2015년 첫 번째 미니앨범 ‘Beautiful Liar’에서 이미 전곡을 프로듀싱 하며 아티스트로서의 입지를 굳혔던 VIXX LR은 이번 앨범에서도 역시 전곡 작사, 작곡, 프로듀싱을 통해 아티스트로서 한 단계 성장한 모습을 보여주고 있다.
VIXX LR은 이번 두번째 미니앨범은 ‘냉정과 열정 사이’라는 감정에 대한 이미지 컨셉을 주제로 표현하고자 하였다. 과거 ‘Beautiful Liar’에서는 하나의 인격체가 가지고 있는 두 가지 상반된 감정에 대해서 표현하였다면, 이번 앨범에서는 레오, 라비 두 명의 인격체가 상황에 따라 각자의 감정을 상반되게 때로는 동일하게 느끼고 표현하며 변해가는 모습을 감각적으로 표현하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 레드와 블루, 냉정과 열정 등의 키워드를 도입하여 VIXX LR만의 아티스트적인 아이덴티티를 이어가고자 하였다.
타이틀곡 ‘Whisper’는 라비가 직접 작사 작곡한 곡으로, VIXX LR로서의 레오, 라비의 매력을 극대화 할 수 있도록 직접 프로듀싱한 세련된 힙합 곡이다. 섬세하면서도 차가운 레오의 보컬과 파워풀하면서도 그루비한 라비의 랩은 마치 ‘냉정과 열정 사이’라는 감정을 음악으로 표현해 낸 듯한 아름다운 느낌을 준다.

the attention to detail in the lighting is phenomenal. the string and the headphones are symbolism, but the lighting tells its own story. the soft natural lighting, the soft blues and reds, and the dark blues and reds add another layer of symbolism to this mv that really sets it apart.

*My take on this concept:* from what I heard *blue=calmness, red= passion* and that this concept is youthful :) The main concept behind LR is*Left & Right* 2 sides of the same character. I think those 2 *personas* are within the *brain* of an artist painter/musician/writer that *contains both of them* and gets inspiration from them. We saw him battling himself in BL because he broke up with his girlfriend NOW he's celebrating his life & the whole notion of *loving yourself* instead of living with a broken heart

and compared to the real people behind VIXX LR. Leo =Shy, gets really fast sad, the cute one, near to be autistic, is damnly sweet and Sexy Ravi: The funny but angry looking hot guy, being a bad boy, says what comes to his mind, is a wild person. This is like if someone had this concept in the hands and was like: "OK I don't know who to give that concept *sees VIXX* OK, Ravi, Leo I have something for you"
What about the Castor and Pollux reference? The constellations were represented.
Castor and Pollux are considered heavenly twins, and Castor is actually made up of 6 stars (VIXX), and it's a constellation and fans are Starlights.. I should stop.
Mellow B. in semi-hiatus I'm not a starlight but I support all these boys truly and honestly and can I just say these theories are mind blowing. It's like I can never escape theories as one can go so perfectly with the concept and you'd be like yes it's probably that until a few hours later a new one comes along that also goes seemingly well with it. Prior my approach to music was every few year go through a hunt of new stuff. I find if you stay up-to-date to following monthly charts it kind of causes a lot of garbage music on your playlists, due to desperation of having new tunes. Same when you run out of a Netflix que, and you are still in binge mode and you find yourself watching Tiger King.... So I much prefer being a few years late to gems like this, and I really like Bomb and the one with the absolutely beautiful (both voice and beauty) ladies something about a tiger? I'm terrible with titles always have been. I'm gen where CD influence ruined me. Instead of learning a title it is put song # X on. sorry, artists:*( I have an awful memory for Titles have read full books can basically quote parts of the story, but titles, nope.

OKAY GUYS I just noticed this in the MV. You know how inkheart was incorporated into the MV right? When Leo was reading the book with the red and blue string people Ravi saw it in real life in the next frame. This links to the plot of inkheart, as in inkheart (a book) there is a reader who reads characters alive, and in the MVs sense, Leo is reading Ravi to life.

VIXX is one of the most talented groups out there but they are not getting the recognition they deserve. It's sad that they are kinda underrated. They always serve A+ music and performances and they are not afraid of taking risks by trying new stuffs which is really admirable and they are not hopping on the trendy kind of music. But anyways, this song is incredibly genius, the melody and the lyrics also Ravi's rap really meshed well with Leo's amazing vocal. This is so good :)
