I have been to Milan several times (most recently in November) and have always enjoyed it. It doesn't deserve its poor reputation. The science museum and Castello Sforzesco are well worth visiting. But I will confess my favourite Italian city - not that far from Milan - is Turin.

I was disappointed when I first visited Milan back in 2008 but I went without a plan and without money. I returned two years ago and had a very different experience. Liked it so much I'm going again this July. This video is right on time! Grazie mille!

I’ve been in Milan 4 or 5 times and like it more each time. There’s a lot to do, from visiting museums like Brera or Ambrosiana (and many more) just stroll along the streets, the parks or the navigli, also went to a concert at La Scala. The last time, in 2022 I stayed outside the centre and had a place at Lotto-Fiera area and it was very nice, confortable and with a quite vibe, and also near a metro station, so I could easily move arond.

I accidentally wandered into the Brera museum (Pinacoteca di Brera) through its back door because I was ushered out of the Botanical Garden next door through its back alleyway exit. The Brera is a must go!!

We enjoyed our stay in Milan 6 years ago, we are excited to be coming again in 5 weeks. The Brera District is a lot of fun to stay in and walk around. A great part of staying in Milan is day trips to Lake Maggiore, Lake Como and Torino! The food in Milan is outstanding, especially if you do your research ahead of time. You prouce very entertaining content, saluti!

I think Milan is a beautiful city, has lot of amazing architecture and is really vibrant. It wouldn't be my first choice, but I appreciated. But we know, even Turin is still considered not so beautiful from many people 😅

I really enjoyed your video. I would like to make just one correction: flamingos are not exotic animals in Italy. In fact, they are normally present in many marshy areas throughout Italy in the period from May to September, after which they return to winter in Africa.

My wife and I were just in Milan about a month ago. We flew into there from the US and stayed there for two days on both ends of our Bologna trip.
We stayed in a lovely hotel just across from Castello Sforzesco and while the city seemed okay, it was definitely raining a lot, so we didn't explore that much. Thankfully we did have one sunny afternoon where packed in seeing the Castle, the Galleria, and the Duomo.
Definitely liked the vibe of Bologna MUCH more, but then we were there for about 10 days and the weather was mostly better and we relaxed a lot more.
I don't want to write off Milan, yet, though. I think we would've liked it more had we had more time to explore things. And I hope to go back someday.

I have been studying in Milan for a bit. I can say that Milan, compared to many Italian cities is much more fast paced, and, unfortunately as a tourist you tend to "pick the pace" of the other people that ,generally, have other things to do rather than sightseeing, this fact hurts the experience that people have of the city because you don't have really the time to enjoy the spaces and buildings.
I would say that also discovered quite recently to be a "touristic city", before the Milan Expo in 2015 it was quite hard to find someone considering Milan as a Holiday destionation , but since than also the citizends became more conscious of its beauty and, seeing from the comments the change has been quite visible.
As we are heading deeper in summer, I wish there was some more attention for how are managed temperatures and warm/shade spaces as Milan gets hot very quickly.

Milan is the best city in Italy for all sort of events and activities (concerts, musicals, theatre, expositions, fashion) and for business. It is not boring at all, quite the opposite. Sure, it does not have the historical heritage of Venice or Rome or Florence, but you can spend there a couple of days to visit the city centre and with a day trip to the Como Lake (1h by train).

you have some niice buildings in Milan no question about it and good job to show some other angle to it.
But the points you are trying to make is wrong. "Features of milan" as you said is valid if you live in MIlan. It is a different discussion to make "is milan a great city to live?" Or milan as "a great tourist destination". First can be true, second not so much. There are much nicer cities in Italy and in europe to "visit" for a few days or a week. And that is the reason it gets much hate, not because it has no advantages. i.e. living there rather than visiting.

@@avonlavegood for you. Question if you have 4 days of time is it better to visit milan or firenze or venice let’s say. Milan isn’t the worst place on planet but again. There are way much nicer places to see if you wanna spend your time and money.
As a location milan is great. Close to great sites but I wouldn’t stay in milan for that. Close to como? Then go to Como instead of taking a day trip there which isn’t enough. Living in milan is another story because you can do a lot of stuff around while living there.

    • @horaciomillan4181

Milano is not picturesque in the way Florence or even Rome, it’s more a living great city instead of a museum one. That’s why many people that travels very little, or americans that rarely go outside their country could feel disappointed: it’s a vibrant modern place, you have to investigate and look for the best. Not an obvious turistiy city.

    • @Nomad_783
      @Nomad_783 2 месяца назад

@@horaciomillan4181agreed. The sforza castle is the main attraction to me personally. Great museum and even has Michelangelo pieces. But yeah you have to dig that to see.
To me milan is only bad because it’s too much focus on the fashion aspect rather than the e historical and artistic values.
