I love Bull's conviction in front of goal. He knew he was going to score.

Flew there and back. Probably the best day ever watching football.

I’m a Villa fan but love Steve Bull. I watched a lot of Wolves games when ITV central were showing matches in the 90s.

I was admitted to hospital that day and had brain surgery the following day. My Dad brought in a newspaper on 02.01.90 and read to me about Steve's achievement.

Bull status is cemented in Wolves folklore...but Mark Kendall was a legend too. God bless him.

Mark Kendall was the first goalie that I saw at Spurs. God Rest his Soul

@@Chief_Brody Mark Kendall was a great bloke. He lived in Telford at the time he played for Wolves and would stop and have a chat and a bit of banter with people.
You probably know that he went on to have a distinguished career in the police force in Wales, receiving a commendation for bravery.
A great bloke. One who is still missed by some of us.

And he actually stood still and stopped a penalty aimed down the middle. When do you ever see that?

As someone else said, I too am a Villa fan and would have loved Bull to sign for Villa. IMO , should have played for England much more but believe he had a spat with "the untouchable " Lineker; something to do with his Black Country accent, and that was that. cockney press never seemed to like him, same as Peter Withe, and they seem to have a big influence on who plays for England.
