Can I ask why Steel Beasts is so expensive? I understand it's used by governments, but surely there should be a cheaper civillian option for (permanent) purchases?
@@joelthorstensson2772 It is actually cheaper If you were to compare it with DCS, you're paying for the individual jets and the map packs that cost more than the actual cost of the full liscenes of steel beasts which is $110 USD.

For those who wondering why iranians are using eastern bloc tanks, actually by end of the iran-iraq war more and more soviet tanks and ifv were imported from china and north korea like (Chon ma) the north korean version of T62 and in the begining of the 90s and after the collapse of USSR iran bought a lot of T72S from slovenia which till day are in service in iran.
T-72S is not from Slovenia. It is Soviet/Russian-produced export version of Soviet T-72B.

@samanpouee5370 Interesting, I was not aware that Slovenia ever bought T-72S. I thought that they only had T-72 and M-84 acquired from the stocks of Yugoslav People's Army.

Just a quick note for you on the T72s sight Phan, at close range you have to aim a bit higher than you normally would cause the barrel and sight are so far apart from eachother. Otherwise, loved the vid and looking forward to part 2.

There's many other options as well, such as paying 10 bucks a month or 40 some bucks a year, the latter being the way I went about it

@@sharkk127Honestly, it's kind of amazing. This sim is so detailed and not micro transactioned out like digital combat Sim world. 100 bucks isn't the worst in the Sim world, it could be like racing Sims where f1 is like 800 dollars.

@@sharkk127 Sorry to break to you but GHPC will never surpass this game, the IA will never be on the same level, we will never be able to command units in GHPC like in Steel Beasts (this was said by the main dev), will never have interior of tanks like this game(said by the main dev), will never have combined arms action.
Steel Beasts is the Arma 3 of tanks while GHPC is the Call of Duty of tanks.
According to Tankograd article Part 1 on T-72, it has 8x optic. Abrams has 10x. Don't know if the difference is big enough to call Soviet optics low powered?

@@chieftainmk_11 theres a frankstein abomination made from a hull that appears to be an M48 and the turret of a T72, truly the WORST of both worlds
@@chieftainmk_11 The Chieftain Mk5 is in the sim but is is not fully modeled (i.e. you would not see Gunner's sight imagery). The Centurion is "sort of" modeled (its an IDF Shot Kal), with a ranging MG, no Thermals, etc.
I suspect the Scenario designer used vehicles which would be more "fun" to use as most player's are not too comfortable with "steam gunnery".
@@chieftainmk_11 The Chieftain isnt modelled very well and you cant use it, and the Centurion is out of use or at least useless by 1995 when I've set this mission. @whya2ndaccount is correct when he says this was the most convenient option for both myself and the players.

Yes you can. It's on the forums here. Just note that this is a CO-OP mission and it does require at least 1 on the Iraqi side to defend properly.

You need to concentrate cbt power and focus on one axis. splitting everything into 3rds and moving one 3 axes was never going to go well.
Perhaps the Commander was trying to apply Western tactics with Soviet kit and that tends not to work.

Trying to use Soviet smoke grenades for defensive purposes when its designed with more then a hundred metres range. Oops.
It still worked for us.
@@PhanPhantasy Well it certainly would if the enemy was stil further out from where the smoke lands! xD
@@spamuraigranatabru1149 Sure, it's made for more offensive but it's still a tactical asset to be used, so I'm not sure why this is an issue for you. We did use smoke to move up while we were under fire.
