Man I have tried to setup a similar formula for conditional weighted average for days, and you put me on the right track in 10 minutes. Great work, liked and subbed immediately.

You are GREAT, i love you videos.
However, the average price is still wrong ......that's because you consider only all buy quantity and you don't consider sell quantity.
In fact, at the end, the correct average price of google shares is 1717.77.
In this example the difference is tiny, but with multiple buy and sell operation or with big quantity of shares, the average buy price is COMPLETELY different.....
And you will sell or buy new shares with a wrong idea of profit or loss.
Plus, FIFO method is also a good way to consider the average price.
It would be awsome if you can make a video considering these two aspects. I tried hard to find out a solution but i am not so smart as you :(
    PLEASE HELP ME...
Thankyou for your great and wonderful work.
I really appreciate all your videos. You teached me a lot of things!!!!!
    Cris

Please help me.....i am not able to find a formula to find the real average price of shares i have.... in your video for example, we have 6 google shares at 1.700$, then we sell 2 shares, so we have 4 shares at 1.700$, then we buy 5 shares at 1.732$. So we have 9 shares totally, and the avg price is ((4*1700)+(5*1732))/9 =1717,77.
Which formula i can use to automate this process? if i bought and sold 1.000 times google how i could find the average price of google's shares i have.
This thing is driving me crazy!!!!!
Only you could find a solution!!!

Hi Sir - thanks for the very informative doc - can you explain why i'm getting the following error when I try to do what you do at the 15:15 mark - "AVERAGE.WEIGHTED has mismatched range sizes. Expected row count: 2. column count: 1. Actual row count: 1, column count: 1." - it seems when I add a -1 to the last statement, the filter spits out only one number

Is it also important that you calculate also the costs to buy the stock? This formula does not do this.

Wow, that was excellent, my only gripe is that you ignore transaction costs which are important. It would be great to incorporate the costs into the average share price so you know where you need the share price to be to break even.

hey this is awesome! real quick question if you want to add transactions does that mean you need to update the filter ranger every time? does anyone know a way around this?

Thanks for the video! Its really helpful, however for the average price, how could I eliminate the realized gain/loss (i.e. only the cost of the current shares holding)?
