Don't forget vegetables incorporated into your meals stretch the budget. Hubby and I love veges. Try zuccini pizza, open grilled tuna sandwiches, panini's in the skillet.
Food prices have skyrocketed, yet so far, I have not needed to make changes. We have 5 acres with a manufactured home, never wanted a large home, and have kept life simple.

I love seeing all the generic food as I struggle when some don't even look at that as option. One thing I have learned while watching people budget and try and stretch budgets is to start building a stock pile so that when money is tight you don't have to go to the store for much. Another thing/things is buying half a cow or hog and having a garden to make our own items. I can and freeze vegetables. I hope this helps.

I've been a SAHM for the last 11 years and now I have had to take a part time job because of the inflation. It's heartbreaking for me because deep down, being home with my babies is what makes my soul happy. I completely understand every single thing you said. It's nice to not feel so alone in this. I appreciate your videos both for the ideas, but also for the relatable content.

I've been staying home with my boys for the past two years and the decision to stay home was not one that made much sense on paper. But I knew the desire in my heart and I knew that God had finally given me the peace I had prayed for since before having kids. Since taking that leap of faith (which cut our income in half, plus some) God has proven faithful again and He has helped us thrive. Even through unexpected hospital bills for my husband, health scares, and now expecting our third baby, God has provided. I hope this can give someone encouragement to know that if you do as God leads, He will always provide for our needs. We just have to be realistic about what those needs are. Sometimes things become very plain and basic without the extras and thrills. But the joy He gives is above all of that!

I feel you. Even our "cheap" grocery stores, aren't that anymore. I try to buy whats on sale at Sams/Costco and fill in with Trader Joes & whatever is on sale at the regular grocery stores. Between that, preschool, diapers, sports, clothes, etc.... its not easy right now. What I do is buy in bulk as much as possible & alternate my budget weeks. So for ex....Weeks 1 & 3 are bulk buy weeks and will cost more, but it'll last us 10-14 days. Then weeks 2 & 4 are just filler weeks & will be less than $100ish. Solidarity to everyone!

Thankyou for the money rant lol. I’ve felt the same way . Just a HEAVY stress over money. And it feels like nobody else feels the same way because nobody wants to admit that they struggle financially. It just seems like we constantly barely have our heads above water .. and it’s exhausting to put it bluntly. We have a $200 grocery budget as well.

We’re right there with you. I’m a SAHM and it’s been very difficult to keep my grocery budget steady. The inflation has been horrible in so many ways. Our dollar just doesn’t go nearly as far for feeding our families as it used to and it angers me every single time I buy food. We hardly even get snack foods or anything extra at all and it’s still hard to keep up with.

Along with you, so many of us are juggling it all + still trying to save 💵 (as you've always suggested 😉) but not buying & storing enough food for 10 years. It's been so encouraging to me (especially thru the pandemic) to watch you buy what you'll need each week or two. My first job is part time, three days a week being a Nanny. Not sure what they do in other states but in Ohio they pay for Plasma donation. I feel great when I give to sooooo many people that need plasma and get rewarded in the process! It's a win win! Only two times in a seven day period and the extra money always helps when an emergency arises. Just putting this side hustle idea out there for those that need to know.

I hear you on the money worries! I’m a single mom of 3 and this year has been a struggle! Back to school with teens and a kindergartner was not cheap, and now I’m trying to make it through August with using a credit card for necessities. I got groceries for the week (thank goodness we had meat in the freezer) at Walmart and Costco and spent almost $70 on 15 items. 😬😬

Yes, it’s bad right now with the economy! The last time it was this bad was in 2007. I was in college but two years later, it still affected me trying to find a job. The prices on things is very high! My grocery budget had to go up even more and having one of our kids a pre teen, he’s eating even more lol. Take care! I’m sure everyone is feeling it. you’re not alone

I just tried the Folger's Gourmet Supreme coffee and I really like it! I usually get the cheap coffee beans from the bulk stand and grind them myself but I was feeling lazy and the Folgers was only $10 for the big can so it was cheaper anyway.

Is there a Costco or Sam's near you you might want to check it out and see where you save on certain bulk items. I know with me I bounce between Costco and Walmart and food Lion to save as much as I can every dollar helps.

We were drinking medium roast Caribou but recently tried, I think it’s Black Rifle Just Black. It’s really good. Kind of a deep flavor.

Food costs everywhere in the world has gone up. We are from Australia and we’re noticing it creeping up about a year ago. Now we live in Canada and the cost of basic/staple pantry items is just astronomical! We feel your pain, Abby!

The economy is so bad right now. I got let go from my job in March due to budget cuts. Blessing in disguise because now I get to stay at home with my baby. Luckily we are still able to get by on my husband’s salary and we’ve just cut back majority on spending. I pretty much exclusively shop at Aldi and Walmart occasionally. But even Walmart’s prices are much higher than they used to be.

Hi. I just found your channel. I’m sorry to hear that groceries are still higher where you are. I just noticed a week or so ago that prices are finally going down where I live. I keep hearing that inflation is leveling off but this is the first I’ve seen it at the store. Staying home with kids can be hard financially but once you factor in the childcare and the other costs of working it may not be worth it. That’s how it was for me. I was spending so much on daycare, after school care, work clothes, commuting it was crazy. I hope you find what works for you and your family.

Wow. I recently quit my job of 6 1/2 years and it was a state job. None of the jobs I’ve applied for even come close to what I was making there. I’ve started considering independent jobs as well, but I’m concerned about the inconsistency of it.

I feel you on this economy. They recently compared no, to the Great Depression… and our economy is worse now, than it was then. It’s exhausting and so discouraging.
