A note (Dont buy the junk from china or Taiwan)
This guy goes ahead a lot, but I like it. Nice work
Simple and easy fix. Make sure the area where the gasket is in contact with the body gets cleaned well before the new gasket is installed. Much appreciated guideline
Excellent job of presenting the set by step directions. I had seen another video where the individual removed the screws without removing the shell and he had the spring working against him. It didn’t look right but you made it look easy and it really saved me some aggravation. Thanks!
Thanks for the info! Just find out a couple of weeks that this job was needed on my E500 and this video provides all the details for a successful replacement!
Wow. This is the thing I'm going to do tomorrow. I ordered the parts weeks ago. You save me. Really thanks.
Worked like a charm.. Future reference. Use the long screw driver to open up your existing hose on new gasket..screws will love you! Nice vide both sides done in 35 mins
Great video. I just did this on mine. One tip I can give for people: Instead of cutting the hole on new gaskets to get the wire harnesses through, you can use needle nose pliers and open them inside the hole to expand it and slide the wire harnesses through. It's easy if you can set the pliers open on something to keep outward pressure or have an assistant.
Maybe even add some heat with hairdyer? (Not too much ofcourse)
GREAT TIP !!!
:Not really i did that a if you not careful you will rip it like i did woth needle nose
Thank You!!!! My replacement job when amazingly well thanks to your attention to detail
Excellent video! What a difference a camera on a tripod makes. Nice calm pace helps also. Well done!
Very informative and clear. Thank you and i wish all instruction videos are like it.
Not one to normally work on cars but this video made it easy to execute confidently. 👍
Awesome video. 2 things I will note. On my 2006 E55, I had 5 point TS20 security torx screws. Had to order the bits from Amazon. Also instead of electrical tape, I used a hot glue gun to seal around the wires.
Same here. Can’t BELIEVE how hard it was to find the TS20 at a local hardware or. Auto parts store!
Thx for mentioning I was looking also for this answer. I couldn’t remove the screws in all ways. I’ll order that ts20 for sure.
excellent video! thanks for posting. This is an annoying issue I've had for years and I am finally going to fix it.
FYI -on the driver side turn the mirror inwards all the way prior to attempting to remove the mirror cover(mirror bblocks the removal otherwise)
Thank You very much for your video. Helped a great deal.
Excellent video. Saved me big $. Thanks
Bought both of mine for less than $18 bucks! Thanks for the tutorial. Well done sir! Also, new subscriber here. As an owner of now a W211, a W140 and a C140, I look forward to future videos! Keep up the good work!
Where did you purchase the gaskets. From his links? If so, dammm, inflation 😂
@@Aresv_ …aliexpress ALL DAY SON! I just looked em up for you just now…$10 BUCKS! Go buy that shht homey!!
Thank you so much for this one
Excellent video. thank you.
Thank you for this video. Other than my Homeresque hunt for a TS20 bit, the work went off without a hitch thanks to your instruction. My 06 E55 AMG thanks you!!
Good video. Very informative!! Would be nice to know how to fix folding problems!!
Just what I need to do thanks !
Thanks for posting
VERY EDUCATIVE. tHANK YOU REGARDS
Good stuff! Thank you!
VERY GOOD PRESENTATION. CAN YOU DO THE PANORAMIC SUNROOF CABLE REPLACEMENT?
What size Allen key do you need to remove the mirror. Excellent video
I'm trying to take the shell off a loose 2004 E320 mirror. There seems to be part of the internal casting that blocks access to the spring clip. There's no way a flat screwdriver can get it to move down and become unclipped because the force of the spring that's pushing the clip back in position is so strong you can't get it to stay unclipped.
How you put the spring back in you took it off
Thank you Thank you Thank you Thank you Thank you Thank you Thank you Thank you ! Subscribed!
Good exelent
I have a 98 E320 and need to replace both gaskets as well as adjust the spring on the passenger side. Do you have any recommendations?
On the w211 up tp 2006 (I have a 2006 E320 CDI) there are several different types of anti theft screws in use. On mine, even though I have the torx with the center hole I was quickly disappointed because Mercedes was apparently using 5 star torx screws. But they are available on ebay and Amazon...its just buying ANOTHER doohicky that you will rarely use again afterwards,
Great video! I have a 2006 with anti-tamper screws. Do you know what size Torx bit I need?
You need 5 point TS20 security torx bit. Never knew that 5 point torx existed until I this job.
Thank you for the link. I got my replacement gaskets and I will be installing them tomorrow. Do you have a link to buy the driver's side mirror? It is faded now and I can't find the right one. 2004 E320 heathed and diming.
check junkyards I got the whole unit for $50, mirror and housing
Which tool did you use to remove the screws ? I’m not able to find it.
ggod job
Hi ,great video ,,,, I need to know how I can replace my cracked led on my wing mirror ,I have an e211 o4 plate. Have you got any advice ,thanks mark
I am in the same boat. Once you take off your cover, it is fixed inside the cover which you could replace easily by getting one from ebay.
@@hasnainali7368 thankyou for your reply
You make it look easy not that easy man
Mine has the little anti tamper thing in the middle and i cant find the proper bit for it
Vladimir Sergoyan try to find what looks like the right size and drill a hole in the middle of the bit
EXCELLENT~~~!!!
My mirror won't go back even with 30-40 pound pressure, it seems like that's not how it's supposed to bend.
No didn't help i can't do that move at 0:44 because is very hard and I don't want to break it. Please help
Bs bro that spring is not easy like that i know from experiance
