@@Mathew1985mathew The car is much quicker now after the BTR dyno tune! Plus in this video I still had the stock air-box with original mufflers and 2" piping. Can't wait till the TCU tune is finalized by BTR! As for the brake hold, I don't like using it much cause of our weak trans.
Got a chance to test the Dragy for couple of runs, before getting a warning ticket 🤐. These times reflect to what I've done so far to my car and are very similar to what Car & Driver had gotten back in 2015 on a 3.8 V6 RWD. I still haven't installed the rear section of the exhaust (new mufflers w/2.25" tubing) and the AEM Cold Air Intake is backordered. Will be uploading another video when all is complete. Thanks for watching!
Hey does your car shift at like 500 rpms ? I just got a genesis and it looks like mine is the only one that shifts around 200-300 rpms. I can’t find any other genesis that shifts like mine. It’s 2011 3.8
Yeah mine is the RWD (just like the one they tested), which might be a couple miles quicker then the AWD. My trapp speed was around 96.5 - 98mph on the dragy. Magazines use a corrected time, after calculating altitude, sea level, etc.
1:24 I was looking at the specifications how is the 0-60 5.9 seconds , but the rolling start from 5-60 is 6.6 seconds . Seem inaccurate for both times. For this cars the rolling start should always be better then from a dig
The 0-60 times all magazines advertise is a 1-foot rolling start (look it up) and my car matched C&Ds time 0-60 @ 5.9sec. See video @ 0:36 , at the bottom of that blue ticket, where it shows my 0-60 (1ft) 5.95sec. If you are rolling till 5mph to get to 60mph will take a little longer on a stock 300hp heavy car, the torque and throttle response is delayed when you punch it. Most stock cars are advertised a little slower 5-60mph.
Remy, how you did that test? With or without pushed brake?
Gas paddle punch to the floor no brake
@@beeswaxx3.8 shame, with pushed brake and full gas will be better time for shure

That was clearly a stop sign @ 1:05 lol

Yours is RWD? I am really questioning how they trapped 100mph on a stock Genesis😂 More like 94-95mph would be accurate.

@@beeswaxx3.8 Motortrend is usually most accurate with trap speeds. Also note they all get press cars.
@@DMCarReviews so did Motortrend test an AWD or RWD? Of course they all get press cars..
@@beeswaxx3.8 I think both! Issue is manufacturer cars are usually a little over tweaked, or the results are😊
@@DMCarReviews I'll have to check it out
When you got this car did you purchase extended warranty or no ?
Yes I got extended warranty at time of purchase. Full Bumper to Bumper till 100k.
Bees Waxx how much did that cost you ?
@@mikexcanxjerk After wheeling & dealing, under $1,500. They started at $2,700!
Bees Waxx you got it for 1500 ? That's a very good price , how was you able to negiotiate like that .
The financing person that also offers the warranties is also another salesman. Interest rates and warranties are negotiable.
Hey I know this is old I just got this car. Curios how is the tune going . I wanna get faster than 6 secs

Bees Waxx so your saying this car stock stock does 60 in 5.9 seconds ?
@@mikexcanxjerk According to C/D, yes!..but not everyone achieves those times on the street...usually slower
Bees Waxx Does it have to do with altitude ? Cause on average most ppl get about 6.4-6.5 seconds 0-60 .
@@mikexcanxjerk those .2 tenths I probably got from those couple little mods that I did.
