to demonstrating core techniques would be beneficial. So I’m so happy you found the video beneficial for you ❤️ I really just video and edit etc., as a hobby as it gives me focus and allows me to relax (I have Neurodiverse kids) but I’m discovering that it’s a beautiful thing to connect with like minds here on RUclips. Happy wrapping! I’m sure you will gain peace and relaxation from it as much as I do ❣️
@@samanthalatimer1 I do! I’m an artistic person who likes to learn all kinds of things. I started in August just for fun. I am retired and 4 years ago we moved to the mountains of North Carolina. I’m always trying to learn something and artistic endeavors are such a great peaceful thing to do as well as challenge your tenacity to push through difficult things! I was fortunate enough to have sold over $300 dollars worth of wrapped pendant necklaces at Christmas, which got me thinking. I need to pay for my supplies so I am setting up my Etsy store to get it out there and possibly sell enough to do that as I want to continue to do this. I did learn metal smithing but found it to tedious and costly. This is in the wheel house and way more fun. I’m young at heart but just turned 69😍old dogs can and do learn new tricks if the tricks are easy enough to follow that’s where you come in!
@@15Montrano I love this! Old dogs definitely CAN learn new tricks!! And wow! Selling your work is amazing 🤩 I have an Etsy store, but had to suspend it when my daughter became quite ill, but as she is improving now, I may open it back up. You’re quite right that we need to pay for our supplies somehow! 🤩 Please do let me know how you progress… I’d love to know 😍
Thank you for making these thorough, well made videos that are easy for a beginner to follow. With your help I'm working on perfecting the wire wrapped loop😊
You just "almost" completely removed the fear I had of making chain links! I so love your teaching style and your gentle approach. These links are awesome and have so much potential. Thank you so much for making your videos. You have a new subscriber and fan!
I have been prepacking for an upcoming move. I have zero idea where my heavier wire is packed, I may have to order more. I have a show later this month and it always triggers interest when customers can watch an artist create wearable art. I could make the eternity links for all 3.5 days but I would have to pull out some shiny beads - why not? I like to use eternity as part of a lobster claw clasp - usually as part of a focal. Thanks to Samantha I now know the best technique to create my own. I very much appreciate both your willingness to share and your comfortable teaching style. Lectures do not work well for me. I am more receptive in a more relaxed situation. New Subscriber.

I love these links that you have made. Would it be too much to ask if you could have a separate video category for links. I only ask because I had a hard time finding this. I’m a beginner and it would be nice to find tutorials easily. I’m also 75. 😊
That’s no problem at all. I will add a new category for links in addition to beginners videos, so that you can access them more easily. Thank you so much for your support ☺️
Do you mean the small “8” links? They are surprisingly sturdy, but if your unsure, you can fine each link a little tap with a nylon hammer to strengthen the wire a little more 🙂
I love your tutorial on making links. I've bought some copper, but unsure of how to keep it from tarnishing. Do you have any advice on what I can use especially with ear wires. I don't want it to cause any irritations. My young cousins are wanting some copper earrings. Thanks. I also hope you had a wonderful Christmas and a Gappy New Year. Ours was pretty quiet as well. Pretty much stayed home except for New Years Day. Had to go out for a few groceries and junk food for the hubby. I don't care for junk food myself, plus being diabetic it's just not a good idea.
Thank you so much, Jeanetta 🥰 I’m glad you had a peaceful Christmas and New Year. There’s a few things you can do regarding tarnishing etc. The first, and easiest, is to make your ear wires (or alternatively, buy them) from sterling silver wire and have the mixed metal look. I love mixing metals and it prevents any issues with irritation (unless sensitive to silver, of course). This I what I’d do, in the first instance. For the main piece with earrings, and with chains, bracelets and pendants etc., you can seal copper with specific waxes or spray sealants, which do go along way in tarnish prevention. Beeswax, Renaissance Wax etc., are a good place to start. Hope you continue to have a very peaceful New Year. Thank you, as always, for your support 🥰
@samanthalatimer1 thank you so much for your advice and I agree about the mixed metals. I'm definitely going to do them that way. Again, thanks so much.
@@samanthalatimer1 I've been wondering about this too. I have some renaissance wax, but wasn't sure if it would be safe to use on the ear wires themselves. I have a tiny amount of sterling silver to use for ear wires, which I'll move on to once I'm confident with copper (it's so expensive!!). Thanks for the tutorial, and happy New Year :)
I wouldn’t use it on the wires, myself. I do use silver and gold plated copper wire for ear wires for myself, as I know I can tolerate that, but for the pieces I sell, I use either niobium or sterling silver 🥰 But certainly, it’s fine for the main body of jewellery pieces if they’re not used within the ear. Happy New Year 🥳 and I hope it’s a creative and peaceful one for you 🥰
Thank you 🙏 I bought these particular beads from an Etsy seller. I don’t think she has any more but if you allow a little time I will find the link to her store so you can have a look yourself 🥰
I would love to know if you just polish your tarnished finish pieces (solid copper wire) or do you treat it? If you treat it (dip it) what do you recommend? Thank you
I do a few different things, really. If I’m selling or gifting, I treat with a wax treatment such as renaissance wax, and buff over a couple of times. It keeps the tarnish to a minimum. I’d apply the wax and buff off, and then do that two or three times. For my own pieces, I love the colour of raw copper and I tend to just clean it before I wear it (I’m lucky I don’t go green lol) and to clean it, I simply use ketchup. Sometimes, I will use liver of sulphur to add a patina and then buff with renaissance wax. Hope that helps 🥰
It’s best to seal your jewellery as soon as you’ve made it, by using a protective layer of a wax like Renaissance Wax. You add layers and buff it off… which leaves a protective film over the top of your jewellery. There’s a lot of videos on how to do this here on RUclips. Try looking at Lily Tree or Back To Earth Creations. Or I think Studio 44 has some good videos on this kind of thing ☺️
Not sure if you’re suggesting that I copy 4Girls? She has amazing pieces that are totally unique, doesn’t she, so I couldn’t copy if I tried ☺️ These links demonstrated by me are very generic, and not uncommon. This is just my take on them 🙂 There are many artists out there who demonstrate very similar techniques, and 4Girls style is definitely something I could never copy… as I’m not that talented ☺️ Thanks for your comment.

Happy New Year 🥳 and I hope it’s a creative and peaceful one for you 🥰
You’re so very welcome, Jeanetta ☺️
Samantha where do you purchase the beads that fit on that gauge of wire? It is a most beautiful chain, thank you! ❤️
Thank you 🙏 I bought these particular beads from an Etsy seller. I don’t think she has any more but if you allow a little time I will find the link to her store so you can have a look yourself 🥰
L❤OVE THIS VIDEO, THANK YOU!

LOVELY!
Thanks for sharing! 💐😊
You are so welcome 🤗
Merci!
vous êtes les bienvenus ☺️
Superbe toate!🤩❤

I did ☺️ I’ll me making a tutorial for it soon 😍
Oh awesome! Can't wait!
What gage wire are you are using😊
It’s 18g wire ☺️
SUPER 👍👍👍👍👍
Thank you 👍
How do you clean these jewelry when oxidised? I tried baking soda on my gold plated piece and it turned black 😞
Am I doing something wrong? I’m trying to watch the video with the larger round chain links like that ones in the thumbnail photo.
No fear. Go to the 11:00 minute mark in the second half of the video.

Thank you 🙏
Please create a playlist of closures! Your designs are lovely!
Great idea! I’ll add it to my list 😍
Oops! Found them! I was too impatient. Lol
😂😂 Glad you found them
How dainty
Looks like you've seen 4girlsjewelry, she has amazing original ideas.
